Attack of the Ice Clan (episode)

Attack of the Ice Clan is the second episode of the third season of Legends of Chima and the 28th episode overall.

Plot

Plot[]

Eris is flying around Chima while Laval and Cragger go on a joy ride, but she then sees Mount Cavora bursting into flames and she sees her friends' vehicles catch on fire, she screams and wakes up in the Eagle Spire from another of these dreams, she then rushes outside to see if Cavora is alright and to her relief it is but she then sees something. Crominus and Crunket are going on a walk around the Crocodile Fortress, inside Cragger is cleaning his spear when Crooler asks him with their parents back, how does he feel that he isn't king anymore, to her surprise, he is actually pleased that he isn't leading anymore as he felt he had a hard time doing that and is glad to just play again. Outside, Crawley and Crug are about to go swimming in the Crocodile Swamp when a sheet of ice spreads over the swamp, freezing, after seeing what was approaching, they try to flee but this substance is too slippery and thus they both get frozen, Crooler then starts to take notice of the temperature change and that's when she and Cragger see the Ice Hunters and Cragger tries to fight them off but they overpower him and he takes Crooler and they go to warn the other tribes of this but take Crug with them after seeing him frozen to the Helicrocter.

Eris then heads to the Lion Temple to get help from Laval about what she saw but he asks her if she is sure this isn't another dream, she tries to convince them but then Cragger and Crooler fly into the temple to talk to the Lions about the same thing and they see Crug is stuck to the Helicrocter, after a quick meeting, Lagravis says the elders have heard of this substance that is called Ice but it has not been seen in Chima in large quantities for centuries. At the Crocodile Swamp, the Ice Hunters are gathering up the Crocodiles' CHI and pledge to destroy those that buried them in the Gorge of Eternal Depth all those years ago, at the same time the tribes of Chima are heading to the swamp to get a closer look at the Ice but they run into the Ice Hunters and they start attacking the tribes, Eris crashes to the ground after being frozen and Cragger orders to fire at the Ice Hunters but their bullets freeze against the Ice and he and Laval take cover when Cragger asks Laval what they are going to do now. Longtooth in the meantime, is busy defrosting Crug when the latter asks for marshmallows, Longtooth then complains why he had to be stuck doing this when he could be out there fighting, he then sets up a campfire which Crug then tells Longtooth about when he made one with Crawley at HummingMoss Point and says the moss there makes a sound when you step on it, Longtooth then shoves a roasted marshmallow into Crug's month tired of hearing him talk and tells the elders they should've started with his feet and kept his mouth for last and then he asks for another marshmallow.

The tribes and Ice Hunters continue to fight but the enemy is overwhelming, Rogon tries to launch some boulders at the Ice Hunters but Mungus flips his vehicle over, Gorzan and his tribe then try to climb onto the trees to attack but they get frozen, Cragger's tail then is frozen but instead of Vardy fighting him he just sits there watching Cragger struggle. Lagravis then pulls out a CHI orb and begins attacking back after Leonidas and Lennox get frozen and is able to push through, meanwhile, Longtooth is still watching Crug who he is fed up with and says never again. The fight continues in the forest and Lagravis and Laval are back to back after being pushed back, they start to become frozen but Lagravis gives Laval a CHi orb and he powers up allowing them to break free of the Ice and Laval tells everyone to leave the forest as Lagravis orders everyone to retreat. Vardy is still watching Cragger when Laval shows up and asks him what he is doing, Cragger says he is frozen and that birdbrain doesn't want to fight him to which Vardy tells him to be patient as his demise will happen eventually.

Laval then cuts Cragger free and the two try to flee but are slipping on the Ice which Laval exclaims he hates more than water, Worriz then shows up to get the two of them and they start making their escape but not before they decide to have a little fun and mess with the Ice Hunter before retreating, Mungus smacks the ground trying to get them but just sends two of the Vultures into the air and crashing back down and causing Fangar to fall onto the Ice and swallow the CHI he had. Laval then tells Eris and the Eagles to fire more shots at them knowing their will freeze but it gives me their distraction to escape. Fangar tries to attack them again but he gets stuck which Maula blames Mottort for claiming he didn't say anything but Mottrot said he did but his mother just scolds him and asks why he can't be more like his younger brother instead of a failure.

At the Lion Temple, Crug is sleeping on the throne after all the Ice has finally melted and Longtooth is sweeping the floor hoping to never do this again, but Lagravis and the others return and he tells Longtooth to start up more fires so they can melt their allies to which Longtooth is freaked out and done with it as he runs away hoping to avoid more defrostings.

  • Aside from the Bears, the Ravens are the only main tribe to not join the battle at the Croc Swamp.
  • The following warriors in LaGravis' army are show frozen: Leonidas, Lennox, 2 Gorillas, 2 Rhinos, 2 Wolfs, an Eagle, and a Leonidas duplicate.
  • This is the first episode to play "Day of Glory" as the theme song.
  • It is revealed that the Gorilla Mech's cannon can in fact shoot pulse beams.
  • The sound of the Rock Flinger crashing on impact after being flipped over by Mungus was re-used from the crash sound of the fourth season of the show, Thomas & Friends.

  • Windra can be seen wearing her cape when the warriors charge at the Ice Hunters.
  • In the exterior shot of the Lion Temple at the end of the episode, it's daytime, but when LaGravis brings the wagon with the frozen warriors, it becomes night.
  • Part of the frozen Lion's headgear is show missing at the ending.
