Trivia
Trivia[]
- In terms of its piece count, this is the fourth largest Ninjago set. The third biggest set, 70620 Ninjago City, narrowly beats it by only 16 pieces.
- Several minifigures are remakes of previously-exclusive figures released through the years.
- The Postman, previously released in 70751 Temple of Airjitzu in 2015.
- Krux and Acronix, previously released in 70626 Dawn of Iron Doom in 2017.
- Mystake, previously released in 70657 Ninjago City Docks in 2018.
- Several minifigures are remakes of previous figures, with notable exclusive parts.
- Faith, who appeared as "Heavy Metal" in several 2018 sets, which lacked her printed face without any head garments. Though her new head print is exclusive, the torso and legs - despite also being exclusive - are nearly identical to her original parts.
- Several minifigures are entirely exclusive to this set, and have never appeared as figures before.
- The First Spinjitzu Master. Though he's been depicted various ways throughout the TV show, the figure draws heavy inspiration from his season ten cameo, in which he wears a black training outfit.
- Young Wu. The minifigure draws inspiration from Wu's original Legacy minifigure, but this version's robe printing is more accurate to the TV show.
- Young Garmadon. He sports an exclusive torso, legs, and a new two-sided face.
- Dr. Julien. Having debuted in the TV show's second season in late-2012, for thirteen years a Dr. Julien minifigure was highly desired by Ninjago fans as one of Ninjago's few notable early characters that still never received an official minifigures.
- Dr. Saunders. His face was released with the original Krux's double-sided head, although the torso and limbs from Day of the Departed and season seven were never released. The figure lacks his distinct beard from the TV show, instead opting for a printed beard akin to the original figure.
- Kabuki Harumi. Sporting her vengestone buyer disguise from season fifteen, complete with an exclusive torso and double-sided face, one half of which depicts her kabuki mask.
- The Postman's head is accurate to his WildBrain design. The original figure had a mustache like his show counterpart (WILFilm ApS) while this one does not. As a result, fans can also create a Noble minifigure, as both characters use the same face onscreen.
- Krux and Acronix are the fourth and fifth main antagonists to be reimagined in Legacy sets, after Lord Garmadon, Pythor and The Overlord. The original figures are some of Ninjago's rarest - incentivizing the designers to give newer fans a chance to get them.
- The new figures also fix flaws with the original versions, with Acronix no longer having an earpiece, dangling ear buds or an iPod, to depict his past appearance. Krux's legs no longer have half an hourglass at the top, fixing a design flaw with the figure's original young appearance.
- The set contains a loyalist and the Loyalist Leader, marking the first time that a Legacy set contains villains from Ninjago's concurrent wave.
- Despite the Old Town being a part of Ninjago City in the show, this set doesn't connect to previous City sets, instead striking a similar tone to the large, independent structure build of 71814 Tournament Temple City.
- Originally on Lego.com, The Old Town's 3rd digital instruction booklet either had an incorrect link or was missing altogether depending on the region.
- Wu, Garmadon, and Krux appear in the set twice, having minifigures of their younger versions included.
