Background[]

At an unknown point in time, Umbrasilvis would be built in some hills in the realm which contained the Tree of Burdens and its fountain would be linked to the pit in the Realm of Eternal Dawn. During the First Spinjitzu Master's visit to the realm, he visited the village and hid the red fragment of the Weapon of Desolation in the Tree of Burdens. Five centuries prior to the Quest for Desolation, a flag would be hung on a wall in Umbrasilvis.^[2]

Dying to Live (flashback)[]

After escaping the Land of Monsters, Beatrix ended up in the hills near Umbrasilvis where Dr. LaRow found her.

Before Dragons Rising, Season 4[]

After the Liberation of Imperium, one of the Loyalists went undercover in Umbrasilvis and took the charge of the village as the Grand Inquisitor.^[3]

Prior to The Lean of a Tree[]

A Mutation Monster was conjured by the Weapon of Desolation in Umbrasilvis. As a result the Explorer's Club sent a team lead by Reginald Slitherbottom to the village to hunt it.

The Lean of a Tree[]

After falling through the pit in the Land of Eternal Dawn, the ninja Frak, Sora, Wyldfyre, and Riyu arrived in Umbrasilvis via the fountain and noticed the Expanding Frontier. Sora said they could go back to Ninjago with that zepline, much to Frak's unwillingness. Then they got closer to the Explorer's Club and met with Reginald Slitherbottom.

Tonight We Hunt Monsters[]

After introducing the ninja to the rest of the Explorer's Club, Reginald said they could take them back to Ninjago. However, he also said they need to catch a monster first to display in Ninjago.

During the night, the Explorer's Club gets ready to capture the monster with their Lariat Launchers. They decide to split up so the first one who can catch the monster can name it, much to Frak's concerns. After a while, the ninja runs into the Mutation Monster, who tries to attack to the Explorer's Club. But thanks to the ninja's help, it fails. During the chase, the Mutation Monster encounters Reginald. Reginald tries to catch the monster, only to fail. Frak tries to save his dad, only for his powers to not work. However, Riyu distracts the monster, dodging its attacks. Unfortunately, the monster manages to hit a shoot on him and then strangles Riyu. But thanks to Sora using the metals she found, she makes a trap the monster in a technological cage. However, because of monster's corrupted powers, Riyu gets the Numbness, causing him to fall weak. During this Reginald scolds Frak for getting in his way, but Frak was focused on Riyu.

A Wonder of the Merged Lands[]

After Riyu's battle with the Mutation Monster, some Umbrasilvans and the ninja tried to aid him in the windmill. Then Johnny Courageous came, informing the ninja about the Mutation Monster's current state, only to be dragged by some Umbrasilvans. Wyldfyre said Riyu got "the Numbness", which confused Frak and Sora. After Wyldfyre explained the illness, Sora pointed out the fact that the monster looked it was made out of Elemental Energy, which gave her the idea of using its energy to cure Riyu. After Freya brought her some technology they could find, Sora made an energy extraction device and went to the Expanding Frontier with Frak, where they found the Explorer's Club celebrating monster's capture. After a brief conversation with Reginald, sora put the device the containtment unit monster was in, which started collecting energy from it. As Reginald tried to charge them money for using the creature's energy, the device became full, allowing Sora and Frak to leave the ship. When they went back to the windmill, Sora had a conversation with Frak about his dad, while injecting the energy into Riyu. However, Wyldfyre said the energy did not change anything, saddening the team. After Wyldfyre they need to try until it works, Sora and Frak went to the ship again while taking the device with them, only to find the place in a mess and see no one. Then they heard someone scream, which they went to check.

Seed and Soil[]

As Rontu sensed Riyu is going to die in Umbrasilvis, Wyldfyre looked at the ship, wondering where Sora and Frak are. While continuing to search for the monster, Frak and Sora decided to split, going to different ways. While Sora was searching for the monster, she encountered Rowan, who said they were the one who screamed and pointed the direction Mutation Monster went. Then, she started hearing, only to find out it's coming from the rattling slats, while monster was behind her back. As Frak was continuing his search, he encountered a mysterious individual that he thought who freed the monster. However, the figure pushed him and ran away, as Frak heard Sora's scream, which he decided to go. The monster tried to attack the energy extraction device, only for Sora to save the device and herself. As Frak arrived, the Mutation Monster ran away to Umbrasilvis. Then Reginald came, scolding the two for letting "his" monster to escape, but Sora and Frak ignored him and went after the monster.

In the village, they found the monster attacking two Umbrasilvans. Thankfully, the ninja arrived on time, saving the citizens. While Wyldfyre was still in the windmill with Riyu, she heard Frak and Sora talking as they fought against the monster. When the monster was about to attack Frak, Wyldfyre came to the rescue, joining the fight. Wyldfyre commanded Sora to give Riyu the energy, only for Sora to say they still have to get the energy, which angered her. As the fight continued, the Mutation Monster grabbed Sora, which allowed her to collect the energy from its neck. However, monster threw her, which knocked the device. However, Freya was able to take it. After Frak told her to save Riyu as he holds the monster with Wyldfyre, Sora got the device back from Freya and arrived at the windmill, injecting the energy into Riyu, which had weird effects on him. As Frak and Wydlfyre cornered the monster, it transformed into a more monstrous from, surprising him as the same mysterious individual watched from far away. As the fight continued, the monster passed in front of them and grabbed the two, only for Gweeg to arrive and use a Lariat Launcher on the monster, which distracted the monster and made him release the ninja. As they ran away from the monster, Gweeg ran away as well.

While Sora was still in the windmill with Riyu, Riyu started remembering his adventures with the ninja, while also hearing Egalt's words. As Sora cried, she heard the battle on the outside, she went to check it, only turn back and see the Mutation Monster's energy is having strange effects on Riyu. While this was happening, the Mutation Monster knocked Frak and Wyldfyre, only for Riyu to come and transform into a bigger form, much to its and the ninja's surprise. Then, Riyu broke two blades out of the windmill and used them while fighting against the Mutation Monster, while the ninja surprised how powerful the antidote was. As the fight continued, Riyu knocked the monster and was going to strike it, until the monster disappeared. Then, the ninja appreciated him, saying that was amazing, which was followed by the Umbrasilvans and Gweeg thanking him, as the mysterious individual watched from far away and left.

Just Under the Surface[]

After the Mutation Monster's disappearance, the ninja talks about Riyu's new form. As they continue, the Explorer's Club comes from the ship and tells them they are going back to Ninjago because of the Mutation Monster's escape. However, the Grand Inquisitor comes in and stops them, saying that Umbrasilvis is in lockdown and no one is leaving here until someone is punished for the monster's escape. Despite Sora's efforts, the Grand Inquisitor interrupts her and says no one is leaving until someone is punished, at which the Umbrasilvans cheered.

When Nya asked Sora where she came from, Sora mentioned their time in the Land of Eternal Dawn and Umbrasilvis. Later, Frak said that there are more kinds of monsters in Imperium than Umbrasilvis, which confused Cole.

The whole village's aesthetic and the people's roles are based on medieval Europe cities and villages along with their traditions. Some aspects of the village (visual choices, plot elements taking place there) are also inspired by classic monster stories like Dracula or Frankenstein.
