Nokt

Overview

“I don't take orders from you. I don't take orders from anyone.”

Nokt was a corrupted anthropomorphic wolf,[1] one of the two leaders of the Forbidden Five alongside his sister Rox,[4] one of Zarkt's cousins,[3] and the Elemental Master of Brute Force. After centuries of being confined in the Nether-Space along with his peers, he was released by Ras using Kai as a sacrifice during the Ritual of the Blood Moon. However, he became forced to serve Ras after attempting to turn against him for not freeing the rest of the Forbidden Five.

At some point after the ritual, Nokt and his sister (who was possessing Jordana at the time) slew three Arc Dragons and stole their horns as part of their plan to release the rest of the Five. He went on to participate in the Tournament of the Sources, where he captured the powers of every Elemental Master present. He also tricked Sora into destroying the shock collar placed on him by Ras and then went to the Monastery of Gates with Rox, where the dragon horns were kept. There, he used the stolen powers along with the ivory from the horns to bring back the other four. He succeeded in doing so, but was soon stripped of the stolen powers. Weakened, Nokt and the other four escape through a portal gate to the Cloud Kingdom, but were sent to another realm after he and the other members of the Forbidden Five destroyed the portal gate to evade capture.

Seeking more power, Nokt and the others went to Thunderfang, who promised them more power if they free him. However, after the Five succeeded in freeing him, Thunderfang betrayed them and consumed their souls. Later, Thunderfang took control of Nokt and the other four to capture souls across the Merged Realms in his plan to become a Source Dragon. During Nokt's soul collecting mission, he went to the Land of Lost Things, where he encountered Cole, Kai, and Frak, stealing most of the Finders’ souls. The three Ninja tracked Nokt to Imperium, where he managed to steal almost every Imperian souls, including Cole's but lost several others thanks to Kai and Frak's new Reveal Blades.

Nokt, Rox, and Drix were guarding the Spectral Lands when the three saw Arin and Lloyd with the Unbidden Storm, which can summon the Arc Dragon of Focus to defeat Thunderfang. Following Thunderfang's defeat, Nokt's soul and the others disappeared.

History[]

Background[]

Nokt was initially part of a wolf tribe from the Wyldness alongside his sister Rox and their cousin Zarkt. At some point, Nokt would dethrone the Raven King, taking control over the Order of the Deep Shadow,[5] where he and his fellow wolves met Drix and Kur, leading them to form the Forbidden Five, with Nokt and Rox taking on leadership roles. Selected by Thunderfang, the Five were granted the elusive power of Chaos, which allowed them to receive Elemental Powers and cultivate remarkable abilities, including a unique and corrupted form of Spinjitzu called Shatterspin, along with the use of Theroxian Magic. This enabled them to exceed the capabilities of traditional Elemental Masters.[6] Together, they created the Wolf Clan, where they shared their teachings and mystical abilities. However, as they honed their new powers, Nokt and the entire clan succumbed to corruption. Fueled by this newfound malevolence, Nokt and the rest of the Forbidden Five turned their ambitions for domination over all realms, threatening to bring about apocalyptic consequences through their dark powers. Their relentless pursuit of destruction led them to attack the Wyldness, plunging it into an abyss of despair and chaos.[7]

Nokt and the Five were given Chaos, which allowed them to create an army to spread destruction across the Wyldness and the 16 Realms.

Nokt and the Five were given Chaos, which allowed them to create an army to spread destruction across the Wyldness and the 16 Realms.

In the midst of the Forbidden Five's attack on the Wyldness, Nokt and the Wolf Mask Warriors launched an assault on the South, resulting in everyone there either submitting to him or being killed. Nokt decided to take Zarkar as a trophy and brought him to the Shadow Dojo, where the other members of the Five awaited his return. Upon arriving at the Shadow Dojo, Nokt demanded that Zarkar recall about the Forbidden Five's fame. Zarkar questioned why they would commit such atrocities. Unfazed by Zarkar's defiance, Nokt and Rox proclaimed that it was time for the Forbidden Five to expand their reign and wreak havoc upon the other realms. Momentarily, the group encountered resistance from Egalt and Rontu.[8] The Dragon Masters harnessed the power of the Rising Dragon to counter the destructive force of Shatterspin. With their combined strength, they successfully halted Nokt and his allies in their tracks, preventing them from achieving their conquest. The Dragon Masters devised a magical spell, banishing the Five to the Nether-Space for millennia.[9]

Dragons Rising, Season 2[]

The Forest of Spirits[]

Nokt heard the sound of a drum commencing the Ritual of the Blood Moon from the far reaches of the Nether-Space and mused that after long centuries, he and his peers are finally being called home.

Rising Ninja[]

Nokt freed from the Nether-Space

Nokt freed from the Nether-Space

Kai was pushed into the portal by Ras, causing Nokt to be released from the Nether-Space and find himself in the Wyldness. Nokt relished in his freedom and Ras took this opportunity to divulge his involvement in the Ritual of the Blood Moon and his ultimate goal of freeing the remaining members of the Forbidden Five. Determined to achieve his objective at any cost, Nokt readied himself to employ Shatterspin, forcefully pushing back all the ninja except for Nya. Nya used Rising Dragon to strike Nokt with precision. However, undeterred by the blow, Nokt retaliated by employing Shatterspin once again, forcefully knocking Nya back. Unfortunately for Nokt and the Wolf Clan, their efforts were in vain as they failed to acquire the necessary sacrifices before the portal closed. Suddenly, to their astonishment, Nokt and the Wolf Clan found themselves transported to an unfamiliar location. Outraged, Nokt confronted Ras, questioning his audacity to abandon their mission of freeing the rest of the Forbidden Five. In response, Ras boldly declared that Nokt owed his newfound freedom to him alone. Attempting to attack Ras in a fit of rage, Nokt's actions were swiftly thwarted as Ras swiftly placed an implant on the back of Nokt's head, delivering a powerful electric shock. Ras made it clear that unless Nokt pledged his unwavering loyalty, he would face the consequences of further electrocution.

The Final Game (flashback)[]

Nokt would eventually learn of Rox's escape from the Nether-Space by taking over Jordana. The two collaborated to liberate the remaining members of the Forbidden Five without Ras' knowledge. In order to achieve their goal, Nokt would need to participate in the Tournament of the Sources and emerge victorious to gain access to sufficient Elemental Powers. Additionally, he required three Crowns of Horns to further their plan. To obtain the necessary horns, Nokt and Rox launched attacks on the Matriarch of Fallen Leaves, the Patriarch of the Northern Spiral, and the Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons, resulting in the demise of all three dragons, which also served as revenge against Rontu, Egalt, and Riyu (who hailed from the tribes of the slain dragons) for defeating them during battles in the past.[10]

The Shape of Motion[]

Nokt and Cinder in a sparring session.

Nokt and Cinder engaged in brutal training in preparation for the Tournament of the Sources. During one intense session, Nokt's aggression escalated as he launched a fierce attack on Cinder, attempting to severely injure the latter, prompting Ras to intervene with the control implant, serving as a reminder that their conflict was not one of war. In response to Ras' intervention, Nokt expressed a belief that all interactions are inherently combative. Ras, however, acknowledged the significant improvement in Nokt's skills since his escape from the Nether-Space, yet he firmly rejected Nokt's suggestion to remove the control implant, emphasizing his leadership role within the Wolf Clan and his unwillingness to tolerate any acts of betrayal. Following the tense exchange, Ras redirected the focus back to their training, which only fueled Nokt's frustration.

They Gather for the Feast[]

At the welcome banquet for the Elemental Masters participating in the Tournament of the Sources, Nokt and the Wolf Clan were present to celebrate. During the festivities, Jordana struggled against Rox's possession and attempted to warn Sora before Rox regained full control of her. Nokt approached them and tried to divert attention from Rox's hold on Jordana by casually questioning where she had gone after she had "wandered off." When Zeatrix arrived, Nokt, Cinder, and Rox joined Ras, who justified his presence in the City of Temples by asserting his authority over Elemental Masters like Nokt and Cinder.

Nokt noticed Sora's suspicions while meeting with "Jordana".

Believing Rox's possession of Jordana was merely Jordana exhibiting peculiar behavior, Sora had been observing her with a sense of suspicion. In light of these concerns, Nokt approached Rox to inquire whether Sora had any suspicions about the possession. Rox confessed her uncertainty about the situation but emphasized the need for caution moving forward. At that moment, Frak joined them, and the three of them left together.

United We Fall[]

Nokt attended Cinder's match. He silently watched as Ras used the Gong of Shattering so Cinder could defeat Wyldfyre. Later, he attended the Cavern Run.

Truth and Lies[]

Nokt watch the Ninja win the Cavern Run. Later, Nokt faced off against Tox with the primary goal of scoring a ball into the opposing hoop. However, rather than adhering to the intended objective, Nokt used Shatterspin with relentless intensity. This barrage of attacks inflicted injuries on Tox, ultimately incapacitating her and resulting in Nokt being awarded victory by default. Nevertheless, Nokt persisted in his offensive maneuvers against Tox until Roby intervened, issuing a warning of disqualification to the wolf-like warrior. Nokt later met up with Rox and called her sister, intriguing Sora, who overheard. He eventually receives Tox's Poison power through the Elemental Cup.

He later overhears Rox talking to Ras about his plans to create more Dragon Icons.

Later, Roby announces Nya and Nokt as the next two competitors. As the two line up, Nokt mocks the Water Ninja over her brother's absence and her boyfriend's usefulness. Roby explains the rules of the match, saying whoever gets the majority of the three gems will win. The game begins and the two start fighting. Nokt looks around for a gem and sees it appear. He manages to overpower her and takes the gem, earning a point. A few moments later, they both see another gem appear and Nya grabs it. Nokt performs Shatterspin and Nya uses Rising Dragon to counteract it and knock him down. After more combat, Nya tries to take the last gem but it disappears and reappears next to Nokt. He gets a hold of it and Roby declares him the winner. Roby transfers Nya’s Water and Lightning powers to Nokt. Nokt celebrated his victory with a water and lightning blast.

The Sword Shatters[]

Nokt and Rox infiltrated the ninja's quarters with the intention of capturing Nya and Riyu, having realized that they know how Dragon Ivory can help free Kai and Bonzle from the Nether-Space, mirroring the evil siblings' strategy to rescue the remaining members of the Forbidden Five.

Subsequently, during the tournament, Nokt faced off against Neuro in a challenging puzzle game. Using Lightning to incapacitate Neuro, Nokt was able to swiftly complete the game and secure victory. Following this triumph, Roby transferred Neuro's Mind power to Nokt with the Elemental Cup.

The tournament continued with Lloyd, Frak, Nokt, Zeatrix, and Sora being left. Roby planned a secret bonus round with Lloyd and Zeatrix, which ended with Lloyd securing victory but Zeatrix launched an illegal attack that left the ninja incapacitated.

Clues and Suspects[]

Thanks to Bleckt's rigging, Nokt managed to obtain Lloyd's powers.

Nokt went up against Lloyd. At first, Lloyd didn't show up, which led to Nokt being declared the winner by default. However, the green ninja showed up and Roby gave him all of Zeatrix's powers.

As Bleckt rang the bell, Nokt immediately charged at him with a relentless assault of Water and Lightning. Due to his injuries, Lloyd was forced to avoid Nokt’s attacks. Despite this, Nokt was able to hold against the Green Ninja, managing to dodge his energy blast and using Water, he defended against his Shockwave. Nokt then activated Shatterspin, knowing Lloyd will use Rising Dragon, which he will then attack the ninja with while he is in the form. When Lloyd used Rising Dragon, Nokt managed to sneak attack him with Shatterspin, which blew Lloyd back and almost knocked him off the platform. Bleckt orders the fight to stop because according to the ancient rules of the Source Dragons, they don't permit injured fighters before a match. This makes Nokt the winner by default and he receives Lloyd's Energy power and his other powers as his prize via the Elemental Cup.

The Final Game[]

Nokt observed Ras as he practiced, emphasizing to Rox the importance of eliminating Ras. Rox reassured him, stating that it was just a matter of time before they would put an end to Ras, allowing the Forbidden Five to carry on with their destructive mission.

Sora vs Nokt

Sora vs Nokt

As night fell, the championship match of the tournament was set to commence, with Nokt facing off against Sora. During their battle, Nokt expressed his lack of respect for Sora's fierce resolve, boasting that she had never encountered an opponent like him, despite her previous confrontations with her parents and a whole kingdom. In the heat of the fight, Nokt unleashed Shatterspin while Sora countered by creating an Ice wall, merging it with the powers of Reflex and Quake. Although Nokt shattered the ice barrier with Shatterspin, the aftermath sent him crashing into the jumbotron. Ras urged Nokt to unleash his full potential against Sora. Nokt then used Wind and the two combatants then engaged in a fierce exchange of their Elemental Powers, with Nokt firing Energy, Water, and Lightning, which Sora dodged with Smoke and fired Heat, though Nokt countered the attack with Water. Nokt leapt and fired another Lightning blast but Sora used Reflex and Smoke to kick the wolf warlord in the back before sending Heat blasts, which Nokt responded to by firing Energy blasts. As Nokt used Energy to counter Sora's Heat, he used Shockwave and kicked her as she appeared from her Smoke form and landed on the ground, with Nokt initially gaining the upper hand, arrogantly asserting that he could outperform Sora in every aspect. However, when Lloyd encouraged Sora to outsmart Nokt, Sora spotted the control device hidden on the back of Nokt's head. Seizing the opportunity, Sora used Technology to transform the control implant into a techno-bee, which Nokt had mocked her about until it stung him and delivered a jolt of electricity. Just as Sora was poised to deliver the final blow to win the match, Bleckt discreetly tilted the arena, shifting the advantage back to Nokt. Seeing Sora jump on a hoverpad, Nokt used Wind and dodged her Heat attacks before charging at the hoverpad and hitting it with a Shatterspin attack, knocking Sora off her hoverpad, ultimately securing his victory in the Tournament of the Sources.

At the victory ceremony, Roby was prepared to declare Nokt as the Champion of the Sources. However, at that moment, Wyldfyre and Zur arrived, revealing Bleckt had rigged the games to guarantee the Wolf Clan's success, including Nokt's battles against Nya and Sora. This information left Roby in disbelief, prompting him to cancel the ceremony. Nokt unleashed Shatterspin, which sent Roby flying and allowed all the Elemental Powers from the Elemental Cup to surge into him. Lloyd, Sora, Wyldfyre, and Zur attempt to stop him but he easily defeated them by blasting them with Shockwave. With the Elemental Powers in their collection, Ras pushed forward with his plans, but Nokt declared that he no longer works for Ras. When Ras tried to use the control device on Nokt, the evil warrior voiced his growing contempt for the tiger, particularly criticizing his arrogance for not anticipating the outcome of the control device during his fight with Sora. To add insult to injury, Rox revealed herself to Ras as Nokt's sister and that she had been possessing Jordana since the Ritual of the Blood Moon. Both Nokt and Rox admitted to killing the three Arc Dragons to claim their Crowns of Horns, with Nokt disclosing their goal to free the remaining members of the Forbidden Five trapped in the Nether-Space using the Dragon Ivory and the stolen Elemental Powers. Enraged, Ras summoned Cinder and the Wolf Mask Warriors to confront Nokt and Rox, demanding they comply or face destruction. Despite this, Rox corrupted the Wolf Clan to their side while Nokt used Shockwave to repel Ras.

Elements of Betrayal[]

Nokt betrays Lord Ras.

Nokt betrays Lord Ras.

Nokt and Rox journeyed toward the Monastery of Gates with the intent of liberating the rest of the Forbidden Five; however, their path was obstructed by one of the ninja groups, stationed at the rock bridge. Nokt expressed his disdain, asserting that the ninja were merely squandering their time. As they prepared to unleash their Shatterspin technique, Zane and Nya swiftly countered with their Rising Dragon technique, which irritated Nokt due to its frequent application. Undeterred, he pressed on to rescue the remaining members of the Forbidden Five, closely followed by Arin. In a moment of desperation, Nokt destroyed the rock bridge, causing Arin to fall, but Riyu was quick to intervene and catch him. Upon reaching the monastery, Nokt proclaimed that the time had finally come for the Forbidden Five to be liberated, promising that the Merged Realms would soon be under their dominion. Just as he was about to open the portal, Arin executed a full Spinjitzu maneuver that sent him staggering backward. As Nokt gets up and uses Wind in an attempt to strike back, Ras and Roby arrived on a hoverpad. Ras launched the hoverpad at Nokt to further destabilize him but Nokt managed to recover and used Earth to attack Roby. A fierce battle erupted, with Arin, Riyu, and Ras collaborating to subdue Nokt; but before Roby could strip the evil Elemental Master of the stolen Powers, Nokt retaliated, using Heat to make Ras let go of him and Shockwave to nearly send Roby off a cliff. After using Ice to take out Riyu, he taunted that the Forbidden Five would relish the opportunity to claim Arin and Ras as their first victims upon their release. Utilizing Shatterspin, Nokt slammed Arin and Ras against a pillar and used Quake to make the ground vibrate. Nokt then harnessed the Elemental Powers to activate the Crowns of Horns, thereby creating a portal to the Nether-Space, which ultimately freed the rest of the Five and returned Rox's soul to her body.

Nokt vs

Nokt vs. Ras and the Ninja

After dragging Drix and Kur's body to a nearby portal gate, Nokt was troubled by the state of the three members, convinced they had perished. However, Rox clarified that they were not dead but rather unconscious, a side effect of the corrupted method employed for their release, which had severely depleted their energy. Rox suggested that they flee to recover their strength. At that moment, the ninja arrived, challenging the two. Nokt, determined to face the threat alone, noticed that the ninja and Ras were reluctantly teaming up against him. Despite this, he urged them all to confront him together. He unleashed Shatterspin along with the stolen Elemental Powers to overpower them; dodging Ras' hammer and using Energy to take him and Lloyd out, the hammer to swat Arin, Zane, and Riyu away, both Reflex and Earth against Cole's Elemental Earth Mech, Water to knock Nya back, knocking Sora off her Ninja Team Combo Vehicle glider, and using Heat to destroy the glider part. After defeating Zane, Nokt used Ice to block Arin's Spinjitzu before using Shatterspin to punch him into Lloyd. Nokt continued to battle the Ninja, using Heat and blasting Nya with Shockwave. He then used Wind to stop Cole's mech sword, before using Heat to cause the sword to almost hit Nya. Nokt then unleashed Shatterspin on the mech, nearly causing Zane to be crushed but Cole saved him, which resulted in the mech being destroyed.

During his battle with Ras, Nokt used Shadow or Light to avoid his attack before using Heat to blast Ras into a pillar and asserted that this was the consequence of Ras underestimating the Forbidden Five, who were not mere pawns in his game but the true masters of the greater scheme of things. Just as Nokt was about to attack Ras, Arin stepped in to confront him single-handedly in order to protect the tiger. At the same time, Nya, empowered by Riyu, harnessed dragon energy to activate the Crowns of Horns, which opened the portal to the Nether-Space. Observing this development, Nokt attempted to intervene and thwart Nya's efforts, but Kai and Bonzle managed to slip through the portal. A battle ensued between Nokt and Kai, with Kai defeating him using Rising Dragon but the wolf asserted that he didn't require Shatterspin to defeat Kai, boasting that he now possessed more Elemental Powers than anyone in history. Using Sound, Nokt managed to knock Kai back, and with Figment, he generated multiple clones of himself, each one launching a relentless assault of Elemental Powers at Kai until the real Nokt decided to grow giant through Size, crushing Kai with his fist. As Nokt pushed the other ninja back using Energy, he intended to use Heat to deliver a dramatic conclusion to Kai's fate. However, before the wolf could execute his plan, Roby intervened with the Elemental Cup, stripping him of all the Elemental Powers he had unlawfully acquired and also draining him in the process. With the powers restored to their rightful owners, the ninja closed in on Nokt, who stubbornly refused to accept defeat in this manner. Just then, the four members of the Forbidden Five recovered, and Rox encouraged Nokt to join them as they made their way toward the portal gate leading to the Cloud Kingdom.

As Nokt began to follow, Ras obstructed his path, determined to make the warrior pay for his treachery. However, Nokt swiftly incapacitated Ras with Shatterspin and dragged him along, intent on exacting his revenge.

Arin chased after the Forbidden Five, but Nokt thwarted his efforts by using Brute Force on the portal gate, creating an explosion that transported him and the rest of the Forbidden Five to a different realm while Arin and an unconscious Ras were sent to the First Land.

The Missing[]

Nokt along with his comrades.

In the Forest of Spirits, Nokt and the Five landed in front of a car and stole supplies from two civilians to get to the First Land so they can release Thunderfang. While Zarkt, Kur, and Drix took care of the civilians, Nokt watched them work and allowed the civilians to leave so they can spread the news of the Forbidden Five's return. As Rox announced it was time to free Thunderfang, Nokt then grinned with the others as they head to the First Land to unchain their ally.

The Spectral Lands[]

Nokt and the others arrived in the First Land in the Storm Village, where the Dragonians live. The village leader Tyr greeted them but the group ravaged their village to find Thunderfang's prison. Tyr tried to reason with them, but Nokt shoved him aside and found a passage that leads to the prison. After using Brute Force to destroy the rock blocking the entrance, Nokt and the others went inside. Much to the Five's surprise, Thunderfang had expected them and they made a deal with the Chaos Dragon, who agreed to give them the power they want if they free him. He gave them the Sobrient Stone, which they took outside and Nokt used Shatterspin to break the stone, its energies corrupting the Dragonians into their new warriors.

The Great Zane Robbery[]

Nokt found the Red Prismatic Blade and also has a rematch with the Ninja.

Nokt and a platoon of Dragonian Warriors raided a Prison train owned by the Freebooters in search of the Red Prismatic Blade. As they landed aboard the train, Nokt declared that they would crush all who stood in their way and ordered his Dragonians to leave no survivors. While his forces fought against Rapton and his Freebooters, Nokt searched for the Prismatic Blade, spotting it just as it was snatched up by Zane. Although frustrated, Nokt expressed his eagerness at fighting one of the Ninja again, immediately charging at Zane with his sword. Since Zane had seen another blade like the Red one, he asserted that its kind of power should not be in Nokt's hand but the wolf man says he doesn’t care and fights him in the train.

Eventually, the Prismatic Blade would make its way to P.I.X.A.L.'s hands, forcing Nokt and his forces to pursue her outside and on top of the train. Seeing P.I.X.A.L. run, Nokt ordered the Dragonian Warriors to go after her while he dealt with Zane. Charging with Shatterspin, Nokt managed to dodge Zane's Ice blast and knock him to the train's side. Although P.I.X.A.L. held her own against a warrior, Nokt was undeterred however. He used his Shatterspin to knock P.I.X.A.L. almost off the train and reclaim the blade. As Zane attempts to blast him, Nokt counters the attack with his sword. Determined to end their battle, Nokt ordered one of his warriors to damage the train's controls, causing it to begin accelerating at an uncontrollable rate. With his objective secure, Nokt sarcastically bid Zane farewell and flew off in retreat with his Dragonians, briefly using his Shatterspin to propel himself through the air.

I Alone Can Save Them[]

Nokt used the Red Prismatic Blade to cut one of the two prismatic chains that held Thunderfang's arms, while Rox used the Green Prismatic Blade to cut the other. After the two chains were cut, Thunderfang unleashed a wind blast that blew Rox and Nokt. The Shatter Dragon remarked that this was the closest he had been to freedom in a millennia, yet the other three prismatic chains still held him, but Rox assured him that the Forbidden Five were hunting down the remaining blades at that very moment.

Chaos Unchained[]

Nokt stood alongside the others, awaiting Drix's return with the blades. While Kur was concerned over Drix's tardiness, Nokt entertained a different thought, suspecting that Drix might have failed to secure the last two blades. Their attention was soon drawn to a fly that Drix had dispatched. The fly told Rox of the Ninja and she signaled the Five to prepare for an impending battle against the ninja, with Nokt grabbing his sword. Without hesitation, Nokt took to the air, engaging the ninja and landing on Sora's jet, where he boldly announced that it was time for a rematch. He unleashed Brute Force on the jet, sending it crashing down. Amidst the fight, Nokt noticed Ras, who was being held captive by Drix and the Dragonian Warriors. Drix attempted to present the Returning Blade to Nokt, but the wolf man’s focus was solely on seeking revenge against Ras.

Nokt fights Ras for the final time.

Ignoring Rox's plea to focus on the mission, Nokt threw Ras to the ground, freeing him from his restraints. He wanted Ras to fight back, refusing to fight someone who was weakened, reminiscent of how the tiger had once installed the control implant on him. As Ras regretted freeing Nokt, the latter simply sighed, remarking that without such moments, they would have missed out on the thrill of their encounters. The battle between them commenced, and Nokt quickly gained the upper hand, poised to deliver a fatal blow while proclaiming it was time to demonstrate true power. Just as he was about to strike, Arin intervened, crashing a modified dragon-headed drone into the Master of Brute Force.

Nokt kicked the drone off him, ready to confront Arin, whom he viewed as a mere subordinate trying to rescue his master. Arin urged Nokt to release Ras, but the wolf retorted that he took orders from no one, not even Arin. He then laughed at Arin's threats, calling him a comedian. In a sudden turn of events, Rox launched a surprise attack on Arin from behind, allowing Nokt to knock the two Prismatic Blades out of the ninja’s hands to his sister’s. As Arin fell, Nokt used Shatterspin to deliver a powerful kick that sent the ninja flying into the Winds of Chaos. With the last two Prismatic Blades now in their possession, Nokt and the others set their sights on Thunderfang's prison, determined to free the Shatter Dragon. As the last to enter, Nokt blasted away at boulders, ensuring that the ninja were trapped in the Winds of Chaos. Upon reaching Thunderfang's prison, Drix and Zarkt used the remaining Prismatic Blades to free the dragon. After his release, Thunderfang unleashed a wind blast that blew the Five back. Nokt and the Forbidden Five anticipated receiving more Chaos powers as Thunderfang promised, only to be met with shock when the dragon revealed that he had no intention of keeping his words. The Chaos Dragon then absorbed the souls of Nokt and the other members, killing them.

Casket of Bones[]

Nokt was waiting at the Well of the Lost with the rest of the Forbidden Five when Drix came back from the Administration with more souls for Thunderfang's ritual.

Under the Light of a Mechanical Moon[]

Nokt arrived in the Land of Lost Things and absorbed the Finders' souls. Kai, Cole, and Frak arrived after freeing the bones of the Source Dragon of Balance and Geo told them of some weird music. Cole looked up after hearing it and noticed Nokt, who just finished stealing the Finders' souls with his flute and grinned at them as he left. The three ninja took Geo's Ninja Combat Vehicle and three Prismatic Blades to go after Nokt.

Nokt arrived in Imperium and managed to capture several souls with the Spectral Dragonians. When Cole spots him, he concludes that destroying Nokt's flute will free the Finders' souls. The Earth Ninja attempts to take him down but Kai stops him due to knowing the dangers when Percival Tartigrade suggests upgrading their Prismatic Blades. Frak and Kai go ahead but Cole instead fights Nokt head on in the Ninja Combat Vehicle Jet. As Nokt continues to play his flute and absorb more souls, he soon hears lasers being fired at him, which he then spots Cole inside and manages to avoid the lasers before dodging the ninja's attempt to bring him down. Nokt then uses Brute Force to fire powerful balls at Cole's jet, which brings it down, but the Earth Ninja manages to use the backup engines to fly again. Nokt and Cole continue to battle, with Cole dodging his Brute Force attack, but Nokt uses Shatterspin to repel Cole's lasers and launches a powerful wave that destroys the jet. Cole then jumps out and uses Spinjitzu to keep himself afloat and charges at Nokt but the Spectral Dragonians grab and restrain him as Nokt plays his flute, which steals Cole's soul. Frak and Kai arrive and save the hollowed ninja's body. The two ninja use their new Reveal Blades to destroy the Spectral Dragonians, forcing the others to flee. Nokt notices his minions retreating and sees Kai before firing a Brute Force ball at him but Kai throws his Reveal Blade at the flute and comments that his music is terrible, which releases most of the stolen Imperian souls. Nokt then retreats with the rest of his Spectral Dragonians.

Nokt returned from Imperium and filled the Well of the Lost with the stolen souls he still has, but it wasn't enough, causing Thunderfang to scold him for his failure. Rox then appeared and transferred her stolen souls into the well, which erupted with power, and Nokt watched as his unwanted master slowly becomes more powerful.

For Whom the Bell Tolls[]

Nokt watched in shock as Thunderfang became more powerful, growing a large claw. He then listened to his master say he sensed someone nearing the places where the two halves of the Arc Dragon of Focus rested and realized the Ninja were going to awaken his eternal enemy. Thunderfang then ordered Nokt and the Five to stop them, unaware of Lloyd and Arin’s presences in the Spectral Lands, waiting for the Arc Dragon’s two halves to be awakened so they can use the Unbidden Storm at the Shatter Dragon’s source of power to unite them in hopes of defeating him once and for all.

When Doves Cry[]

As Nokt, Rox, and Drix attack Lloyd and Arin after seeing them back in the Spectral Lands, Nokt fires Brute Force at the two. Rox attacks Lloyd's Jet Mech with Shatterspin while Nokt fires more Brute Force at Arin's Spinjitzu Battle Mech. But thanks to the mechs being coated with Prismatic Ore, the duo were able to survive Nokt's attacks. The wolf ghost notices the Unbidden Storm and attempts to steal it but was grabbed by Lloyd's Spectral armor and pinned to the ground. As Nokt struggles to break free, Lloyd tells Arin to find a way into the Well of the Lost until he remembers Bleckt’s words that there was a cavern underneath the well, as Nokt uses Brute Force to break free. As Lloyd breaks the ground, Nokt fires Brute Force at Arin before flying to charge at the two but he wasn't able to catch them.

Nokt gathered at the Well of the Lost with Drix and Rox, as Thunderfang declared to the Source Dragons that they refused him of his rightful place among them, but he will not be denied and will force himself into their ranks to make them pay for rejecting him.

When the Arc Dragon of Focus was summoned, Nokt stood at the Well of the Lost with Rox and Drix, watching their master fight his mortal enemy.

Thanks to Lloyd and Arin's focus, the Arc Dragon of Focus managed to defeat Thunderfang again by making him destroy the hill with Well of the Lost. The destruction of the Well of the Lost led to the demise of Thunderfang, which released a surge of soul energy that returned the souls to the Hollow Ones. In this process, Nokt and the other spectral Hollow Ones dissipated.

Appearance[]

Nokt is a corrupted anthropomorphic wolf who has navy blue skin with blue facial markings, as well as extra light blue markings around his azure eyes. He also has grayish blue hands, an azure scar running along his left eye, and pale blue fangs protruding from his mouth like vampires. He was dressed in a black robe with a sash of the same color that has gray ghostly patterns and pale blue claws on the left side, in addition to gray and maroon cloths around his waist and hips, a black tattered cape, and a maroon undershirt. On the back of his robe was a pale blue symbol of the Forbidden Five. He wore gray pants and black boots with a pair of pale blue claw-like toecaps each, as well as beads of the same blue color on his left side similar to the ones worn by the Oni. Furthermore, he sported a dark ichimegasa straw hat that mainly appeared as black but could slightly change shade depending on the brightness of the area he was in. After being hollowed and falling under Thunderfang’s control in the Spectral Lands, his skin color changed to light blue, the markings around his eyes and face became white/light gray, and his eyes permanently glowed red.

Personality

Personality[]

“Everything is war.”
— Nokt to Ras, "The Shape of Motion"

Before and after his appearance, Nokt was already revealed to be malevolent and evil, reveling in the chaos he and his brethren cause. In the past, he is shown to be highly sadistic, enjoying Zarkar's misery. When he returned after many years of exile, Nokt wasted no time in attacking the Ninja and sided with Ras. After being subjected to an electrical device designed to make him obedient to Lord Ras, he had no choice but to obey his orders.

When training with Cinder, he was revealed to be highly aggressive and violent as seen when he attempted to kill the Master of Smoke even after he defeated him (and even attempted to kill Tox in the Tournament of the Sources until Roby intervened), but Ras stops him and says he is supposed to have a training, not war. In response, Nokt dryly says that everything is war. Nokt asks Ras to release him from his control implant with a fake warm smile, but frowned sourly when Ras revealed that while he respects the Forbidden Five, he does not trust them, which caused the wolf to have a dislike for the tiger. Nokt’s dislike for Ras is shown again after his control device was removed, in which he pointed out Ras' arrogance while angrily and calmly mocking him for how blind he is to things around him. He is a smart warrior, as seen when he taunted Nya before their battle, about Kai not being present to see her battling and succeed against her opponents, and also about Jay, who left the Tournament of the Sources after losing to her in his first match, referring to him as the "other useless ninja". He is also capable of adapting as seen in his fight against Sora; when she managed to counter his Shatterspin, he quickly changed his strategy and started using his elemental powers to launch a relentless assault on her. He also cares about his sister and the rest of the Forbidden Five, becoming angry and outraged that Ras wasn't able to free them as promised and later, immediately checking on them after they fell from the portal connected to the Nether-Space. He can sometimes be stubborn, as even when he lost all the Elemental Powers he stole, which drained him greatly, and was outnumbered, he still refused to admit defeat.

When Nokt revealed he and Rox killed the three Arc Dragons to obtain their Crowns of Horns, he was unconcerned of their death, showing he didn't care what his actions had on others, as long as it means achieving his goals and satisfying his bloodlust and sadism.

Due to his power and victory of conquest over the years, Nokt was an arrogant opponent who considered most of his foes beneath him. During the Tournament of Sources and subsequent fights, he always spoke in a calm and indifferent manner and seldom showed any emotion besides enjoyment of the pain he could inflict in combat. The only instance so far of Nokt losing his composure is when Roby removed all the stolen elemental powers to the point where he was overwhelmed by too many foes and actually had to retreat from a fight although vowing revenge as he did.

Despite his ruthlessness however, Nokt has an honorable side; even though he had a chance to easily finish off the defeated, captured, and unarmed Ras, he opted to release the tiger and return the latter's weapon before fighting him, having no interest in fighting a weakened and defenseless opponent. But when Ras managed to hold against him longer than he expected, Nokt resorted to using his powers to defeat his enemy and leave him injured to kill him. Even with his cunning nature, Nokt showed an impulsive side, which makes him vulnerable to his emotions, as after Ras had the Wolf Clan retreat, the wolf man was blinded by anger and attempted to lash out at him for failing to free the rest of the Forbidden Five but ended up with a control device on his neck. When he noticed a captive Ras in the First Land, he prioritized his revenge on the tiger, an act that Rox labeled as foolish and impulsive.

After Thunderfang absorbed his soul, Nokt became a Hollow One with complete obedience to his master. Despite this, he appeared to retain much of his personality judging from his grin at the torment he caused to Cole when he stole the Finders' souls in the Land of Lost Things and his stubbornness to retreat in Imperium, which cost him much of the stolen souls for his master. He also appears to want to be free from Thunderfang, as he didn't bother to stop Lloyd and Arin from going into the cavern under the Well of the Lost, despite seeing them go under. In addition, when the Shatter Dragon fought the Arc Dragon of Focus, Nokt didn't seem to mind his master's fight and defeat, but accepted his fate, as he was at least free from his unwanted master.

Weapons and abilities

Weapons and abilities[]

Abilities[]

  • Brute Force: Nokt possesses the Elemental Power of Brute Force, which grants him enhanced physical strength, allowing him to throw energy-powered punches and project it as balls or bombs.
  • Elemental Powers (briefly): Nokt managed to obtain the powers of every Elemental Master that participated in the Tournament of the Sources by winning matches, before they were returned, and handled many of them with ease, such as Earth, Ice, Life, Lightning, Figment, Heat, Light, Reflex, Shockwave, Size, Sound, Water, and Wind.
  • Nokt using Shatterspin with against the

Nokt using Shatterspin with Rox against the Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons

Shatterspin: Since Nokt was one of its creators, he possesses an advanced Shatterspin skillset. Nokt is able to harness the powerful waves of the technique in a controlled manner of attack. Unlike others who rely on the Gong of Shattering and a Wolf Mask to perform Shatterspin, Nokt's advanced proficiency enables him to use the technique independently. When activating the technique, he often stomps his feet at least two or three times before his eyes glow red. At rare times, he is able to completely overpower the ninja's Rising Dragon techniques and even block their dragon beam.
  • Theroxian Magic: Being a member of the Forbidden Five, Nokt was highly skilled in Theroxian magic, but his abilities are currently unknown.
  • Wolf Physiology: As an anthropomorphic wolf from the Wyldness, Nokt has the following abilities:
    • Night vision: Like a regular wolf, Nokt possesses exceptional night vision, enabling him to see in dark environments like a cave or at night.
    • Superhuman strength: Nokt demonstrated superhuman strength, one being part of his elemental power and also being able lift Ras while he was flying without using his element.
    • Superhuman durability/endurance: Nokt has superhuman durability and endurance. He managed to take hits from Arin and Riyu, and then endure Ras throwing a hoverpad at him, but still get back up. Also, when Lloyd grabbed Nokt with his mech and slammed him to the ground, the wolf man recovered quickly but was unable to overpower the Green Ninja's Prismatic armor. The only thing that slowed him down was the control device and a Lightning blast.
    • Superhuman speed/stamina: In addition to his canine nature, Nokt can move at incredibly fast speed for a long time without tiring out.
    • Superhuman agility: Nokt has superhuman agility as during the tournament, he managed to flip while avoiding Nya's water blast and dodge her Rising Dragon attack a few times during the Blood Moon ritual.
    • Superhuman reflexes: Even without the elemental power of Reflex, Nokt has superhuman reflexes, being able to dodge Nya's water blast and keep up with Sora (who had Reflex) in their match. He later managed to dodge Zane's ice attacks on a moving train, even using his sword to deflect one ice blast. However, he was unable to keep up with small objects, like Sora's techno-bee.
    • Immense lung capacity: Being a wolf, Nokt has greater lung capacity unlike other humans. This allowed him to shrug off Cinder's smoke form in their sparring match and when fighting Sora, whereas the Imperian ended up choking when she tried to use Cinder's power.
    • Superhuman balance: When Nokt landed on Sora's jet, he managed to stand and walk on it without losing his balance.
  • Skilled combatant: Nokt is a dangerous and formidable combatant, outmatching most of the ninja. After escaping the Nether-Space, despite being rusty, he managed to defeat Nya and dodge her Rising Dragon. Several weeks under Ras' training, his skills improved where in his sparring match with Cinder, he managed to predict his smoke form and overpower him. During the Tournament, he managed to hold his resilience against his opponents, primarily relying on Shatterspin and harnessing the Elemental Powers of his rivals, as well as his own. After stealing all the elemental powers in the Tournament of the Sources, he became more dangerous, seeing as the ninja and Ras were unable to stop him (although Arin, Ras, and Kai managed to fight him up close and almost take him down) until Roby removed all the stolen Elemental Powers from him. Despite this, Nokt managed to hold against the Ninja, using the stolen Elemental Powers and Shatterspin to counteract Cole's large mech, Sora's glider, Arin's Spinjitzu, Ras' hammer, and attacks from behind. After escaping, despite being drained and caught in the portal gate explosion, he didn't suffer any side effects that hindered his abilities as after the rest of the Five recovered, he managed to battle Zane and P.I.X.A.L. on the prison train and defeat them both. In fact, had Nokt not prioritized his revenge on Ras over reclaiming the final Prismatic Blades, the Forbidden Five would have been easily victorious against the Ninja and their large vehicles.
    • Swordsmanship: Nokt is an exceptional sword fighter. While hunting for a Prismatic blade, he managed to fight both Zane and P.I.X.A.L. with his sword.
  • Leadership: Being one of the co-leaders of the Forbidden Five, Nokt acts as the second-in-command of the Five. As one of the leaders of the Wolf Clan, Nokt led the wolf warriors to launch attacks wherever the Forbidden Five wanted in the Wyldness, where he took down multiple tribes and fought a champion. In the present, he led his platoon of Dragonian Trackers to hunt the Red Prismatic Blade and later Spectral Dragonians to capture the souls of the Finders, Imperians, and Cole.
  • Chaos empowerment: Because Nokt gained powers from Thunderfang's dark dragon energy, he can gain more from Thunderfang.
    • Flight/Levitation: After receiving energy from the Sobrient Stone, Nokt has the ability to fly and levitate in the air while standing still.
    • Weatherly Presence: Nokt could generate a field that triggers chaotic storms, creating a dark weather phenomenon merely through his presence.
  • Ghost physiology: As a ghost, Nokt has the following abilities:
    • Immortality: Nokt is unable to die naturally due to lacking a mortal body.
    • Intangibility: Nokt could phase through solid matter.
    • Flight/Levitation: Nokt is permanently suspended in the air and can freely move through it and control his altitude.
    • Spectral Perception: Nokt can perceive hidden spiritual energy.
    • Spectrokinesis: Nokt can manipulate and control other ghosts, such as Spectral Dragonians.
    • Soul absorption: Nokt can absorb the souls of another individual via his magical flute.
    • Cold Presence: Nokt can make the temperature drop through his presence.
      • Caligogenesis: Nokt's presence can also cause a cold fog to appear.
    • Electronic Disruption: Nokt can cause electronics shut down.

Weapons[]

  • Katana: Nokt wielded a katana as his primary weapon, as seen in Bonzle's depiction.
  • Icon of the Source Dragon of Strength (briefly): Nokt briefly used Ras' hammer to take out several of the ninja.
  • Sword: After reuniting with the rest of the Forbidden Five, Nokt began wielding a sword as his primary weapon.
  • Red Prismatic Blade: Recovered from the prison train, Nokt used the red Prismatic Blade to cut one of Thunderfang's arm chains.
  • Magical flute: After Nokt fell under Thunderfang's control, he used a magical flute to steal the souls of Cole, the Finders, and Imperians.
Weaknesses

Weaknesses[]

  • Arrogance: Nokt often underestimated his opponents due to his strength as seen in his fight with Sora in the Tournament of the Sources.[11]
  • Control implant (formerly): From "Rising Ninja" to "The Final Game", Nokt had a control implant on the back of his head that would electrocute him if he disobeyed Ras. When Sora's Technology turned it into a techno-bee, he was unable to keep up with it since it had the same electrical shock power and because of his arrogance.

REPORTS FOR THE VILLAINS[]

  • Is an old Elemental Master. Which element? Unclear: What do you think?
  • Masters Shatterspin
  • Member of the rogue gang "Forbidden Five!"
  • Has super pointy fangs

He was trapped in the underworld for many centuries. Obviously, he was annoyed there, especially when he turned blue. The joy of being freed during the Blood Moon ritual is even shorter than the smallest break.

Because his four other gang thugs also fail to escape from this unspeakable realm...[12]

Villain of the Month![]

You'd better not get in this villain's way. With his Elemental Power of Brute Force, Nokt has defeated the ninja more than once, and even the Dragon Matriarch fell victim to him. He may have lost his soul to Thunderfang, but that only makes him all the more dangerous![13]

Etymology

Etymology[]

Nokt or Nokto means "night" in the constructed international language Esperanto.

Additionally, his name is most likely based on the Latin word "noct," which also means night.

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • Despite being an anthropomorphic wolf,[1] his appearance is very different from the ones previously seen in the Wyldness, having a particularly classic LEGO head instead of a molded animal head and a very similar face to the Keepers due to his mouth, teeth, and facial markings. His teeth also have a slight resemblance to the being depicted on the Gong of Shattering and the markings on his face are also reminiscent of the Munce.
    • Chris "Doc" Wyatt explained that Nokt's appearance was altered due to his corruption, which accounts for his dissimilarity to actual wolves such as the ones from the Wolf Tribe.[14]
  • His legs share similarities with the Oni, with the beads worn on the bottom of his robe resembling the ones worn on the Oni's necks, and his boots seemingly resembling the plated appearance of the Oni's legs.
  • He was the second person to control stolen elemental powers and use them for a ritual, the first being Master Chen.
  • LEGO's YouTube video, "How to Be a Spinjitzu Ninja" mistakenly identifies him as the Elemental Master of Shatterspin, but Shatterspin is not an element.
  • Nokt is a carnivore.[15]
  • With Nokt and Rox being the concealed assassins of the Arc Dragons, they are the ninth and tenth villains whose identities were undisclosed to the ninja. The first of these was Pythor, the Stranger who helped the Overlord; the second was Krux, who was revealed to be Dr. Saunders; the third was Harumi, who was the Quiet One; the fourth was Zane, who was the Ice Emperor; the fifth was Unagami, being Prime Empire, contrary to the initial belief that Milton Dyer was Unagami; the sixth was Vangelis, who was the Skull Sorcerer; the seventh was the Overlord, who assumed the title of Crystal King, prompting the ninja to question the true identity of the Crystal King; and the eighth was Ras' master as of "Rising Ninja."
    • In addition to Bleckt, Nokt and Rox are two of the three concealed antagonists featured in Season 2 of Dragons Rising.
  • When asked if Nokt could be cured from his corruption, Chris "Doc" Wyatt replied with "I think he's pretty far gone."[16]
  • Nokt often dislikes Drix.[17]
  • When asked who would win in an arm wrestling match between Cole and Nokt, Chris "Doc" Wyatt replied with Nokt.[18]
  • Nokt is physically the strongest member of the Forbidden Five.[19]
  • According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, Nokt would do anything for his sister, Rox.[20]
  • Despite acquiring all of the Elemental Powers in the Tournament of the Sources (minus Plants due to Zant-Tanz's absence), Nokt seems to prefer using Wind, Shockwave, Lightning, and Energy the most. He used Wind as a traversal ability, Lightning & Shockwave to attack, and Energy to both attack and counter.
  • Nokt shares some similarities with Kai and Lloyd:
    • Both Nokt and Kai have a scar on their eyebrows.
    • Both Nokt and Kai are committed to their siblings.
    • All three use katanas as their primary weapons, although Nokt later switched to a sword and Lloyd switched to a dao.
    • Both Nokt and Kai have a sister who is also part of their team.
    • Both Nokt and Kai at some point controlled a multitude of elemental powers after the conclusion of a tournament.
    • Both Nokt and Lloyd possessed multiple elements at some point.
    • Both Nokt and Lloyd are leaders of their respective groups (alongside Rox).
  • He is stronger than the Omega.[21] However, in a direct confrontation, the winner would depend on the conditions of the fight.[22]
  • While the age difference between Nokt and Rox is only a couple of years,[23] it is unclear who is older.[24]
    • In the Italian and Korean dub, he is referred to as Rox's older brother, while in the Dutch dub, he is referred to as her younger brother.
  • While he wears a cape in the series, he wears shoulder pads in the sets.
  • While the episodes and most descriptions portray Rox as the leader of the Forbidden Five,[25][26] Chris "Doc" Wyatt said that Nokt also holds a leadership role within the group.[4]
  • Nokt can howl like a real wolf if he wants to.[27]
