Sound is an Elemental Power in the Merged Lands that is derived from the Source Dragon of Motion.^[1] It is associated with the color teal.

Sonokinesis/Audiokinesis - The user can shape, manipulate, absorb, convert/store, transmit, project, and control sound.
- Soundwave Generation - The user can generate and project soundwaves.
  - Echolocation/Radar - As seen in "Ninja Roll" and "The Sword Shatters," the user is able to use soundwaves to determine the location of objects and people in a space much like a radar, essentially replacing sight.
    - Infrared Vision/Motion Sense - As demonstrated by Jacob, users that are blind often use Sound to see the body heat from people and feel their movements.
    - Sightless Sensing/Enhanced Senses - It is stated that blind users like Jacob can use Sound to act without sight and possess other enhanced/immense senses (smelling, hearing, taste, etc).
  - Sonic Blast - As seen with Jacob in "Ninja Roll," the user can release soundwaves as a powerful blast.
    - Sonic Pulse Emission - Users like Jacob can also release their sonic blasts as a powerful pulse.
    - Sonic Explosion/Boom Generation - As shown by Jacob in "Ninja Roll", the user can release their sonic blasts as a sonic boom strong enough to make a large vase explode into shards.
    - Sonic Beam Emission - As seen with Jacob and Teelk, the user can release beams of concentrated sound.
  - Sonic Scream - As seen with the past Master of Sound in "Lost in Time," the user is able to create and generate soundwaves from their mouth to destroy enemies with only one scream.
    - Sound Amplification/Powerful Roar - It is possible for the user to increase the volume of their scream even further, allowing them to shout so loud that it sounds like a roar powerful enough to blow away opponents and break objects.
- Repulsion Field - The user can create a sonic field that pushes objects away.

Symbol

Symbol[]

The symbol of Sound is not apparent. Jacob, the Master of Sound, has no distinct shapes or artwork on his clothing, except for the one on his lower back and the stars on his glasses. The symbol on his lower back resembles a barbell.

It is unlikely that either shape is specifically the symbol of Sound, so it seems there is no Sound symbol.

Every Elemental Master who used the power of Sound during the most recent Tournament of the Sources was defeated in the following round; Teelk was defeated by Algu, who was defeated by Zeatrix, who was then defeated by Lloyd, and finally by Nokt, who was ultimately and technically defeated by Sora.
- This pattern also is present with the Element of Surface Tension, although it's unknown if Mord's fight against Zeatrix was her first battle, as it happened in the second round.
Sound is one of the seventeen elements that are currently not known to be confined to a human host. The other sixteen are Ice, Time, Fusion, Balance, Propulsion, Figment, Plants, Quake, Size, Surface Tension, Reflex, Brute Force, Fear, Swarm, Misfortune and Decay.
In Dragons Rising, the sonic scream effect is the same one used for the Howlers.
