Fire Dreaming

Fire Dreaming is the first episode of the third season of Legends of Chima and the 27th episode overall.

Plot

Plot[]

Eris is flying through Chima once again when her wings catch fire, she starts freaking out but it turns out to be just a dream, but she is still shaken as she falls out of the Eagle Spire. Laval and Cragger are at the Forever Rock playing a ball game with the CHI they have when Eris flies in still terrified, they then ask her if she is okay and she tries to explain her dream but they point out they have new vehicles from their fathers and CHI up to continue playing, she tries to get them to listen but G'Loona and Wonald show up, begging for the two boys to tell them about their latest adventure and Laval speaks; It all started when a Black Cloud arrived and took the falls of Mount Cavora away from them, a group of Bats, Spiders and Scorpions then came to steal their CHI, after hearing the Legend Beasts were captured, they set out to rescue them where they encounter these tribes, they rescue the Legend Beasts but are almost trapped when Lavertus aka ShadoWind and Laval's uncle saved them and sealed off the cave with his Golden CHI, they then returned the Legend Beasts home and they restored the falls of Mount Cavora and life began anew, the kids then asks them whatever happened to the tribes they fought but Cragger doesn't know and Laval says they are probably still in the cave.

At the Scorpion Caves, the Scorpions are at the edge of the chasm where down below Fangar, a Saber-Tooth Tiger awakes from the CHI that Scorm threw down there and he breaks out of the ice, he crawls to the CHI orb and picks it up not knowing what it is and falls down and drops it accidentally using CHI for the first time. Laval and Cragger are making their way home while still telling G'Loona and Wonald about their adventure which frustrates Eris and says it wasn't all fun and games and Laval and Cragger admit there were some hiccups but it made it even more fun, Eris is still angry however but Laval pinpoints it as her being mad that he and Cragger weren't listening to her earlier which she admits to, Cragger then mocks her about the flaming wings which angers her more and she storms off with Laval and Cragger going after her trying to apologize. Scutter comes in to show Scorm the CHI they gathered but he tells him to get rid of it as it has brought them nothing but trouble, Fangar down in the chasm is then trying to find a way to break the other tribes down there out of the ice when the CHI is dropped down to him, he grabs all of it and throws it to the other of his Hunters and frees more Saber-Tooth Tigers, Mammoths and Vultures and declares they must now continue their mission they started so many years ago which is to rule all of Chima.

The Market is setup in Lion City and all the tribes are there, Plovar tries to get people to attend his spa but Skinnet farts and stinks it up making the customers run away, Razar is doing a thing about creating one's own Legend Beast, but then, while Eris to trying to sell an Alarm Clock to Bladvic, she catches on fire again and starts running through the market freaking out and trying to find water while everyone looks at, she then jumps into the spa pool with Skinnet and asks if anyone else saw the fire but Plovar says no and Eris deduces that she can experience this while sleeping and being awake then everyone starts laughing at her. Afterwards, the first Speedor race in many many months takes place in the Grand Arena once more and Laval and Cragger use CHI orbs to speed through the course, they make a few turns and jumps but when they both hook onto the same rock to help their turning, they both go flying off the track into a bush, this allows Gorzan to take the lead and he wins the first Speedor race in while, not just in general but also for the Gorillas and is awarded with the Golden CHI orb with Lagravis telling him to use it well and use it wisely, Worriz doesn't appear too happy but Laval tells him to cheer up and be happy that the Gorillas won for once at these races to which he says he is happy while still growling.

Meanwhile, the Ice Tribes begin their march out of the caves while Maula tries to wake up her youngest son Mungus and tells her older son Mottrot to give them his CHI orb, but he refuses and she just takes it by force waking up Mungus and calling Mottrot lazy. Fangar and his army then start to crawl up the wall when a ball of Ice appears at the top in the caves Scolder tries to lick it but gets himself stuck, then Scutter and Scrug try to free him but they get frozen too, Scorm they tries to attack the tribes but the CHI he fires are frozen along with him and the tribes begin heading out. In the Market, Laval offers Eris to join them at the Forever Rock for some marshmallows, Eris then gets mad saying that it's always Laval and Cragger now when it used to be her and Laval, she feels left out and Laval comforts her by saying he is just enjoying that things are back to normal in Chima and just wants to spend more time with Cragger again after how much they fought, Eris understands but is still upset about, Laval then offers her again to join them around the campfire at the Forever Rock and promises it will be fire wood there not burning wings and she accepts. The Crawlers try to fight back against the Ice Hunters but are frozen and then Stealthor informs Fangar that all the exits have been blocked but Fangar then says they can just climb their way out, Sykor is sniffing the ground when he finds Gorzan's sock that fell down into the Gorge of Eternal Depth a long time ago and eats it, they then find an activation switch in the ground and Fangar uses it to summon the Ice Fortress and their old vehicles and start climbing out of the Gorge of Eternal Depth.

The tribes are hanging out at the Forever Rock and they argue over how Mount Cavora the the rest of Chima was created, they each have their own take on the Great Story and argue back and forth but Laval breaks it up and telling them to show respect and that while they all have their own version of the Great Story one thing is true in all of them, Mount Cavora rose and Chima was born. Eris then says that she feels there is more to Chima's history than they know about and wonders if there was a Story before the Great Story, Cragger then calls her hot wings again but she actually laughs this time. Skinnet then heads to the Fangs where he bears witness to the Ice Hunters rising out of the Gorge of Eternal Depth and start freezing everything around him.

Trivia[]

  • This episode reveals that all of the tribes of Chima have their own version of the Great Story, which is also similar to the spiders and the scorpions beliefs in a godlike version of the creature they are based on.
  • It is also revealed that the Gorillas have not won a Speedor race for a long time.
  • A wooden version of the Eagle's Castle set can be seen in the background of the Terrible Trail of Torture.
  • This is the only season premiere to have a title card.

Continuity[]

  • The Terrible Trail of Torture makes it's first appearance since Market Day.
  • Treehugger III returns, having last appeared in For Chima!
  • Gorzan's sock that fell down into the Gorge of Eternal Depth in "Balancing Act" reappears when Sykor is sniffing the ground and he picks up the sock and eats it.

Errors[]

  • When Laval deflects the Chi ball at one point, it does not bounce off his chest.
  • ShadoWind's helmet is frozen alongside the Crawlers, however in the Lavertus' flashback from "A Spark of Hope," he had his helmet with him when he sheltered himself from the Hunters' freeze.
