Culture[]

Imperians, a civilization that presents itself as a paragon of virtue and the pursuit of perfection, initially appear to be a commendable society. They used to possess a deep animosity towards those who come from other realms, whom they derogatorily labeled as "outlanders," due to Levo's disdain for these realms. Their understanding of the other realms was limited as Levo considered Imperium to be the superior realm.[1][2][3][4] However, during Beatrix's rule, the Imperians' concerns were solely centered around Beatrix's own interests and the prosperity of the Kingdom of Imperium.[5]

Apart from the Empress Mech, Imperians do not own any land vehicles. Instead, they use antigravity vehicles such as hover chariots and hoverboards. They also use moving sidewalks while traveling throughout the streets of Imperium.[5]

One aspect of the Imperians' worldview was their belief in the inherent evil of dragons, who they do not only feared but also view with absolute contempt. They used to display lack of concern for the well-being and preservation of dragons, they saw the Claws of Imperium as heroes for relentlessly hunting down dragons.[6] The Claws of Imperium were solely dedicated to the extraction of dragon energy, the life force of all dragon-kind, which served as a vital power source for Imperium's technological advancements and societal functioning.[7]

However, the Imperians turned against Beatrix after they watched a video where she confessed to eliminating the citizens from the kingdom in cruel ways, just like she did with her father and sister. They were also appalled by her actions of torturing dragons for their energy.[8] After the world was properly balanced, the Kingdom of Imperium was restabished to a city and are in plans of forming a council.[9] One notable change was their uniforms with some sporting different colors instead of just black.[10]

Imperium face markings

  • The facial patterns found on the Imperians serve the purpose of indicating their social status within Imperium. It is a method employed to organize and categorize them, treating them almost like objects, which is a common approach in totalitarian societies.[11]
    • Members of the Advanced Systems Lab all have three straight markings facing upwards on their right cheek. The lines have a short horizontal start and a small dash at the end.
    • Teachers have three curved lines starting with a small dash and ending on a horizontal position on their right cheek.
    • Male civil service class members have three longer lines facing down and ending with a 135 degree turn with a short dash at the end on their left cheek.
    • Female civil service class members have four short lines located on the upper sides of their right cheek.
    • Members of the Royal Family, with a total of eight intricate lines on each side of the face, male members of the family have markings on both sides of the face, while female members only have it on their left side.
    • These facial patterns are permanent unless changed with a special technology.[12]
    • Because they lack the markings on their faces, it is possible that the Imperian children receive them when they reach mature age.
    • Sora's face markings also resemble a cat's whiskers.
    • In "Shattered Dreams," Imperians seem to lack their markings, although it is possible that they lack them due to not reaching a mature age yet.
    • Rapton is one of the few Imperians that lack facial patterns. According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, the reason for this is related to involves spoilers.[12]
  • The unnamed Imperians reuse hair from Nurse (LEGO Minifigures Series 1), The Joker (The LEGO Batman Movie), Superman (LEGO Super Heroes) and Soldier: 76 (LEGO Overwatch)
  • So far, every half year of Ninjago: Dragons Rising there is an Imperian villain minifigure released despite the fact that they as a faction were defeated at the end of Season 1 in 2023. In the first and second half of 2024, Jordana was a part of the villain group and in 2025, Dr. LaRow was released as a part of 71837 Ninjago City Workshops.
