Plot
Plot[]
Kai enters the Monastery of Spinjitzu dragging behind him a big bag of mail. Finding Lloyd in the courtyard, he tells him that the Postman had stopped by and notes of how angry he was for having to drag the mailbag up the mountain. Arin, Sora and Wyldfyre then came in also dragging three more mailbags behind them, which left them exhausted. Arin asks if the mail is due to Mr. Frohicky not paying the bills, Kai reveals that it is actually fan mail that had been undelivered since the ninja were scattered in the Merge.
Lloyd suggests that they get the other ninja to join them in reading the mail but Wyldfyre thinks that Jay should not get involved, believing he doesn't have any fans, but was surprised when Kai says that they all have fans. Taking out a red envelope, he reads a letter he thinks is for him but is actually meant for Wyldfyre, who finds a letter to Kai from Skylor. Upon reading it, she discovers that Kai has been writing love poems to Skylor, prompting an embarrassed Kai to hastily get Lloyd to read his letter.
Lloyd finds that the letter he had gotten is from Misako, who has tried to invite her son over to tea since the Merge but he has been too busy to respond, which she understands. Arin advises Lloyd to get in better touch with Misako, and the Green Ninja agrees to call his mom more often. Kai then begins talking of when Misako left Lloyd at Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys while she was away on her expeditions to learn more of his destiny as the Green Ninja, to Lloyd's discomfort.
Arin was amazed to find that he had also gotten fan mail of his own but was dismayed when he finds that it is from Kreel, who even mailed the ninja (except Sora) coupons for a 10% of a limited selection of items from her junkyard, though she again got their names wrong when she mailed them. Sora also finds fan mail of her own (which is from Dareth) but immediately felt hurt when she finds that she has been called the worst ninja and questioned on why Technology is an element and why she lacks a signature color of her own unlike the other ninja. Moreover, Dareth has also expressed disapproval of her acceptance into the team even when there are other candidates that he considered "better-trained" than her.
Annoyed by Dareth's letter, Lloyd admits to Sora that Dareth tends to get stuff wrong at times. Kai reminds the younger ninja not to take fan mail seriously, with Lloyd adding in by advising them not to let what was written get under their skin while also not letting the good parts get into their heads. He then reads to them a letter he had gotten long ago from Master Wu, which he sometimes carry as a reminder. The letter reads that on the day Lloyd was born, Garmadon had told Wu that he feels that Lloyd has the potential to become a better man than he had ever been. Wu in his letter recaps his brother's corruption and of his failure to resist. He wrote that all the terrible words Garmadon had told Lloyd back then were only lies and hate, but acknowledges the difficulty of avoiding such harsh words told by those close to them and not from just strangers. He then encourages Lloyd to shut out the hate to the best of his ability and instead fill himself with positivity, love and light.
After Lloyd finishes reading Wu's letter, Sora was touched by its contents, having come to understand that it is normal for someone to have self-doubt. Kai then gets the idea of getting the ninja to using mean letters for target practice whenever they get one, which they all happily agree to.
