Thunderfang's release was an event in which the Forbidden Five released Thunderfang from his prison in exchange for more power. However, Thunderfang betrayed the five and consumed their souls, breaking free to wreck havoc on the First Land. Thunderfang would ultimately be defeated by Arin using healing elixir, releasing the souls of the Oni and sending the dragon to the Spectral Lands.

Prelude[]

After the Forbidden Five collected the final two Prismatic Blades, they cut the final two chains that hold Thunderfang in his prison, finally releasing him after a milennia of imprisonment. Awaiting their gift, Rox demands that Thunderfang gifts her and the rest of the Five the powers he had promised them after freeing him. However, Thunderfang reveals that he never intended to honor his end of the deal after being free and derides them as "fools" for their naivety, and stating that they are pathetic if they truly trusted him. The Five are horrified, angered and shocked by their master's deception and betrayal, But before they could do anything else, Thunderfang gleefully drains their souls from their bodies in order to strengthen himself after a millenia of imprisonment, causing the Five's bodies great physical pain as they scream in agony before he finally devours their souls, killing the Forbidden Five and leaving their dead bodies on the floor of his prison. Strengthened and satisfied at the deaths of his minions, Thunderfang roars loudly as he begins to emerge from the depths of his prison to exact vengeance upon the Merged Realms once more, and the Five's bodies are presumably crushed beneath the rubble.

After Thunderfang's defeat, the Oni and Lloyd's soul released. Some of the Oni moved on, while Lloyd's soul returned back to his body. And also, the corrupted Dragonians are freed from Thunderfang's corruption, which they thanked the about. After the battle, Arin and Ras left the ninja, which Sora also joined.

After being killed by Arin, Thunderfang's soul was banished to the Spectral Lands where he meets Morro, but they are ambushed by four Soul Suckers, Morro who offers to protect him. But Thunderfang is arrogantly miffed that he even needed protection, claiming that he can handle himself, and absorbs the souls of the Soul Suckers, Morro is shocked by his power, stating that is impossible, but Thunderfang claimed that anything in the afterlife was possible. Thunderfang then gleefully absorbs Morro's soul as well, then cackles gleefully as he starts to set his plan in motion to become a "Source Dragon".
