Plot
Plot[]
Sora, Frak, Lloyd, and Riyu travel together in the First Land. Sora and Frak argue over the best color combination for their gi. Lloyd interrupts them, saying that they had to end it but under his breath, states that green was the best color for gi. A few moments later, Lloyd decides to make camp. After a while, Sora remembers when Arin taught her how to light a fire and that his absence is heavier than it seems. She wonders how Zane can succeed to bear the lack of P.I.X.A.L.. Frak does not understand; he thinks Zane is just a machine, but Lloyd says Zane is much more than a machine and that there is still more to learn about Zane and his emotions.
Meanwhile, Zane and Zanth are exploring another part of the First Land. Zanth starts dancing with a bird. When Zane notices that Zanth was dancing with the little bird, Zane says that he used to dance with birds too, and that it turned out to be weird. Zanth starts flying over rocks with Zane on his back, until Zane notices another monastery. They pass the gate, and see the Freebooters emerge from a Portal gate. They start arguing among themselves. Zane confronts Rapton and they start attacking him while carrying out a robbery. Zane quickly calculates the dynamics and freezes there in a second. After the pirates flee in a train, Zanth picks up Zane and they chase after them. Zane gets ready to jump, and Zanth helps him swing onto it. He lands safety and goes inside the train. He finds a Techno-cocoon, which Zane opens and finds P.I.X.A.L. inside.
Meanwhile, at the Crossroads, Fedulian carries a cart in his shop when he finds a shuriken in his door. Fedulian pulls it out and moves to the alley behind his shop. He meets a mysterious person, and asks the person for the historical relic he found. The person first asks for money and then gives him a golden chalice belonging to the Oni. Fedulian says that someone is asking for the person's services and wants to meet in two days.
Meanwhile, Zane hugs P.I.X.A.L. but she is confused why Zane is acting as such. Zane explains how it has been years since they last saw each other, what happened during The Merge and the oddities that have happened since then. Then Zane tells her about the new ninja and Riyu. Then, after a moment of reunion, the Freebooters arrive, and they begin to fight. P.I.X.A.L and Zane managed to defeat a number of Freebooters before escaping with a smoke bomb.
While Zane and P.I.X.A.L. are on the edge of the train, ready to jump, Nokt accompanied by a number of Dragonian Warriors, arrives on the train to find a Prismatic Blade. Zane and P.I.X.A.L. decide to stop Nokt from taking the Prismatic blade, meanwhile, the Dragonian Warriors attack the Freebooters, while Nokt searches for the Prismatic Blade.
Just as Nokt successfully finds the Prismatic Blade, Zane manages to take it before Nokt does. A battle then ensues between the two while P.I.X.A.L. and the Freebooters fight the Dragonian Warriors. While fighting Nokt, a Dragonian Warrior flies into Zane, causing him to drop the Prismatic Blade. Another Dragonian Warrior grabs it and attempts to pass it to Nokt, but P.I.X.A.L. gets hold of it. The fight continues on the roof of the train. Nokt eventually uses Shatterspin to kick P.I.X.A.L., letting him get hold of the blade and leaving P.I.X.A.L. dangling off the side of the train. A Dragonian Warrior takes out a metal covering and stabs the train's wiring at Nokt's command, causing the train to move at rapid speeds.
Nokt and the Dragonian Warriors flee while Zane tells P.I.X.A.L. he is going to try and override the train controls. Zane connects two wires together, thinking they would stop the train, but it does not work. Running out of time, Zane plugs himself into the control panel, stopping the train right before they crash. Zane falls off the train after sustaining significant damage. P.I.X.A.L. runs to him and tries to keep him alive. Zane says they must stop the Forbidden Five.
Elsewhere at the algae farmers' village, the sky darkens as Rox and the Dragonian Warriors fly towards it. The Dragonian Warriors attack the locals as Rox points her arm towards the ocean. She dives into the water, grabs the Crab tooth, and shatters it, revealing the Green Prismatic Blade. She holds up the blade and laughs.

Trivia
Trivia[]
Cultural references[]
- The title is a parody of the multiple films with the same title The Great Train Robbery.
Continuity[]
- Lloyd telling Sora and Frak that he isn't going to get involved in their debate on what color of gi is the best is similar to Wu saying he wasn't going to get involved in Nya's relationship drama with Jay and Cole as seen in "Versus".
- Frak worrying that Ras might be brainwashing Arin is similar to when Kai, Jay, Zane and Cole were worried that Lloyd was getting brainwashed by his schoolmates in "Double Trouble".
- Zane telling Zanth to stop dancing with the bird because it's weird is a callback to when he did the same thing in "Home" when encountering the Falcon outside the Monastery after the food fight at dinner and Kai, Jay and Cole were telling him he was being weird all throughout the episode.
- The Party toaster reappears as one of the pieces of loot that the Freebooters stole.
- This episode marks the first time P.I.X.A.L. has appeared in Ninjago: Dragons Rising physically and her first physical appearance since "Roots." She is also the ninth named character apart from the ninja from the original series to have returned for Dragons Rising. The other characters are:
- Gulch from Master of the Mountain who appeared in "Wyldly Inappropriate."
- The Mechanic from Skybound who appeared in "The Mech Master."
- Fugi-Dove from Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu who appeared in "The Blood Moon."
- Tox and Mr. Pale from Tournament of Elements who appeared in "Enter the City of Temples."
- Neuro and Chamille from Tournament of Elements who appeared in "The Sword Shatters."
- Morro from Tournament of Elements and mainly Possession who appeared in "The Spectral Lands."
- P.I.X.A.L. first appeared in Rebooted.
- The music that plays when P.I.X.A.L. is released from her techno-cocoon was first heard in "The Surge" the same episode that introduced P.I.X.A.L. to the franchise and also Borg Industries.
- P.I.X.A.L.'s first line in Ninjago: Dragons Rising being, "Primary Interactive X-ternal Assistant Life-Form now online" is almost word for word exactly the same as her first line in the original series, "Welcome to Borg Industries, I'm P.I.X.A.L., Cyrus' Primary Interactive X-ternal Assistant Life-Form".
- Coincidentally, both times "Primary Interactive X-ternal Assistant Life-Form" was used for P.I.X.A.L.'s first line just so happened to be in Season 3 of both series, which are the same seasons that introduce P.I.X.A.L..
- When Zane releases P.I.X.A.L. from the techno-cocoon, they greet each other with a spin-hug similar to the one they shared in "Compatible" after P.I.X.A.L. woke Zane from his coma.
- When Zane was damaged from stopping the train, the music from his sacrifice in "The Titanium Ninja", "Dead Man's Squall" and "The Message" plays.
- The Crab tooth from "Gangs of the Sea" was revealed to have been holding the Green Prismatic Blade inside.
