- After Reginald placed an enchanted handkerchief over the fragment of the Weapon of Desolation, he noted that it was not his first encounter with cursed relics. This is a callback to "Cursed!," where Reginald had showcased various cursed artifacts retrieved by the Explorer's Club to Kreel and Lobbo.
- Reginald references the issue of discrimination by humans against the Serpentine, mentioning the motto "Never trust a snake" first said in "Never Trust a Snake". This issue was never truly addressed before but was shown to be the case in Seasons 1 to 4 of the original series.
- This episode marks the first time the Golden Weapons have been mentioned in Ninjago: Dragons Rising as Lloyd refers to when he was first revealed as the Green Ninja in "The Green Ninja". However, they did appear in an illusion in "The Temple of the Dragon Cores".
- This is also the first time since "Elemental Rider" where the Golden Weapons have been mentioned as such, as they are referred to as the Weapons of Spinjitzu every time they are mentioned after this.
- Lloyd mirrors Tween Lloyd's quote, 'Each tree is connected. Trees are life. You are the Master of Life.' at the end of "Dying to Live".

- The scroll depicting all the ninja doesn't include Wyldfyre, though it might be because she is primarily Kai's student and not Lloyd's.
- When asked why Wyldfyre wasn't included, Chris "Doc" Wyatt simply responded "Visions are weird."[4]
