The ninja training

The ninja training

Egalt and Rontu overlook the Ninja's training before Egalt notices Arin lagging behind and not concentrating.

At the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Bonzle intends to go to Mysterium to meet her creator with Cole and Zane while Geo, Fritz, and Spitz stay at the monastery, briefly stopping the two kids playing in the SA Mark 01. However, with the realms merged and no reliable maps, they have no idea where Mysterium is.

At the training plateau of the Dragon Masters, Lloyd approaches Arin as he tries to use Object Spinjitzu, but the latter is discouraged by Egalt's harsh criticism, believes he'll get demoted to First Fang, and doesn't want to rely on patience as they're on a deadline with the Blood Moon coming and believes he should have never been a ninja. But Lloyd tells Arin that although the latter's path is different, he has the potential to be the greatest ninja. As Arin wished he had Lloyd's confidence, the latter admits that he had been getting more visions that are interfering in his confidence to face Ras.

Egalt's scale

Egalt's scale

Egalt watches over Kai and Nya, who had been paired to get as many stones from a pile as they can to throw through one of the hoops on opposing sides, but their competitiveness causes Egalt to go on an early break. Still annoyed at being unable to train on her broken leg, Wyldfyre rants on it to a rock that she drew a face on before noticing Egalt passing by and approaches him, stating how he is the only one she met has a hatred for humans and tries to help change his mind by saying how great they are with Egalt stating few humans have ever achieved Rising Dragon and that the ninja are wasting their time before leaving while pondering Wyldfyre's retort on teaching them despite his hatred before she noticed he had shedded a scale with blackness on it. Overlooking Sora and Riyu's training on standing on posts, Rontu tries to encourage the latter about having potential before noticing Sora is overthinking as she has an Elemental Power, but doesn't know Spinjitzu, is jealous of Arin knowing Spinjitzu, and thinks of herself as the weak link. As Sora remarks herself as the worst, Rontu explains she has seen worst and the former is putting too much pressure on herself and encourages her to find some calm.

The ninja come across a poison cloud

In the Crossroads, wearing disguises, Cole, Zane, and Bonzle approach Fedulian, despite Zane's protests, for a map to Mysterium, which he hands over. But as they leave, Fedulian speaks to a client about the three, claiming the latter knows who they are and they'll be at their location soon.

While flying on Jiro, they discover the map is not accurate as they're coming across a poisonous cloud, which forces them to land with Jiro injured from the poison. As Cole finds himself wondering if he should've brought Bonzle along, Zane discovers the markings on the map had disappeared before eventually continuing forward.

Back at the dojo, Egalt watches Lloyd and Arin as it was their turn on throwing the most stones in their hoops, but Lloyd's more precise skill in Spinjitzu was giving him an advantage over Arin, who, without concentrating and lacking stability, started to throw stones all over the arena, one hitting Egalt, rendering him unconscious. Upon recovering, Egalt discovers he may no longer see out of his right eye, and, to everyone's shock, harshly demotes Arin to First Fang as a consequence.

Cole, Zane, and Bonzle move along the desert with Jiro using his wings to shade the three from the sun, until they come across a well, which was soon knocked aside by a puppet, who knocks them all out. When they came to, Cole, Zane, Bonzle, and Jiro discover they were on some stage with many Crossroad citizens and algae farmers with an Imperium barrier blocking their path before the individual responsible makes himself known: Dorama. Although disappointed to see the ninja he caught were not the ones he personally met, he explains after Imperium's fall, he had to find a new way to make a living before eventually coming up with the stage that goes with his new villainy: Dorama's Academy for Acting, "recruiting" students with Fedulian's help, intending to make them stunt people in his future acts. He begins their "lessons" by having fire shoot out from underneath the floor. Jiro defends the citizens and farmers while Cole, Zane, and Bonzle try to find a way to escape before Bonzle, being a spell, easily passes through the barrier, to Dorama's shock before he summons his puppet. Reaching the panel, Bonzle shuts down the barrier for Jiro to get the citizens and farmers to safety while Cole and Zane take on Dorama, who summons his color schemed Imperium Drones, which the two easily take down before Cole uses his Elemental Earth Mech to take on the puppet. But with Dorama having modified the puppet to withstand even his Earth attacks, Cole lures it to the stage, where Zane freezes the floor to make it trip before Cole sends support beams landing on top of it, a stage light also knocking Dorama down. Leaving Dorama to the citizens and villagers to turn him over to the authorities, Cole, Zane, Bonzle, and Jiro continue their way to Mysterium, using Dorama's map. Coming across a portal, they pass though it with little hesitation before emerging to see a monastery similar to the ninja's own.

Trivia

Trivia[]

Continuity[]

  • This episode marks the third time Zane wears a trench coat and fedora. The first two being "Ninjago Confidential" and "Wyldly Inappropriate." It also marks the second episode he wears a fake moustache, the first being the latter episode.

Errors[]

  • When Zane, Cole and Bonzle all see the well in the desert, Zane points out how it can't be a mirage since they can all see it, but in "A Rocky Start" as they were escaping from the Beetles, Zane, Cole and the other Ninja all witness the same mirage being a cluster of rocks.
  • Despite Kai's Dragon Hook having been transformed in his Climber Mech in "Beyond the Phantasm Cave," Kai is seen using it in this episode.
