Overview
Primeval's Eye is an uncharted jungle in Ninjago. Misako's friend, Dr. Yost went missing trying to map out the area. The location of the Oni Mask of Hatred is in the Oni Temple, deep in the Primeval's Eye. A path in the Primeval's Eye called Strangler's Path is the path to the temple. It was home to a giant crustacean named Crabby before it was tamed by the ninja. According to Lloyd, it is described as a vast wilderness of death.

Prior to Sons of Garmadon[]
At some point in time, Dr. Yost ventured into Primeval's Eye, but he went missing and didn't return.[2]
Under the influence of Black River, Crabby turned into a giant crab monster.[1]

Dead Man's Squall[]
The ninja crashed into Primeval's Eye while Lloyd and Harumi used the Samurai X Mech to brace their landing at a completely different part of the jungle.
The Quiet One[]
Lloyd and Harumi headed for the Oni Temple by riding a boat they found on the Black River. During their journey, they encountered "Crabby" who harassed the two until they reached strong currents. Unable to control the boat, Lloyd and Harumi fall down a waterfall, but soon discovered the Oni Temple in their sights.
Meanwhile, the ninja attempted to repair the Destiny's Bounty; however, they were ambushed by the Sons of Garmadon and were captured.
Game of Masks[]
After Harumi obtained the Oni Mask of Hatred, she met with the rest of the S.O.G. but the ninja were able to free themselves and they surround her gang. The two sides then stared each other down as Kai demanded where Lloyd was. Suddenly, they spot Lloyd being launched from the temple.
Without warning, "Crabby" returned and caused havoc on the ninja and the S.O.G. While the ninja were busy trying to defeat the creature, the S.O.G. made a quick getaway. Using Spinjitzu, Lloyd is able to reach the Bounty, but Killow grabs him. Meanwhile, "Crabby" broke himself free and stares at the ninja.
A Sinister Shadow (flashback)[]
Following her resurrection by the Crystal King, Harumi was instructed to take one of his crystals back to the Oni Temple and to plant it into the shrine that once held the Mask of Hatred. She then complied with this order and the Crystal King revealed his identity as that of the Overlord to her.

The Coming of the King[]
In a demonstration of his power, the Crystal King transformed the Crystal Temple into the Crystal Island and ripped it from the ground into the skies above Primeval's Eye. As the island began floating away from the jungle below, Lloyd managed to escape from it by literally leaping off the edge with Harumi as his prisoner. Both landed in one of the rivers of the jungle below and swam to the shores.
Return to Primeval's Eye[]
With Harumi as his prisoner, Lloyd traversed the harsh jungle, searching for a way out. As he cut his way through the dense foliage, Harumi would attempt on multiple occasions to get Lloyd to lower his guard, eventually succeeding in losing him regardless. However, Lloyd was able to recapture her after both fell into a pit of quicksand and Lloyd's assistance was required for both of them to escape. Meanwhile, in the skies above, the Council of the Crystal King rode atop Dragonides in search of the pair, discovering them only after Harumi shouted for backup.
The Council then pursued Lloyd to the edge of a cliff, where the Wu and Nya onboard Destiny's Bounty met with them, driving away the Council with some help from Zane. With Lloyd secure, the ninja retreated from Primeval's Eye.
