The Greenbone Warriors[2] are a group of skeletons from the Underworld that serve the Bone King.
History
History[]
Background[]
Along with the Skulkin, the Greenbone Warriors used to reside in the Underworld prior to the Merge, where they were under the rulership of the Bone King. Sometime after the Bone King became the ruler of the Underworld, he was forcibly dethroned and imprisoned by Samukai[3] in a mystical prison beneath the Sea of Sand. Five Bone Weapons were needed to free him. One day, while training on the Sea of Sand, the ninja encountered the Bone King and his army. The Greenbone Warriors set out to acquire five bone weapons for the year of the Bone King.[4] After many battles with the Ninja under the ocean,[5] in the forest[6] or on a volcano, the Greenbone Warriors captured the weapons, freed the Bone King, and attacked Ninjago City. The ninja, taking away the Bone King's weapons, banished him back to the prison under the Sea of Sand along with the Greenbone Warriors.[7]
Dragons Rising, Season 1[]
Following the Merge, a group of Greenbone Warriors relocated in a forest,[8] while another substantial group chose to establish themselves at the Crossroads.[9] During their quest for one of the Dragon Cores, Wyldfyre stole all the gems belonging to the Greenbone Warriors that resided in the forest. As a consequence of their actions, the Greenbone Warriors condemned Kai and Wyldfyre to capital punishment by means of being crushed by the Walls of Punishment until they get their gems back. Following their successful escape from the Walls of Punishment, Wyldfyre reluctantly returned the gems to the Greenbone Warriors. Upon regaining possession of the gems, the Bone King granted Kai and Wyldfyre permission to depart on the condition that they never return. However, before the two parties could part ways amicably, Wyldfyre played a practical joke on the Bone King, burning his hand under the pretense of a handshake. Subsequently, Kai and Wyldfyre made their escape on Heatwave.[8]
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
One Greenbone Warrior, Algu, participated in the Tournament of the Sources as the Elemental Master of Figment. He was victorious in his first round match against Teelk, Master of Sound, but was soon eliminated in his second match against Zeatrix, Master of Shockwave. After his elimination, Algu continued to spectate the remainder of the games and joined his fellow Elemental Masters in fighting against the Wolf Clan after they were corrupted by Rox.
Dragons Rising, Season 3[]
After Ras used the Forge of the Forgotten, some Greenbone Warriors and Skulkin arrived at the forge in Greenbone Leader's lead. Greenbone Leader said a mortal using the Forge of the Forgotten is a grave insult and anybody alive is not allowed to touch it. After Ras said he already done so, Greenbone Leader said the only solution is killing the one who used the forge and pulled his sword with the other warriors. Knowing he needs to fight, Ras accepted the challenge and approached at them.
After the battle, Ras took Greenbone Leader's helmet, but it is unknown what happened to him and the other warriors.
Other appearances
Other appearances[]
Volcano[]
Cole and Lloyd observed four bone warriors patrolling a volcano and decided to check it out. Kai joined them and stole a Bone Weapon from one of the warriors. Employing the Light Mech and Cole's Earth Dragon, the ninja emerged victorious as they pursued the bone warriors, hurling all but one into the volcano.
Puppet Power[]
Kai, Jay, and two other ninja were flying on their dragons when they chanced upon a Bone Warrior causing havoc at a noodle shop. They descended, poised for combat, but the Pink Ninja declared that he would handle the situation. The Pink Ninja brought up a puppet, causing the Bone Warrior to flee in terror, citing his Puppetphobia.
The Great Battle[]
A swarm of Bone Scorpios launched an attack on Ninjago City, prompting Kai, Nya, Cole, and Jay to engage in a rooftop battle against them. While mounted on his Earth Dragon, Cole expressed concern about the overwhelming number of enemies. However, Kai reassured him that they were capable of defeating them, even as Jay fled the scene, mentioning that he hates scorpions. Despite Kai's confidence, Nya remained skeptical. Cole and Kai then agreed that they should've helped Jay, who was being overrun by the Bone Scorpios. Kai questioned who will help them, to which Nya responded that they needed more ninja.
