History
History[]
Background[]
Sorla became the leader of the Great Lake at an unknown point. She was present when the nomadic Tiger Tribe warrior Zilvar arrived in the Never-Realm broken by his failure to save his people and watched him rebuild his life.[1]
Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu[]
The Never-Realm[]
Sorla greeted the ninja when they arrived at her cabin. After exchanging introductions, she used a mystical fire to show the ninja what happened to Zane. She told them that Zane was taken captive by the Ice Emperor and he is "lost." However, Lloyd believed Zane's strong and they will still come for him despite all the dangers she said. Sorla then warned them of General Vex, the Ice Emperor's second-in-command.
Fire Maker[]
Lloyd and Sorla discussed the path to get to the Castle of Ice. She told him that the safest path to get there is called Mala-Wojira. When Lloyd questioned about the the path, Sorla answered it by describing the path where the people who cross through it has to be quiet, or else Wojira will "strike you down."
When she headed outside to hear the news of Blizzard Samurai heading to the Great Lake, she told everyone to head inside, so they can regroup.
Inside her cabin, the Fishers threw ideas around on what they should do, but disagreements arise. Sorla stated that can't leave the Fire and they must protect it. When Kai asked why they "don't just light another fire," he was met by criticism by the Fishers, but Sorla explained that they can't light another Hearth Fire since the weather is too cold. After realizing they can't transport the Hearth Fire, Sorla made it clear they will protect it, and the ninja agreed that they will help.
When the Fishers and the ninja head out to prepare, Kai stayed behind with Sorla. He explained that he could solve the problem, but without his powers, he can't help. Sorla gave him advice, saying Elemental Powers can't be stolen, and it will come back.
The Fishers won the battle, but it's at the cost of losing their sacred Fire. The Fishers sit around the empty Fire, freezing in the winter night. Kai continued to blame himself for not having his Elemental Powers, and Sorla asked if Kai has done everything he can do. This gave Kai the spark to try to light another Fire, which turns out to be a success, with Kai slightly starting to regain his powers.
An Unlikely Ally[]
When Nya walked away from Kai, Cole, and Jay, she is soon confronted by Sorla who says that her powers are useful even if the water is frozen.
The Message[]
Sorla and the other Fishers went out to see what Uthaug wanted to show them. They were shocked to see it's a piece of Lloyd's gi.
The Traveler's Tree[]
Sorla is shown with Nya, beginning her training on mastering ice.
My Enemy, My Friend[]
Sorla and the rest of the Fishers try to escape Boreal but they were frozen in ice.
Awakenings[]
Upon Zane destroying his scepter, the Fishers, including Sorla, were all unfrozen as a result. Several days later, Sorla tells the reunited ninja that she cannot brew Traveler's Tea due to Ninjago being a distant realm until Cole gives her the berry he had been saving. Once the portal was created, the ninja go through as Sorla watches Krag say goodbye to Cole before comforting the lone yeti, and watches Lloyd head in as the portal disappears.
Dragons Rising, Season 4[]
A Frozen Scar[]
When the ninja arrived at the Never Kingdoms to discard the Weapon of Desolation, Nya was greeted by Sorla, who immediately ran to hug the latter. Sorla explained that when the Monastery of the Never Kingdoms appeared, pilgrims and travelers came to pay their respects to the ninja who freed the land from the reign of the Ice Emperor. She later spoke with Nya about Zilvar, acknowledging that while there's darkness in his heart he was ultimately hurt but not evil. She bid the ninja and Beniro farewell alongside Zilvar when they left the Monastery of the Never Kingdoms for the Abyss of Eternal Night.
