Overview
- For the Magic style of the same name, see Magic#Theroxian Magic.
Theroxian is an ancient language and culture[1] used by the Forbidden Five. It is closely linked to dark practices and regarded as an evil form of communication. It was inscribed on the Mallet of Shattering and also commonly used in scrolls that provide instructions for performing the Ritual of the Blood Moon or once it has been read, it allows users to use Theroxian Magic, a form of Dark Magic.
History
History[]
Background[]
The Theroxian language and its culture has existed prior to the formation of the Forbidden Five.[1] Millennia ago, the Forbidden Five received the dragon energy of Thunderfang and began using their new dark energy with Theroxian. This connection led to Chaos being intertwined with the Dark Magic from the Theroxian language.[2] It was then employed as instructions for performing a Blood Moon ritual. After the Forbidden Five were defeated and exiled at the hands of Egalt, Rontu, Bonzle, and Gandalaria, the remaining Theroxian scrolls were contained in the Shadow Dojo, which was sealed off by the Dragon Masters. At some point before the rise of the Blood Moon, some Theroxian scrolls made their way to the Cloud Kingdom archives.[3]
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
The Blood Moon[]
While inside the Shadow Dojo, Jordana tries to read some scrolls, but didn't recognize the language. While Ras tells Jordana that they'll learn all of the "ancient secrets" described in the scrolls through patience, they're both met up by Cinder.
Shattered Dreams[]
After conquering the Cloud Kingdom, the Wolf warriors forced the Writers of Destiny to translate the Theroxian language. Zane scanned them while he and the Ninja were sneaking in, but did not recognize it.
Beyond the Phantasm Cave[]
Jordana continued to study from Theroxian scrolls while Cinder practiced Shatterspin.
Jordana later approaches Ras and disclosed her knowledge of the spell to free the Forbidden Five, obtained through her crystal ball, indicating that Bonzle could be found in the Land of Lost Things.
Secrets of the Wyldness[]
When Jordana went to capture Bonzle in the magical storagehouse, she used her new magic to corrupt the protective container containing Bonzle. Theroxian runes appeared around the container which Zane recognized as the forbidden language.
The Forest of Spirits[]
After the last of the Theroxian texts were translated, Ras ordered the Wolf warriors to destroy the Writers and their home. The runes of the Theroxian language still appeared on the container.
Rising Ninja[]
When Ras arrives with Bonzle, he pronounces the incantation to the Ritual of the Blood Moon, causing Bonzle to be released and the runes on the protective container to disappear, allowing Jordana to control Bonzle's form to open the Nether-Space.
Dragons Rising, Season 3[]
Fallen Wishes[]
Rox attempt to use Theroxian magic but Sora wished her feet were stuck to the ground. After using Shatterspin to break free, she cast an incantation and trapped Arrakore in a timepiece.
Chaos Reigns[]
Theroxian texts were on the protective container, in which Wu was confined in by Ras and taken to the Monastery of Gates.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- According to Doc Wyatt, Theroxian was made by the show designers from Ninjargon with some changes to look different.[4]
- Sometimes, Theroxian appears as Ninjargon instead of its own writing. For example, in "Secrets of the Wyldness", the inscriptions on Bonzle's Protective container are written in Ninjargon ("Evil Dojo" and "Wolf Clan") while Zane describes them as Theroxian. The inscriptions at the Shadow Dojo and on the Wolf Clan members' suits are also Ninjargon.
- Although it's one of the known powers infused with Chaos, it doesn't seem to corrupt its users. This is evident in the case of Jordana, who harnessed Theroxian Magic for months without consequences. In contrast, members of the Wolf Clan, such as Cinder, experienced severe consequences from their powers, particularly with Shatterspin.
