“Your life experiences, your connections... I feared they would bring you down, but perhaps they led you to unlock this part of your being.”

— Arc Dragon of Life explaining to Lloyd how he unlocked his new form, "The Heartbeat of all the Realms"

Draconus Form,^[1]^[2]^[3] also referred to as True Form,^[4]^[2] were a powerful ability connected to the Source Dragon of Life through the Elemental Power of Life,^[5] and can be shared with and accessed by other Elemental Masters through their connection to the current Master of Life.

When Lloyd disappeared after getting the Weapon of Desolation under control, the ability to assume Draconus Form was lost.

History

History[]

The Heartbeat of all the Realms[]

After the Ritual of Unrooting, Lloyd unlocked his Draconus Form with his True Potential and arrived at the tree house hideout, fighting the Elemental Monsters that were attacking the Arc Dragon of Life, Euphrasia, Zane, and Arin, surprising them. After defeating the Elemental Monsters, the Arc Dragon of Life was surprised, suggesting that Lloyd was the first to activate this form because of his life experiences and connections.

Birthright[]

Lloyd arrived in the City of Imperium with his Draconus Form, only to return to normal, much to Beatrix's surprise. Then, he returned back to his Draconus Form and started to fight against Beatrix. As the fight continued, Lloyd struggled. However, he blasted a wave of Life, allowing Zane, Jay, Kai, and Nya to access the Draconus Form. As the ninja fought against the Elemental Monsters and Loyalists, Arin secured the Weapon of Desolation and sucked the creatures back into it with the help of Cole. After Beatrix's defeat, the ninja captured most of the remaining Loyalists with the help of their Draconus Form, with a few like Sora's parents managing to hide.

After the Loyalist assault, Cole also unlocked his Draconus Form.

Monster in the Monastery[]

After accidentally unleashing a Mutation Monster, Jay, Kai and Cole tells Zane to help them use the Draconus Form by tricking Lloyd, which Zane does by convincing Lloyd to draw a portrait off him in Draconus Form. As Lloyd and Zane transforms, Jay, Kai and Cole transform as well and go back to the hangar bay to defeat the monster, only to find it missing. Then they go around the Monastery of Spinjitzu to find the monster, while hiding the fact that they are using the Draconus Forms.

After seeing the Mutation Monster crashing their dinner, the trio use their Draconus Forms against it, only for Arin to arrive with the Weapon of Desolation and sucking the monster back in it. Then the trio try to sneak off, only to get caught by Lloyd, who is furious about the whole situation.

Abilities[]

Humanoid Dragon Physiology - Users of Draconus Form become humanoid dragons.
- Enhanced Strength - The Draconus Form grants its user enhanced strength, as Lloyd was capable of forcing a Mutation Monster a large distance away with a single punch.
  - Strong Tail - As seen with Lloyd, the user's enhanced strength extends to their tails, which allow them to smack opponents aside.
- Flight - Users of Draconus Form are able to fly due to the wings that manifested during the process.
  - Enhanced Speed - The Draconus Form allows the user to travel at high speeds, capable of exceeding the speed of Zane's chopper.
- Enhanced Durability/Endurance - The Draconus Form grants the user extremely great durability and endurance as shown when Lloyd survived numerous blows and elemental attacks from several Elemental Monsters all at once.
  - Stamina Enhancement - Draconus Form also greatly enhances the user’s stamina as seen when Lloyd fought Beatrix and the Elemental Monsters all at once for a long period of time without showing any signs of fatigue until he was briefly overpowered.

- Enhanced Elemental Powers - The user has their Elemental Power heavily enhanced while in Draconus Form.

Power Restoration - As seen with Lloyd, Masters of Life are able to restore the powers of Elemental Masters in Draconus Form.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses[]

Proximity - Users of Draconus Form need to be near the Master of Life in order to access the ability.^[6]^[7] They are also incapable of accessing it unless the Master of Life is currently in Draconus Form.^[8]
Fatigue - Prolonged use of Draconus Form can drain the user. Being the Master of Life, Lloyd is less tired than other users after using it but is nevertheless also affected.

Trivia

Trivia[]

They are referred to as "Dragon Form" in the sets.
When questioned about the official name of the form, since the term was not explicitly said in the show while "Draconus Form" is from a book and "Dragon Form" was also used for the dragon forms in Crystalized, Chris "Doc" Wyatt acknowledged that the name sparked much discussion.^[2]
They share similarities to the Dragon Form, though the relation between the two is currently unknown.
- However, Dragon Form could only be accessed by those who have one of the four elements of Creation or dragon blood,^[9] while Draconus Form doesn't appear to have the same restriction as Water is not one of the four main elements of creation, yet Nya has no problem accessing the Draconus Form like the others.
- When Nya, Kai, Jay, and Zane unlock theirs thanks to Lloyd, the transformation sequence is similar to that of the Dragon Form transformation scene. This is even more evident due to the backgrounds looking similar.
- Both have the symbols of their names on their chest.
The Draconus Form makes the user's voice deeper, save for whenever a user grunts.
Lloyd has used Draconus Form the most amount of times on screen out of all the ninja while Nya and Cole have used it the least.
This ability marks the first time the dragon energy-powered face first featured with the Merge gi is seen onscreen.
Cole is the only one not to transform during the Loyalist assault as he used his golem form during the battle, but he receives the form off-screen.
They have claws in the show, which are only accessible in set form in the Season 4 Part 2 sets. However, not only are the claw pieces gold, they also have the extended claws.
- Kai and Lloyd are the only ninja to receive claws in the sets.
Despite the Arc Dragon of Life’s comment, Draconus Form is not meant to be the same thing as Lloyd’s True Potential with the element of Life, or something that is directly tied to his dragon heritage.^[5]
- It is possible for Lloyd to combine Draconus Form with Oni Form with enough training.^[10]
Only Lloyd, Kai and Zane got full transformation sequences, with Jay and Nya only receiving partial ones while Cole didn’t receive one in any capacity.
