Overview

History
History[]
Background[]
The Geckles and Munce originally lived in fear due to Grief-Bringer. The Geckles and Munce came to Lilly and asked for help to defeat the dragon. By using the Blades of Deliverance, Lilly defeated Grief-Bringer and gave both the tribes her blades. She also gave Gleck her necklace.
Amidst this turmoil, Geo was born from a both a Geckle and a Munce. However, due to being a hybrid and making look him unique, Geo was unwanted and abandoned by both tribes. This led him to leave Shintaro Mountain and eventually find himself in the Land of Lost Things, as his tribe had forgotten about him.
However, Vangelis stole the Two Blades and captured the Geckles and Munce, forcing them to mine Vengestone as the two tribes turned against each other.
Master of the Mountain[]
As years passed, Gleck heard about the ninja coming to Shintaro. Since the ninja are Elemental Masters, Gleck believed that one of them could've been Lilly, but was wrong. Because of the Geckle's mistake, Cole and Vania snuck into the Dungeons of Shintaro and discovered the most of the Geckles and Munce mining Vengestone for the Skull Sorcerer. The ninja tried to free the two tribes from the Skull Sorcerer, but ended up captured as well when the cave tribes argured. When the ninja attempt another escape from the Skull Keep, the enslaved Geckles were freed while the ones that weren't accused Kai and Zane to be Dark Skeletons, taking them to Gulch to see what he says about the two ninja. When they did, Gulch decided to put Kai and Zane in a Trial-By-Mino to see if they're skeletons or not.
After both ninja survived the trial thanks to their usage of Elemental Powers, Gulch declared that they were not skeletons, and to make up for the dishonor they had brought upon themselves with such suspicions, the chancellor elected for Kai to become the new Geckle Chancellor. In spite of the red ninja's protests, the others unanimously agreed to such a proposition, thrusting Kai into his new position of power. For his first act as chancellor, Kai requested to be told all the Geckles knew of the Skull Sorcerer, to which they obliged.
Sometime later, Kai propositioned a meeting with the new Munce Queen in order to establish a truce between Geckles and Munce against their common foe in the Skull Sorcerer. This suggestion was met with mixed reactions, initiating a Slug race to determine whether or not meeting with the Munce was a good idea. Although the slug for 'no' nearly won the race, Zane used his powers to propel the slug for 'yes' past the finish line. This action affirmed to the Geckles that meeting with the Munce would be a good idea and they agreed to Kai's proposition.
After arriving at the rendezvous point, both parties almost immediately came to blows but were halted by their respective leaders. Not long after, however, the Skull Sorcerer would ambush the parlay with his army of Re-Awakened and the now reanimated bones of Grief-Bringer. Terrified by the dragon's ghastly return, the Geckles and Munce scattered off deeper into the caves, swinging across a lava chasm to escape from the Skull Sorcerer's forces.
With the Skull Sorcerer and his forces hot on their tails, the Geckles and Munce escaped to the Geckle Strong-Cave, believing that it was capable of even withstanding the undead Grief-Bringer. Once both sides were secure, they immediately began bickering once more about which side stole the other's Blade of Deliverance until Grief-Bringer began its attack upon the cave walls and proved it was very much not as secure as initially believed. With some urging by the ninja, the Geckles and Munce agreed to put aside their differences and to work together to escape from the cave. Unfortunately, it was soon discovered that there simply was no other way out of the cave. Defeated by this realization, Gulch sank to the floor and expressed his regret for leading his people and the Munce to the cave in the first place. After Murtessa comforted and sympathized with the former chancellor, Gulch agreed with his counter-part that perhaps the Geckles and Munce were not so different after all. With peace finally made for real, both sides agreed to stand together against the Skull Sorcerer.
When the walls around them collapsed and the Re-Awakened took up their positions outside the cave entrance, the ninja surrendered themselves to the Skull Sorcerer in exchange for freedom for the Geckles and Munce. While the Skull Sorcerer noted their nobility, he went back on his word and enslaved both Geckles and Munce anyway.
Fortunately the throes of slavery would not last too long thanks to the return of Cole and his crew in the form of the Upply. With Cole's help, the Geckles and Munce revolted against the Skull Sorcerer and his forces, holding back the hordes of Re-Awakened as Cole took the fight to the Sorcerer himself. Following his defeat, many Geckles, including Gulch, attended Vania's coronation as the new Queen of Shintaro and bid the ninja farewell.
Generosity[]
While the ninja were fighting the Re-Awakened, the Geckles were firing boulders at the warriors using a catapult. However, Gulch broke the final lever and couldn't use the catapult. Zane realized they were in trouble, so he gave up his arm and attached it to the catapult. The Geckles took out most of the warriors, but they were surrounded themselves. Luckily, the ninja helped out by defeating the remaining warriors and Gulch returned the favor by launching the ninja to the next portal.
Crystalized[]
In the battle prophesied from Quanish the Elder, the Geckles, the Munce, the Army of Shintaro and the Upply to fight the Overlord and his crystal army. As Lloyd, using the Golden Ultra Dragon, defeated the Overlord, the Geckles joined the ninja and their allies in rebuilding the Monastery of Spinjitzu.
Dragons Rising, Season 1[]
Following the Merge, a portion of the Geckle population became citizens in the Crossroads. Some Geckles would also serve Moss-milk Ice Cones.
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
A Geckle named Grouce is entombed in a sarcophagus at the Magical storagehouse in the Wyldness. When Gandalaria accidentally opened it with her Instant Opener spell potion, he chastised her for disturbing him before closing the sarcophagus.
At some point after the Ritual of the Blood Moon, a certain amount of Geckles went to the City of Temples to watch the Tournament of the Sources[3], while Geo and Gorge went to participate in it.

Culture[]
The Geckles are a tribe of elf-like imps from the Dungeons of Shintaro, making their home in the Geckle Strong-Cave.
Like the Munce, the Geckles were hunted by the dragon, Grief Bringer, who was killed by Gilly, who the Geckles consider the savior of the cave. She gifted the Geckles the Ivory Blade of Deliverance, which was also stolen by the Skull Sorcerer. This caused the Geckles to blame the Munce for the blade being stolen, as the Munce did to the Geckles. The Skull Sorcerer enslaved the Geckles in the Mines of Shintaro along with the Munce to mine Vengestone for an unknown buyer. Having a conflict with the Munce, the Geckles did not enjoy working alongside the Munce, so the tribes avoided each other, even after being freed from slavery. They only allied with the Munce while hiding from Grief-Bringer in a cave.
The Geckles who remained in the Strong-Cave continued to keep Geckle society running, with the chancellor running the Geckle courthouse. The Geckles practice many parliamentary practices such as throwing stones at the people who they agree with.
Along with the parliamentary traditions, the Geckles actively pass laws. The only known Geckle law is Proposition 8.8.1-stroke-7a, forbidding the riding of giant snails on Tuesdays. While this is the only known law, it is disrespectful to make a mockery of Geckle civil court and it is forbidden to be a skeleton.
Like the Munce with the letter M, the Geckles put the letter G in front of names, as all members of the tribe are given a G name and they put G in front of Gilly. The Geckles have a story cave with their written history, which has no logical narrative. They enjoy eating moss-milk, a fungus that is harvested by the Geckles that tastes putrid and rotten.
They also have a yearly tradition called the Lever Bonfire Festival, when they symbolically burn all of their spare levers to stop evil from having leverage over their hearts.
Trial-By-Mino[]
Trial-By-Mino
- Main article: Trial-By-Mino
Geckles prove who is innocent or guilty based on a Trial-By-Mino, a trial located in the courthouse's Mino Pit, with the belief that if the Mino crushes the participant slowly or becomes friendly with them, they are found innocent, but if the Mino crushes the participant quickly, they are found guilty.
Slug Race[]
Slug race
- Main article: Slug race
Geckles also make decisions with a slug race, where they use a gray and brown slug to represent two opposing ideas: the gray slug represents a good idea and the brown slug represents a bad idea, and if that slug wins the race, that idea has made the decision, as the Geckles believe only the slugs know.
