Overview
The Shurikens of Ice were one of the four Golden Weapons used to create Ninjago, and formerly used by Zane. Years after the Oni's invasion, the Shurikens of Ice and the rest of the Golden Weapons were stolen from the Council of the Crystal King for a ritual, being corrupted into the Shurikens of Destruction, and before then being purified by Zane and unified with the other Golden Weapons During the final prophecy of Quanish the Elder.
History
History[]
The Shurikens were first used by First Spinjitzu Master along with the other three Golden Weapons to create Ninjago.
Battle Between Brothers (flashback)[]
When the First Spinjitzu Master died, he entrusted the weapons to his two sons, Garmadon and Wu. Garmadon wanted power for himself and attempted to take them. Wu defeated him and banished him to the Underworld. Wu then hid the four weapons, including the Shurikens.
King of Shadows[]
When Master Wu's four ninja proteges, Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane were looking for the weapons to keep them from Lord Garmadon, they came upon the Shurikens in the Ice Temple. Zane was lifted to them by the other three ninja, as they were suspended from the ceiling. They then used a frozen Zane as a sled to escape from the Ice Dragon guardian.
Later, in Forest of Tranquility, the ninja were ambushed by Samukai, who stole the three weapons they had found so far, including the Shurikens and took them to the Underworld.
Weapons of Destiny[]
Samukai used the Shurikens and the other weapons to confront Master Wu and gain the Sword of Fire. Samukai used the Shurikens to freeze the Sword in the ground, making Wu an easy target. After he defeated Master Wu, Samukai picked up the sword, intending to use all four weapons to rebel and defeat Lord Garmadon in an attempt to commit treason. However, the weapons' powers were too great for him, and he disappeared in a puff of smoke, sent to the Departed Realm. The weapons made a vortex through time and space, which Garmadon used to escape. Zane then picked up the Shurikens to defend Ninjago from any future plans that Lord Garmadon may have.
After the pilot episodes[]
After Lord Garmadon escaped the Underworld, the four ninja took up the weapons in order to defend Ninjago. Each ninja took the weapon corresponding to their element, so the Shurikens were in possession of Zane. The Ice Dragon, Shard, guarded them by becoming Zane's mount and pet.
The Titanium Ninja[]
The Nindroids succeed getting the Weapons of Spinjitzu and burned them into the Overlord's ultimate weapon. Later, the Golden Master started to destroy New Ninjago City with his newly formed mech made out of the gold from the Weapons of Spinjitzu. However, the Nindroids were not the only ones to escape; the ninja used their elemental shields, and traveled out of space. The Golden Master got frustrated and planned to defeat the ninja. He performed his own Spinjitzu, trying to stop the ninja from going into the Temple of Fortitude. He, however, failed. The heroes of Ninjago put on armor to resist the Golden Power from him. He was still able to grab all the ninja except Zane. The White Ninja eventually destroyed himself and the Overlord.
Endings[]
Kai reforged the Golden Armor and gave the Shurikens to Zane who used them in the battle against the Oni. They were rendered powerless following the Tornado of Creation.[1]
The Fall of the Monastery[]
The Shurikens were in their hiding place in the secret compartment before Aspheera opened it and The Mechanic took them for himself.
Darkness Within[]
The Mechanic took the Shurikens of Ice back to the Crystal Temple. Later during the ritual, the Shurikens and the other Golden Weapons were crystalized and powered-up, becoming the Weapons of Destruction. With their power, the Overlord took physical form.
The Coming of the King[]
After being bestowed with new powers by the Overlord, both Mister F and the Mechanic shared a Shuriken of Destruction. When Lloyd evaded the Council, they both used their individual Shurikens to try and stop him.
Quittin' Time![]
After finding the crashed Destiny's Bounty, the Mechanic used his Shuriken of Destruction in combat against Jay and Nya. Unfortunately, his attack was deflected by Jay, and the shuriken exploded into a mass of Infectious crystals after landing at the Mechanic's feet, briefly incapacitating him.
Dragon Form[]
Mister F launched two attacks on Zane using his Shuriken of Destruction, but Zane managed to catch it. The shuriken temporarily affected Zane, but he quickly channeled his Elemental Power of Ice into it, cleansing it from the Overlord's corruption and reenergizing it with Ice. As a result, the Mechanic's Shuriken of Destruction was also restored and was later recovered by Zane.
Roots[]
The shurikens were destroyed when the ninja combined the four Golden Weapons together, freeing Ice.
Abilities
Abilities[]
The Shurikens of Ice were able to freeze anything on contact and shoot ice beams. They were also able to form Zane's Snowmobile when the White Ninja focused his thoughts.
The Shurikens of Ice also return back to Zane after being thrown, similar to a boomerang.

Trivia[]
- Zane wields two Shurikens of Ice as his original playable variant, 2113 Zane.
- In the 2015 sets, the Shurikens were redesigned to look closer to the TV show.
- The Shurikens appear to share a connection with each other, where if something happens to one, the other is also affected. This is seen when Zane purifies Mister F's Shuriken and the Mechanic's Shuriken is also purified.
- Though there are two Shurikens, both Samukai and Garmadon appear to be holding only one of them while holding all four weapons. Samukai previously held both Shurikens in his bottom two arms while fighting Wu, but only appeared to have one of them when he picked up the Sword of Fire after defeating him.
- It is unknown if this is simply an error or if the two Shurikens can "combine" in some way.
