Loyalist assault

“Now to take back what's mine. March on Imperium!”

— Beatrix to the Loyalists and Elemental Monsters, "The Heartbeat of all the Realms"

The Loyalist assault^[1] was a battle that took place in the City of Imperium and opposed the citizens of Imperium and the ninja to Beatrix and her armies of Loyalists and Elemental Monsters who tried to reinstate "the Good Empress" to her throne.

History

History[]

Wielding the Weapon of Desolation, Beatrix lead the Loyalists toward Imperium with Cole in handcuffs. She offered the citizens a final opportunity to surrender, threatening death for any resistance. Percival stood firm against her, urging the crowd to voice their support for freedom, which they did. Accepting this defiance, Beatrix used the weapon to summon the Elemental Monsters, commanding them to advance on the city. Cole, despite his powers not working, managed to break free, allowing him to leap onto Beatrix's platform. When LaRow attempted to intervene, he knocked her aside and seized the Weapon of Desolation, transforming into his Elemental Golem form. Cole destroys the platform, sending them crashing down and causing the weapon to slip from Beatrix's grasp. Without anyone to hold the weapon, Elemental Monsters became chaotic as they halted their ascent. Regaining control of the weapon, Beatrix commanded the monsters to attack, forcing Cole to defend himself while she directed the Mutation Monsters to scale the wall.

As Cole continues to fight, Jay, Nya, and Kai arrive in the Transforming Car. At the top of the Imperium Broadcast Tower, Percival and the Imperian scientists restored the electro-barrier, which successfully powered up and shocked the advancing Mutation Monsters. However, the barrier soon began to fail due to sabotage by Loyalists within the city. Despite Percival's efforts to fix it, the barrier kept shutting down. Meanwhile, Nya headed toward the city, and Kai and Jay joined Cole in fighting the monsters. As Percival investigated the barrier's issues, Nya entered the tower's lower levels and discovered Loyalists stealing power cells, pursuing them.

The Mutation Monsters reached the city gates just as Sora, Frak, and Wyldfyre arrived on Riyu to stop them. Sora teamed up with Nya to prevent the Loyalists from breaching the city walls. Despite the ninja's efforts, one device managed to create a new opening, allowing Beatrix to command her forces to invade. The Loyalists and Elemental Monsters flood through the breach, launching attacks on the citizens. Nya and Sora fight to defend the Imperians, using Spinjitzu to push back the attackers as they struggle with their Elemental Powers. Meanwhile, Percival charges at Beatrix, but she easily overpowered him with her tentacle arm, ridiculing his assertion of serving the citizens and threatening to annihilate them if they do not surrender. Just then, Lloyd arrived in his Draconus Form, confronting Beatrix as they prepare to clash.

Outside the city walls, the remaining ninja face overwhelming odds against the Elemental Monsters until Lloyd channeled a surge of Life energy, stabilizing their Powers. He attempted to warn Beatrix about the dangers of the Weapon of Desolation, but she dismissed his concerns and commanded the nearby monsters to attack him. Meanwhile, Sora and Nya continued to guide civilians to safety, but Sora was unable to use her powers against Beatrix's now-organic mech. Arin arrived, using Object Spinjitzu to throw a rock at a Mutation Monster, rescuing Nya and Sora in the process. They are soon joined by Zane and Euphrasia, and together they continue to lead the Imperians to safety. Lloyd battled the Elemental Monsters, defeating them while the rest of the ninja managed to seal the breach in the city, preventing more monsters from entering. However, the Weapon of Desolation began to exert its influence over Beatrix, allowing her to unleash a massive burst of Source Energy that transformed the Elemental Monsters, leaving Dr. LaRow anxious, as she had not foreseen the weapon's true power.

Lloyd was overwhelmed by the larger Earth Monsters, but Cole and Riyu arrived to help him. Beatrix, however, tapped into the power of the Weapon of Desolation once more, boosting the strength of the Elemental Monsters. This surge in power allowed them to gain the upper hand against the ninja. As the Earth Monsters relentlessly attacked Lloyd, the Arc Dragon of Life reminded him of his true power. Lloyd sees the vision of roots once again, then releases another burst of Life that transforms Nya, Kai, Jay, and Zane into Draconus Forms, enabling them to defeat the empowered monsters. Beatrix fumes as Lloyd disarms her, and she tries to retrieve the Weapon of Desolation, but Euphrasia intervenes and takes it from her. Because the weapon was too unstable for an Elemental Master to wield, Arin had had to be the one to neutralize it. With Beatrix losing the weapon, the Earth Monsters turned on her, ultimately putting her into a coma. Cole remembered that the spell could be activated by speaking it backward and suggested that the final word needed to be spoken forward. After several tries, Arin successfully said “Tangauv-Hab,” triggering the weapon to release a wave that absorbed all the Elemental Monsters.

Aftermath[]

With the weapon now neutralized, the Whispering Wood and its inhabitants were rejuvenated. Several Loyalists tried to kill the ninja or escape from Imperium, but most were captured. However, many managed to escape and went into hiding, including Sora's parents, who chose to stay at the Monastery of Spinjitzu to avoid the authorities. With many Loyalists arrested in Imperium Prison, Beatrix is confined in a medical facility at Borg Tower, while Dr. LaRow was interrogated by Lloyd, Arin, Sora, and Percival regarding the Weapon of Desolation. LaRow was appalled that Beatrix took credit for discovering the weapon before explaining that she intended to assist Beatrix and manage her more dangerous tendencies. Lloyd argued that Beatrix was unmanageable, a point LaRow doubted, noting that it was the weapon that controlled her.
