Curiosity is the first The Virtues of Spinjitzu short. It aired on January 11, 2022 on the LEGO YouTube channel.

Nya is the focus ninja of this short, although there are no previous locations revisited in this short.

Synopsis

Synopsis[]

Master Wu has been kidnapped and taken through a portal. The ninja must now use all their skills to rescue him! Can they bring their mentor back or is he gone forever?

Plot

To determine who would get the last cookie, Jay and Kai challenge each other to see who can chop the most bricks. Kai is able to win with one hundred and one.

However, the challenge alerts Wu who scolds Kai and Jay for removing bricks from the monastery walls instead of meditating on the six Fundamental Virtues of Spinjitzu. Kai claims he would never forget the virtues, but when asked to recall, he's unable to come up with an answer. Wu asks the rest of the ninja what the six virtues are including Nya and Zane, but nobody could remember.

Failing to name the virtues, Wu orders the ninja to meditate. After a while, Wu appointed them all the six Virtues of Spinjitzu while circling them from outside the circle. He said the first virtue to Nya, Curiosity. Then he dropped the brick on which Cole was sitting and told him the second virtue, Balance. Then he turned the meditating Lloyd on the other side to face the circle and said the third virtue, Wisdom. As Jay tried to eat the cookie, Wu knocked it out with his bo staff and said the fourth virtue, Honesty. When Zane caught a cookie, he said to the fifth virtue, Generosity, and when Zane handed the cookie to Kai and he was about to eat what Wu had prevented him from, he said the last virtue, Courage. He then explained to them that the Virtues of Spinjitzu are the qualities of which a true ninja is forged.

Someone then knocks on the monastery gate and Wu goes to answer it, but does not return. Nya, finally curious, goes to the gate to open it herself. The ninja watch as she opens it and find themselves staring at a large green dragon holding a screaming Wu in his paws. A fight commences as the ninja try to save Wu, but the dragon escapes through a portal in the center of the monastery, disappearing with Wu. The ninja then follow after the dragon just before the portal closes.

  • This short marks the first appearance of the Legendary Dragon.
  • The cookies in this episode may be a reference to Seabound, where the phrase "That's how the cookie crumbles" was a key phrase towards the season.
  • The portal created by the dragon has golden energy edges that indicate that it is actually created by Wu's power of Creation.

Errors[]

  • Zane lacks his titanium-body filter throughout the whole short.
    • The compilation video of the shorts has Zane's titanium voice filter, but it doesn't feature Zane's filter in Balance, which is present in the separate upload.
