Background[]

When the name of time was new, the Spirit Dragons were a part of the Mythica tribe, however, at some point around the first Tournament of the Sources, many dragons migrated to the Fengxian's City of Temples and swore allegiances to the family, with most of them taking the role of messengers who deliver invitations to Elemental Masters every new tournament. The remaining members of the tribe were later hunted down to extinction by the Oni.^[2]

Dragons Rising, Season 2[]

When Lloyd begged to the Source Dragons to show him how he could defeat the Wolf Clan and Shatterspin, while pondering in agony the true meaning of his visions, the Council of Sources sent seven Messenger Dragons, who flew around the Green Ninja, before summoning him to the Source Dragons' void.

Months after the Ritual of the Blood Moon, the new Tournament of the Sources had begun, and Messenger Dragons were sent across the Merged Lands to deliver invitations to the current generation of Elemental Masters. Particularly, the Spirit Dragons who delivered to Tox were put off by her casually poisoning the plants around and quickly left after delivering, confusing Tox, who shrugged off the moment.

Days later, to avoid exile from the tournament, the Ninja decided to partake in the Cavern Run, a race where they have to outrun a Pace Dragon in a dangerous track. With the help of the Ninja Team Combo Vehicle, they successfully reached and surpassed the Pace Dragon's speed, and won the race.

Dragons Rising, Season 3[]

Following the Tournament of the Sources, and Wyldfyre becoming the girlfriend of the current Games Master, Roby, the latter would frequently send Messenger Dragons to stay in contact with her, occasionally sending self drawn portraits of himself. Weeks after the tournament, the Temple City Museum was attacked by Kur of the Forbidden Five along with her battalion of Dragonian Trackers. In her pursuit of the Prismatic Blade, she decayed both Roby and the Messenger Dragon Hermes. After the raid, another messenger was sent to Lobbo's Totally Rad Arcade, Lobbo-Lobbo to inform Wyldyfre, Kai and Nya.

After Thunderfang's release and presumed permanent demise, Roby gave permission to the ninja to use some of his Messenger Dragons to allow Zane and P.I.X.A.L. to stay in touch with the ninja on their journey to explore the Merged Realms. Elsewhere, the Dragons of the Northern Spiral sent one of their Messenger Dragons to inform Egalt that they would be arriving to his dojo to accompany him in his final moment, however, the ill dragon knew that they would not be able to arrive in time.

Flight - Like most Dragons, Spirit Dragons can fly.
Rainbow Fire Breath - The Spirit Dragons can breathe rainbow colored fire.^[3]
- Decay antidote - The Spirit Dragons’ rainbow fire breath can cure victims of Decay.
