The Biggest Race Ever

The Biggest Race Ever is the eighth episode of the first season of Legends of Chima.

Plot

Plot[]

Laval and Leonidas are carrying a box of Tribe Stones up the steps of the Lion Temple when what seems to be an earthquake breaks out across Chima, at the Crocodile Swamp, Plovar is cleaning Cragger's teeth when the earthquake reaches them and he accidentally swallows Plovar but he is able to get him out thanks to his guards. At the Lion Temple, the box of Tribe Stones breaks and falls down the steps but Laval then runs off to the Sacred Pool where he bears witness to the creation of the biggest orb of Golden CHI anyone has ever seen, at the Crocodile Swamp, Cragger gets wind of the biggest orb of Golden CHI and says he can't wait to win it at the race but Crooler uses the Persuader Plant and tells him it's not time to play fair and says to use a group of Biters but Cragger suggests doing something bold, loud and unpredictable instead.

At the Grand Arena the racers arrive when Laval takes notice that his Speedor is acting up and vows to fix it before the race starts so that the Wolves nor the Crocodiles get the orb for themselves. In the distance, Longtooth notices another racer speeding in the forest who he claims is the fastest racer in Chima but Lagravis gets his and Leonidas' attention and starts the announcement of the race as the two put the Golden CHI onto it's podium, the arena chosen is the Hazards of Hydro Havoc, just then, the most famous racer in Chima, Dom de la Woosh arrives as this is his first Speedor race in years according to Laval who doesn't take kindly to his arrival but Eris reveals something about Laval's past when he was friends with Cragger.

Turns out that both of them were big fans of Dom de la Woosh when they were kids and went to every race he was apart of and would often race each other and pretend to be Woosh, Laval then walks over to Cragger and tries to talk to him about how cool it is that he is there and tries to remind him of their childhood together but Cragger shrugs it off by saying he doesn't remember and tells Laval to leave with Crooler cackling. At the market, Razar and Razcal are selling an old box of Dom de la Woosh merchandise passing it off as it is new and customers come running in, at the Grand Arena, Plovar flies in when Cragger thinks he is there for a clean up but is instead flying to Woosh to clean him up but Woosh is already perfect, before the race, fans start going up to la Woosh, even Eris who got her wing signed but then Laval notices that Cragger is talking to Woosh which is strange because just a few minutes ago Cragger acted as if he didn't remember Woosh which upsets Laval but Eris is too infatuated with Woosh to care.

As the race starts, the racers are off except for Laval who forgot to fix his Speedor after being too distracted by Dom de la Woosh, not wanting to stay at the starting line the entire race, he pulls out a CHI orb he was saving and it allows him to get his Speedor working temporarily and is able to catch up to the other races and Woosh. Crooler then has Crawley and Crug release a group of Biters into the water which trips up some of the racers but some are able to evade them, Laval is able to avoid the Biters and takes the lead as the racers head into the caves but as he is nears the end of his route, his CHI power starts to wear off faster than he thought, but he is able to surpass Woosh and catch up to Cragger but he gets knocked off course by Cragger and falls into a pit of the Biters, Laval is then trapped and is about to drown when he is pulled to safety by a new mysterious racer in black armor and a helmet, this new racer then joins the race, catching up to and even surpassing Cragger and Dom de la Woosh, Cragger then tries to use his spear to take out the racer but is unsuccessful and the new racer wins the race and the Golden CHI, Equila the Announcer gives him the title of ShadoWind for being as fast as the wind but mysterious as a shadow.

Lagravis then rewards ShadoWind with the biggest orb of Golden CHI and he takes it on his Speedor but not before being chased by Cragger, Laval and Eris who try to find out who he is, Cragger urges he will crush ShadoWind one day and leaves but not before declaring to Laval that he is the better Woosh confirming to Laval that he did remember Dom de la Woosh. As Laval and Eris are heading back as well, they run into Woosh who looks saddened, it turns out that Cragger was the one that convinced to race today and said he did it because he missed the fans but also regrets working with Cragger, but Woosh then praises Laval for his racing effort today and was impressed that he was able to use a CHI orb to power his Speedor and not crash most of the way through, Woosh then declares Laval as one of the best racers he has ever seen which gets Laval all giddy and starts bragging to Eris that his hero thinks he is an incredible and keeps talking about it the whole way home greatly annoying Eris who did a similar thing earlier before the race.

  • When all the racers arrive at the Lion Temple, Winzar is shown driving Worriz' Speedor and wearing his cape, only to be replaced by Worriz in the next shot.
  • In the scene where Plovar flies over the racers, a generic Wolf soldier can be seen on his tribe's speedor instead of Worriz.
  • Skinnet and Rogon disappear after Skinnet's stink-up, with no mention of them crashing.
  • Twice in the race, Cragger can be seen wearing his helmet, even though it is probably back at the swamp (This occurs at 10:40 & and 13:55).
