Overview
The Freebooters are a faction of dragon hunters and mercenaries that emerged from the rebranding of the Claws of Imperium following the Liberation of Imperium. Rapton took the initiative to revitalize the Claws of Imperium into the Freebooters, allowing him and the Claw Hunters to persist in their dragon hunting endeavors and profit from their captures.

At some point, Rapton and the Claw Hunters eventually got bored of the peace and reformed the Claws of Imperium under the name Freebooters.
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
The Freebooters came across the ninja, who were trying to take the child of the recently murdered Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons to Riyu's herd. The Freebooters ambush them, having followed said dragon to kidnap the child. They were immediately blamed for the death of the Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons, until the ninja destroyed all but one hover chariot, forcing them to retreat.
Dragons Rising, Season 3[]
Rapton and the Freebooters have been more successful at looting. Among the supplies were the Red Prismatic Blade. They went to the First Land Monastery where they end up stealing a techno-cocoon into their prison train. Zane went into the train and found P.I.X.A.L. inside the cocoon. Zane and P.I.X.A.L. both fought Rapton and both escape. Although the pair return to save Rapton when Zane notices Nokt and several Dragonian Warriors flying to them. Rapton and the Freebooters agree to help fight Nokt and the Dragonians, although it results in the train getting damage and almost causing the train to crash. Rapton, P.I.X.A.L., and the Freebooters survived but Zane was severely damaged while stopping the train. Nokt manage to take the Red Prismatic Blade. Rapton reluctantly allows P.I.X.A.L. to repair Zane using the stuff he stole.
Weeks later, Rapton and the Freebooter flew to Djinjago where the group into Sora, Riyu, Frak, and Wyldfyre. The three silence Rapton due to an "angry djinn" sleeping in the Cave of Bells, but really Arrakore and Zanth a Djinjagan Dragon being in the trying to concentrate to resurrect the tan half of the Arc Dragon of Focus. Rapton fought the group and escape stealing some treasure, which is revealed to be a rare Djinjagan Unicorn figurine. While escaping Rapton ran into Kur, who flew pass both him and the Freeboothers, with Rapton thanking she wasn't after them.
