The Call of Cavora

The Call of Cavora is the third episode of the third season of Legends of Chima and the 29th episode overall.

Plot

Plot[]

Fangar is at the Ice Fortress in The Fangs and tells his companions; Vardy and Maula, that soon, their Ice will reach all of Chima and the warmth inside their enemies will also freeze up, they then watch their troops marching outwards to the rest of Chima. Meanwhile, Rogon is giving a speech at the Rhino Quarry that they must fight back and not give up, but he is just talking to rocks which Cragger points out, but Laval tells him to let Rogon do his thing as rocks did help them the last time they fought those Ice Hunters. The Ice Hunters are marching through Chima when Mottrot tries to warn everyone that something is on top of the cliff but his mother Maula tells him to be quiet as his little brother Mungus is sleeping, he then gets a rock tossed onto him and his mother complains to him saying to get up and stop being lazy and to protect his little brother, but he gets hit as Mottrot can't get his rock off of him. The tribes of Chima then start launching more rocks are the Hunters and they also send out air support, they are successful but Fangar orders Vardy and his troops to go up there and deal with the tribes and the Eagles, they are able to take out Eris, Eglor, Ewar and Ewald, freeze Gorzan completely and freeze half of Rogon, Laval and Cragger orders their troops to fall back and retreat. However, when Eris crashes down, she sees a flaming temple on top of a hill, she is rather pleased as this may be connected to her dreams, however, Fangar also spots her and is making his way over so he can attack.

Eris is about to walk up the steps to this temple when Laval and Cragger show up to get her, but Fangar shows up and he tries to shoot his Ice Blaster at Eris but his bullets melt as soon as they hit the firewall which greatly confuses him, Laval then grabs Eris and she notices Gorzan is also there and has melted from his Ice, he then runs to Fangar who is still trying to shoot at them and Gorzan sends Fangar flying back. Eris then returns to the Eagle Spire and talks about the temple she saw to Ewald, he tells her the temple is a Phoenix Temple which excites Eris as that is somehow connected to her dreams, Ewald then brings her to the Completely Ridiculous section of the Library where they kept books about the Phoenixes there which Eris is exacted to learn from. In the Map Room of the Lion Temple, Lagravis and the four tribes there are mapping out the current location of the Ice Hunters and determine their next move, they start to brainstorm on where they can lead these Hunters and Cragger makes reference to falling trees, Laval connects the dots and deduces he is talking about the Falling Jungle, and so, after brainstorming, the tribes head out for the Falling Jungle.

The tribes then meet up outside of the Falling Jungle and are ready to carry out their plan when Eris runs over with a book about the Phoenixes and says it has to be connected to the visions she had and the temple they saw the previous day which seems to be connected to Mount Cavora, but Laval says he was there too but didn't see any temple there, Ewald then calms Eris down by telling her they can discuss this later as they only can do one world saving plan at a time and tells her to get in her jet. The Ice Hunters then show up and the tribes begin to execute their plan, on their Speedorz, they start racing through the Falling Jungle, tripping up each and every vehicle that makes it that far, however, the Hunters are still able to catch up and with the help of the Vultures, they freeze a rock and were counting on the four Speedor riders going up it, they are about to freeze them when Eris and the Eagles show up right in front of them and shoot at them allowing the four riders to get away, they try to lose the Vultures in a cloud but the Vultures freeze it Eglor to eject from his jet and Eris flies over the cloud when she sees Mount Cavora, desperate to know if the thing about the Phoenixes are true, she leads Vornon and VoomVoom to Cavora where she plans to have them freeze the falls of Mount Cavora so she can climb into it, she is successful but Vornon and VoomVoom fly away as they are Vultures.

Laval and Cragger then return to Lion City when they see Vornon and VoomVoom flying away and then see Eris who has frozen the falls of Mount Cavora, they head up to ask her what she is doing and she says she is craving out a climbing path for the two of them so they can get inside of Mount Cavora, Laval and Cragger say she is crazy which she gets defensive over again and Laval does tell Cragger that they haven't been the nicest to her lately, but Cragger bites back saying he is never going to climb up those falls, not for Eris, not for anyone. However, he climbs up anyway and asks why they are doing this, Laval says they are doing this for Eris and if this leads them to a way to defeat the Ice Hunters, then they are going to go through with this. Laval, Cragger and Eris then make it to the top of the falls and make it inside of Mount Cavora, Cragger is worried as he heard the legend that if anyone steps inside Mount Cavora, they will burst into flames, Laval and Eris assure him it's just a rumor and isn't real, but when Eris steps out of the Ice, she starts screaming and falls onto the floor like she is on fire, but she starts laughing as she was just messing with the two of them, they then make it to the heart of Mount Cavora where they meet the Legend Beasts again including the Lion, Crocodile and Eagle, they go to greet them but they are told to stay back, then each of the Legend Beasts let out a strange fire trail which picks up Laval, Cragger and Eris and lifts them up through a hole where Eris recognizes that they are at the Phoenix Temple and a mysterious voice is heard and tells the trio that they have been waiting for them and Mount Cavora now has a flame billowing at the very top outside.

  • Lennox makes a cameo, in which he rolls some rocks over the hunters just before the heroes retreat.
  • The phoenix emblem on the Fire Temple in Eris' vision is the same symbol that appears on Nya in Ninjago.
  • The quote by Strainor, "The rocks are falling!",could be a reference to the fairy tale Chicken Little, in which the eponymous character says, "The sky is falling!"

  • This marks the first appearance of a Rhino Speedor since the Season 1 finale.
  • This marks the Falling Jungle's first appearance since The Joy Ride.
    • This episode also marks the first appearance of the Map Room in the Lion Temple which also appeared that episode.
  • Eris references that the Spider and Bat Tribes managed to pass through the energy shield that keeps Mount Cavora afloat.
