Arin's neighborhood

“I've never been out of my old neighborhood. The Crossroads just grew up around the area where my house used to be.”

The neighborhood was a district situated in the suburbs of Ninjago City. It was unfortunately destroyed during the Merge being the epicenter. In its place, the Crossroads, the central hub of the Merged Realms, was constructed.

Arin resided with his parents in a quaint neighborhood not too distant from Ninjago City, rarely venturing beyond its borders.^[1] Arin often spent time on the porch, engaging in detective games or enjoying detective stories alongside his parents.^[2]^[3]

One day, Arin was imagining himself being trained by Wu when he was confronted by two bullies who mocked him and the ninja. Just then, Frak arrived and frightened the bullies away.^[4] After that encounter, Arin and Frak bonded over their shared admiration for the ninja, and they quickly became friends. Frak even showed Arin how to bake pies together. Unfortunately, Frak and his family had to move away, which caused them to lose contact with each other.^[5]

The Merge: Part 1 (flashback)[]

Arin was engrossed in practicing his ninja skills with a broom, under the watchful eyes of his parents. Suddenly, the epicenter of the Merge materialized directly above Arin's neighborhood, resulting in the violent tearing apart from the surroundings. Urged by his mother, Arin sought refuge indoors as his parents went inside to find safety amidst the chaos. The winds swept Arin off his feet, only to be rescued by Lloyd and the rest of the ninja. Together with a handful of other residents, Arin was escorted back to his neighborhood, witnessing the aftermath of the catastrophic event. As the Merge drew to a close, Arin gazed upon the desolate landscape that was once his home, realizing he was the sole known survivor of the calamity. The only remnants left standing were the bench where his parents had been seated moments before. With the realms now united, the Crossroads was built directly over Arin's neighborhood. It became the most sought-after district in the Ninjago City metropolitan area.
