Plot

Plot[]

In Mysterium, Gandalaria travels to Abracalabria to procure magical supplies, including a repair for her damaged crystal ball by Pilly-Wig. A dispute arises between them regarding the extent of the damage, with Pilly-Wig recommending a replacement instead of a repair. As night falls, a thick fog envelops the area, accompanied by Kur, who plays a flute, all while several villagers to levitate. In an attempt to confront the emerging threat, Gandalaria uses her crystal ball, but it only emits a coconut instead.

As Arin and Sora immersed themselves in their training regimen, the former took the opportunity to reflect on the events that had unfolded since the Tournament of the Sources. The two friends engaged in a thoughtful discussion about the possibility of Ras keeping his promise to bring back Arin's parents. Arin voiced his cautious optimism, while Sora reassured him of her support,. At that moment, Ras returned, bringing news of their next destination. Sora, however, expressed her skepticism regarding Ras' knowledge of their route, questioning how he could possibly know where to go without any informants. Arin echoed her concerns, noting that the path to the Underworld was shrouded in mystery for everyone. Ras confidently asserted that he now possessed the necessary information to guide them. The trio then continued on their journey, yet Sora and Arin couldn't shake their worries about the well-being of the ninja, believing that it was merely another ordinary day back at the Monastery of Spinjitzu.

The ninja, accompanied by their dragons, utilized the Temple Bounty, a gift from Roby to Wyldfyre in gratitude for saving his life, to reach the training plateau of the Dragon Masters. However, the reckless piloting of Wyldfyre caused unease among the ninja. Upon arriving at the plateau, they were met by Rontu, who grimly informed them that Egalt was nearing death due to Wasting Sickness. Entering the enclosure, the group found Egalt in his final moments, his condition having deteriorated significantly. He shared heartfelt words with his last students, expressing gratitude to Lloyd for restoring his faith in humanity, acknowledging Arin's potential, praising Wyldfyre, and reminiscing with Rontu about their shared adventures before passing away peacefully. Before leaving, Riyu offers Rontu the chance to go with the ninja, but the Dragon Master refuses, arguing that this has been her home for centuries. The group leaves, although Riyu leaves the offer open.

Using their race bikes, Ras, Arin, and Sora drive to Mysterium. On the way to Abracalabria, Sora suspected Ras was fabricating his assertions, given his silence and sudden expertise on how to get to the Underworld. Ras, bristling at the interrogation, dismissively referred to Sora as an Imperian. Sora retorted, highlighting her ingenuity in building the race bikes. Ras, however, found Sora's persistent questioning irritating, belittling her contributions and pointedly addressing her as 'Ana.'

At the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Zane and P.I.X.A.L. readied themselves for an expedition into the Merged Lands, with Lloyd requesting updates on any monasteries they might discover. As they boarded the balloon, Zane emphasized that their journey was primarily about sharing new experiences together. After their departure, Lloyd expressed his concerns to Nya about the potential disbanding of the team, feeling inadequate compared to Master Wu's ability to unite the ninja. Nya reassured him, attributing the changes to the effects of the Merge, and Lloyd acknowledged that even the feeling of missing each other had transformed. Nya pointed out Jay's rudeness but highlighted the importance of maintaining faith in him, while Lloyd stressed Jay's role in locating Arin and Sora.

Meanwhile, in the relaxation room, Jay was absorbed in a game of Lava Zombies, criticizing Mr. Frohicky, who suspected Jay was faking his leg injury. When confronted by Lloyd and Nya, Jay accused them of attempting to break his Galamorph X-Post record. Nya explained that Kai had devised a plan to entice Jay with his favorite game, but Jay, skeptical, dismissed their assertions, claiming that anyone could know his likes and emphasizing his self-reliance. Despite Lloyd's attempts to remind Jay of their shared history through photographs and his room at the monastery, Jay remained unconvinced, insisting that such evidence could be fake. Ultimately, Lloyd chose to trust Jay's assertion that Arin's parents were alive, with Jay confirming their presence in the Land of Lee. When Lloyd suggested they search for them, Jay scoffed at the idea, doubting their chances of success and, while still pretending to be injured, declined to assist, citing his "real job" of finding Ras for Zeatrix. Nya questioned Jay's strong desire for money, leading Jay to include video games and enjoyable tea in his list of priorities. Unaware of the client being Zeatrix, Lloyd proposed to double her payment and even sell monastery scrolls to make it happen. He suggested they find Ras after securing Arin and Sora, offering Jay both financial support and help. Jay accepted the deal, but only as long as he is in charge and he can only bring three of them.

Meanwhile, Ras, Arin, and Sora finally arrive at the gates of Abracalabria, guarded by two cyclopses and several wizards who deny them entry. Initially, Ras explains that he only wants an audience with the Pontifex Magicus so he can go to the Underworld, but when he fails to convince the guardians, Ras decides to attack them.

Riyu plays with some nunchucks and sees Rontu arrive from the sky. Rontu says she will agree to live with the ninja, and she will also train Riyu to be a ninja, just as Egalt would have wanted.

Ras easily defeats the guards and enters the village, but his bravery turns to confusion when he sees several of the villagers walking clumsily, including the Pontifex Magicus. The Wizard Guard explains that they were attacked last night. Most of the people believe that the trio was the cause of the attack, but Gandalaria emerges from the crowd and defends the ninja. More calmed, Gandalaria explains that at dusk, invisible beings attacked the people, leaving them in "living sleep." Initially, Sora theorizes that it was the Soul Suckers and asks Gandalaria about that sound. But at that very moment, the event repeats itself: The sound is heard again, the fog manifests itself, and Kur reappears to finish her unfinished work.
