Ras, Arin and Sora face one last trial before entering the Underworld, only to uncover a terrible truth at the Forge of the Forgotten that forces Arin to make a difficult choice. In the Realm of Lee, Jay and Nya discover that Lloyd and Wyldfyre are missing and must work together to find the Ninja and expose Lee's secret. Meanwhile, Lloyd learns a vital clue from the Council of the Source Dragons.[3]

The Administration Agents hollow around the office. Underwood asks Allen if there are any signs of the Spectral Dragonians. Allen denies this, as he explains that they are hard to see. Underwood says that invisibility requires lots of permits, But Allen fears that if they return, then he will bludgeon them with fines. Suddenly, the Munce agent is panicking, hoping that they would not come back because of what they did to Carl B, Debra, and the rest of the HQ, but Underwood tells him to be quiet, but then the Munce agent shows her how many souls the Spectral Dragonians they have taken from them. The Munce agent, Allen, and Underwood hear the magic flute, and they bring out their weapons to blast them, only for Underwood, a female agent, and a Merlopian being stripped of their souls.

Drix then returns to the Spectral Lands with the Spectral Dragonians, to show that they are now ghosts. He brings the stolen souls back to the Spectral Lands, where Thunderfang and the other Forbidden Five are revealed to have become ghosts. Drix pours the stolen souls into the Well of the Lost, where they mix with the healing elixir and cause tablets bearing the symbols of the Source Dragons to glow. Delighted by the success of their plan, Thunderfang vows revenge against the Source Dragons for rejecting him.

Back in Mysterium, Sora notices that the sun is already setting, assuming that the days are getting shorter, but Arin suggested it was a magical Mysterium thing. He then asks Ras why they are stopping. Ras explains that the dwellers of the Underworld do not appreciate the presence of the living. Arin assumed that the Spectral Lands were where people passed through to what's after its life. He then asks what the Underworld is. Ras says that it is similar, but only disgraced warriors ended up there. He suggests that the only thing that they needed to do was to activate the Forge of the Forgotten. Arin asks if it can bring his parents back. Ras explains that it will create a dragon icon, but Arin already knew that they were going to reverse the Merge. They all get on their bikes, and Ras tells Sora to enjoy. But Sora instead starts using her elemental powers to fix his bike. He then leaves Arin and Sora. Arin tells Sora to not make him mad, but then Sora reminds him that he needs them. They then go and follow Ras. The group arrive at a Skeleton Village, where Ras believes the entrance to the Underworld is hidden. After watching a Skulkin enter a trapdoor, Ras opens it, only to discover that the passage has mysteriously disappeared. As Arin and Sora wonder how to get inside, they are confronted by a hostile Monster Skull. Although Arin initially suggests the creature might be friendly, it immediately attacks them, forcing the three to defend themselves.

In the Community of Lee, Jay and Nya return home after a painting class, with Jay surprised to discover he has a talent for painting. Nya reminds him that he possesses many skills because he was once a ninja, though Jay dismisses the idea. Upon arriving home, they find Lloyd and Wyldfyre missing. Assuming they are still searching for information about Arin's parents, Jay notes that the Land of Lee is full of distractions, while Nya jokes that Wyldfyre may have gotten sidetracked by an ice cream hotel. Leaving their paintings behind, the two set out to look for their friends, unaware that two Lees quietly follow them.

Lloyd and Wyldfyre are imprisoned in a cage by Lee. He insists that the cage is meant to guide them toward friendship and denies brainwashing anyone in the Land of Lee, claiming that everyone chose to live there willingly. He admits, however, that those who question his version of the Merge must be "corrected." Lloyd accuses Lee of manipulating the townspeople, but Lee dismisses the accusation. As they watch, the Dream-Guyver finishes brainwashing Elway, who is released from his cell and immediately praises Lee as a loyal, kind, and trustworthy friend. Satisfied that the process has succeeded, Lee informs Lloyd and Wyldfyre that they will be the next to undergo the same "friendship" treatment once the Dream-Guyver has rested. After Lee and Elway leave, Lloyd attempts to destroy the cage with his elemental Life, while Wyldfyre tries using her Heat, but neither attack has any effect. As Lloyd wonders what kind of cage could withstand their powers, he is suddenly drawn into a vision of the Source Dragons' void. There, the Source Dragons debate whether they should continue involving themselves in mortal affairs. While the Strength and Focus Source Dragons argue that helping mortals has only endangered the Source Dragons, the Source Dragon of Motion warns that Thunderfang has returned and seeks to destroy the council. Motion proposes awakening the Arc Dragon of Focus but Focus refuses to approve the plan despite the growing threat. That was until Motion revealed that mortals can summon the Arc Dragon of Focus, which left Strentgh in disbelief. Before the discussion can continue, Strength senses Lloyd's presence, causing the vision to end. Awakening back inside the cage, Lloyd realizes that Thunderfang has returned and warns a shocked Wyldfyre of the danger.

The Monster Skull attacks Ras, Arin, and Sora, forcing the trio to dodge its assault. Arin remarks that the creature clearly does not want them there before he pulls up his hood and Sora puts on her mask. Ras charges at the Monster Skull with his hammer, but the creature swats him away with a powerful blow, leaving the group to continue struggling against the monstrous guardian.

In the Land of Lost Things, Kai and Cole continue training Frak, encouraging him to combine physical strength with mental focus. He successfully smashes a bundle of bamboo, impressing his mentors with his progress. Their training is interrupted when Geo and Bonzle arrive with refreshments, while Fritz and Spitz return with a cart full of items they scavenged from the geysers. As Fritz rummages through the cart, several Prismatic Blades spill out, surprising Kai. Realizing the weapons disappeared during the battle with Thunderfang, Kai wonders how they ended up in the Land of Lost Things. The discovery leads him to conclude that everything lost throughout the realms eventually finds its way there. After Geo repairs the bamboo targets, Cole has Frak practice using his Elemental Power of Quake to destroy them from below. When Frak channels his power, he senses a strange "screaming" coming from the earth. Cole reveals that he has felt the phenomenon as well and recalls a mission given to him by Master Wu's spirit shortly after the battle with Thunderfang. In the flashback, Wu guided Cole to a remote desert, where he discovered something enormous buried deep beneath the ground. Although he was unable to uncover it, Cole believes it is the source of the Earth's cries. Intrigued, Frak suggests investigating the mystery, and Geo offers a solution by unveiling a three-seater Ninja Combat Vehicle he assembled from parts found in the Land of Lost Things. Impressed by the vehicle, Kai, Cole, and Frak agree to set out on the journey to uncover the source of the disturbance.

During the battle, Arin is knocked to the ground by the Monster Skull, which prepares to crush him. Sora rushes to his aid and instinctively performs a rudimentary form of Spinjitzu, knocking the creature aside and saving Arin. Amazed, Arin points out that Sora has successfully used Spinjitzu for the first time. When the Monster Skull attacks again, Ras charges forward and shatters its body with his hammer. Rather than being defeated, the guardian congratulates the trio, explaining that they have earned passage by demonstrating the strength honored by the warriors of the Underworld. The Monster Skull then opens its ribcage, revealing a hidden staircase leading into the Underworld. After Sora jokingly comments on the ominous entrance, Ras eagerly descends the passage, with Arin and Sora following close behind.

Meanwhile, Jay and Nya realize they are being followed by several Lees and manage to evade them before reaching a restricted backstage entrance. Although Jay initially fails to open the secured door, he instinctively channels his Elemental Power of Lightning to unlock it, prompting Nya to remark that he still possesses the abilities of a ninja despite his lost memories. As they make their way through the backstage corridors, Jay secretly inserts a control implant into an inactive Dragon Mech, intending to use it later. Continuing their search, the pair discovers a workshop where the Lees are carving gravestones. To their horror, the gravestones bear the names of Lloyd, Wyldfyre, Jay, and Nya under their Land of Lee aliases, revealing that Lee intends to eliminate them.

In the Underworld, Ras, Arin, and Sora encounter Kruncha and Nuckal, who are entertaining themselves with a bone-rolling game. Demanding directions to the Forge of the Forgotten, Ras is met with a challenge from Kruncha, who insists he must win their game before they will reveal its location. Instead, Ras knocks both Skulkin's skulls off their bodies with a single blow from his hammer, prompting them to immediately concede. Nuckal quickly gives Ras directions to the Forge, and the trio continues on their way. After Ras leaves, Arin and Sora help Kruncha and Nuckal reunite with their correct bodies and skulls. Grateful for the assistance, Nuckal remarks that they are accustomed to dealing with forceful individuals like Ras.

Arin, Sora, and Ras arrive at the Forge of the Forgotten, where Sora discovers that her technological abilities cannot interact with the ancient machine because it is powered by magic rather than technology. Ras activates the Forge, causing it to reveal the Casket of Bones, and explains that the Forge can only be powered by sacrificing a living person inside the casket. Realizing Ras intends to use her as the sacrifice, Sora recoils in horror. When Arin steps between them and refuses to let Ras carry out his plan, Ras argues that activating the Forge is the only way to save Arin's parents. He urges Arin to choose between his parents' lives and Sora's, insisting that true warriors must make impossible sacrifices, but Arin steadfastly refuses to let anyone die.

Following the Lees carrying the gravestones, Jay and Nya secretly make their way to the surface, though Jay accidentally knocks over several gravestones and nearly exposes them. After the Lees finish placing the gravestones and leave, the pair discovers markers bearing their Land of Lee aliases as well as the names of Arin's parents. Believing Barry and Jenny to be dead, Nya is devastated, but Jay notices another gravestone belonging to Melba, whom they had recently met alive. Realizing something is wrong, Jay uses his Elemental Power of Lightning to blast open Barry and Jenny's grave, revealing it to be completely empty. He concludes that Lee created the fake cemetery to convince outsiders that missing people had died, preventing anyone from searching further and discovering the hidden underground community. Before they can investigate further, several Lees catch them disturbing the cemetery, forcing Jay and Nya to flee.

Arin refuses Ras' demand to sacrifice Sora, insisting that she is his family just as much as his parents are. Disappointed by Arin's defiance, Ras attacks him, leading to a fierce battle throughout the Forge of the Forgotten. Arin and Sora fight together using Spinjitzu, while Ras overpowers them with his hammer and superior strength. During the battle, Arin discovers that he can combine Object Spinjitzu with ordinary objects, hurling bones at Ras to keep him at bay. However, Ras deflects one of the bones, causing it to shatter the base of a floating rock formation. As the island collapses, Arin and Sora escape, while Ras is buried beneath the falling debris. The two flee the Underworld through the Monster Skull's passage and return safely to Skeleton Village. Believing the Forge can no longer be used to rescue his parents, Arin is overcome with grief and breaks down in tears. Sora comforts him with an embrace as Arin mourns the loss of his parents and admits that, despite what she once told him, he is frightened by the changes his life has brought.

Jay and Nya continue evading the pursuing Lees before regrouping in the streets. Determined to rescue Lloyd and Wyldfyre, Jay prepares to attack one of Lee's bodies with his Lightning Daggers, insisting that he is no longer a ninja. Nya intervenes, reminding him that killing is against the ninja's code, and uses her elemental powers to stop his attack. As more Lees converge on them, Nya performs Spinjitzu to fend them off while Jay joins the fight. Their display of Spinjitzu is witnessed by Barry and Jenny, who immediately recognize them as the ninja. Jenny reveals that their son, Arin, had always admired the ninja, leading Jay and Nya to realize they have finally found Arin's parents.
