Plot

Plot[]

In a dream, Cragger is at the Fangs in the Gorge of Etenral Depth when he hears his parents calling for help, he follows and finds Crominus and Crunket slumped against the rock wall, they then tell Cragger to not give up and to make them proud, Crominus tries to tell him to not listen to his sister but the dream ends before he gets the words out. Cragger then wakes up and sees he is locked up in the Wolf Camp, he then asks Crawley and Crug what happened and they remind him that the Wolves hurt Crooler and that he retaliated, but when he asks if he succeeded they tell him not exactly, Worriz then declares that the Wolves will now be able to rule all of Chima, Crawley then tells Cragger not to worry as they have a plan, Crug is then seen sitting inside of a kiddie pool. At the Lion Temple, Laval urges to his father that they must help the Crocodiles, Lagravis agrees but reminds Laval that they can't not while they have so little CHI, he then says he is planning a meeting with the other tribes but he isn't so sure the others will help after all the trouble the Crocs caused, but Laval doesn't let this stop him, he goes to get on his Speedor but not before Lagravis tells him not to do anything rash which Longtooth laughs at.

Laval then sends out a Lion roar to Eris at the Eagle Spire, on their Speedorz, Eris says that she doesn't want to help Cragger after all he did to the tribes, but Laval tells her that Cragger hasn't been himself and that he wasn't a jerk before when they were best friends, Laval then tells Eris that despite Cragger being a jerk, he is still Laval's best friend and he isn't going to abandon him when he needs him most. Laval and Eris then arrive at the Raven Town to find ShadoWind, after the cancellation of all Speedor races, the Ravens built a bootleg version of the track and some of the best racers go there whenever a competition happens, Razar then shows up and offers to take Laval and Eris to ShadoWind after overhearing them. Crooler then arrives at the Wolf Camp, she tries to talk to Worriz but they just throw her into the cage with Cragger, she then reveals that she was given a bell by the Wolves and she rings it and tells Winzar that she wants fresh mud, some swamp leaves and a fruit shake, Cragger asks her how she did that and she says that she told the Wolves about the other tribes meeting up to help free the Crocs and that if the tribes believe they are being mistreated then that will be the most likely thing to start a battle and the Wolves don't want that until they repaired their vehicles, she then says that they don't have a choice regarding this outcome so they stationed an observer over the camp, Cragger then tries out the bell and tasks Winzar to heat up Crug's pool.

At the fake Grand Arena in Raven Town, some Speedor racers are they to compete, just before the race start, Laval asks Razar how they got ShadoWind to come out there, Razar says that even he needed to get gear from somewhere, Razcal then shows off what appears to be ShadoWind's helmet, Razar then says that Laval can see the rest of him once he wins the race. Razcal then begins the race and the racers set off with Bezar already out of the race, Razar then makes it past the first jump by shooting the target to the eagles, but Eris is not so lucky and clips on one of them, Bladvic and Gorzan then crash after trying to bump each other off, Laval however makes it past the eagles and catches up to Razar who tells him that since the Ravens built the track, the winner doesn't need to cross the finish line first but jump into the Ravens' nest, the two are neck and neck but Laval makes it as Razar overshoots the nest, however he hasn't the least bit mad because he still made money through the merchandise they sold during the race, so he lost on purpose to boost sales, Laval then asks Razar about ShadoWind.

At the Lion Temple, Skinnet tells the tribes that the Wolves made fruit shakes and desserts for the Crocs, they take it as a sign that if Crocs are being treated well, then they is no need to interfere. The Crocs are enjoying themselves with some cupcakes and sandwiches, Winzar then asks Worriz when they can destroy the Crocs, Worriz tells him to wait a little longer so the tribes think they are nice, then once they are finished repairing their vehicles they can strike at the Crocs and the tribes. Meanwhile, Laval is still waiting for ShadoWind and thinks Razar is bluffing, but in the end ShadoWind does turn up, he speaks for a split second which Razar shushes and reminds him that ShadoWind doesn't talk, Laval then tells ShadoWind that he will need his help in breaking into the Wolf Camp to free the Crocs, so they head out but ShadoWind seems to be having problems and Eris asks if he is doing alright, but he seems to have gotten the hang of it and they head out for real.

Eris grows suspicious as ShadoWind seems to be different than the last time she saw him, she notes that he appears to be smaller than before, his Speedor is different and his clothes are too, plus he is driving differently, but Laval assures her that he would know if that wasn't really ShadoWind, she accepts for now but is still skeptical. Winzar is doing a puppet show for the Crocs but Cragger says they are bored and tells Winzar to have the Croc puppet hit the Wolf one, he growls but Cragger warns him about the observer on the cliff behind him so he does it anyway. Wilhurt then asks Worriz how much longer it will be before they stop having to serve the Crocs and he says a little bit longer as repairs are taking longer than expected and that they used up all their CHI just to get the Crocs locked up, Wilhurt then swears that once they get their strength back, he will crush the Crocs. Laval, Eris and ShadoWind are nearby atop another cliff and Laval sees the torture the Wolves are putting the Crocs through, he then says they need to go down there and get them but Eris tells him there are too many Wolves, Laval then tells ShadoWind to do what he did last time they were at the Wolf Camp and he and Eris will do the rest.

ShadoWind then is driving through the camp but he spins out and crashes, Eris believes that it's because he is a fraud but Laval thinks that was their distraction, Cragger then rings the bell and asks Winzar to turn down the torches so they can sleep, but Winzar goes to Worriz and says he can't take it anymore, but just then he smells that Laval and Eris are nearby, they find them while the two are trying to sneak in and say they are there for the Crocs, but the Wolves pretend they don't want to free the Crocs and they even fake being hit which Laval sees as a sign that he doesn't need to use the CHI orb he brought, he then takes the key to the Crocodile cages from Wilhurt and goes to unlock the cages after dealing with the Wolves, Eris runs into Windra who she bops on the snout causing Windra to fall to the ground, she then makes some fighting gestures which the Wolves react to still pretending to be weak, Laval frees Cragger and the Crocs who try telling him that they were fine the whole time and weren't being mistreated, but Laval doesn't let that slide and tells them to go free anyway but not before Crug tries asking Winzar for more of those sandwiches which he snarls at and the Crocodiles trek their way back home.

Razar is sorting through he money when ShadoWind appears, he asks ShadoWind how it's going when he starts speaking again and he takes off his helmet, it turns out that wasn't actually ShadoWind but instead Furtivo, he asks Razar why he would think he would make a good Speedor racer since he is just a Fox, but Razar says that they know he isn't a good racer but he is dressed like one and no one can resist ShadoWind merchandise even if it's preorders, he then gives Furtivo his share of money plus a little more for the Laval thing, Furtivo then exclaims ShadoWind rules before getting back on his Speedor and rides away when unbeknownst to him the real ShadoWind is watching.

Laval returns to the Lion Temple and Lagravis asks him where he is been and tells him the good news that the tribes have agreed to meet for a discussion about freeing the Crocs later in the week but Laval tells him he already did that last night, he says he had the help of Eris and ShadoWind and has Lagravis listen to the sad cries of the Wolves who in actuality are celebrating now that the Crocs are gone and they no longer are forced to serve them. Laval then asks his father if he is upset with him but Lagravis assures him no because he made Chima whole again and attempts to quote what Laval told him earlier "No one is free if Crocs must live in cages" but Laval corrects him and says it was "No one is free in Chima if a single one of us is locked in a cage" but then says Lagravis was close enough and that the most important thing was that his father quoted him for once like he does to him, Lagravis then proudly says that even he can learn a thing or two from Laval every so often as well.

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • This episode's title draws it's name from a term used to describe a fake feeling of sadness.
  • This is the only instance in the series where Furty drives a speedor.
  • This also the second instance in an episode where no one CHI's up (the first being in The Hundred Year Moon).
  • Winzar's puppets also appear in a blooper for Into the Outlands.

Continuity[]

  • This marks the first time Cragger has a dream about finding his parents in the Gorge of Eternal Depth.
  • Laval tells Eris about the last time he saw ShadoWind in the The CHI Jackers, complete with a flashback.

Errors[]

  • Wilhurt's voice is a lot lower during the latter half of the episode.
  • Laval calls Winzar "One Eye", when that is only how he portrayed in the sets, not the show.
  • When we first see the Wolves partying at the end of the episode, Worriz can be seen with Wilhurt, but in the next shot, he is replaced by Winzar.
