Plot

Plot[]

During the early days of the Crossroads, a pink Hypnobrai attaches a missing poster of her daughter to a notice board. A young Sora approaches the notice board and gets lost in memories of her past life in Imperium. She remembers her parents falsely assuming her passion for scientific studies was intended to serve Imperium. She recalls interacting with Subject 152-9a, learning the lab techs called the dragon "Sora", the ancient Imperium word for orphan. She remembers Dr. LaRow draining power from the dragon to demonstrate possibilities, despite her protests to stop. Walking distractedly, Sora bumps into a man, knocking over a crate. She spots a fallen screwdriver and narrowly dodges an oncoming car while retrieving it. She remembers her parents threatening to dismantle her workbench and forcing her to find new interests if she refused to use her science to support Imperium's goals. Pocketing the screwdriver, Sora recalls tearing down a poster of Dr. LaRow, rejecting Empress Beatrix's vision, grabbing her backpack and headphones, and escaping through her window. In the Crossroads, a hungry Sora tries to take an Urchin Fruit from a Merlopian vendor, who refuses her because she has no valid local currency. When an old woman confronts the vendor for price gouging, the vendor callously throws away food. Sora snatches a fruit, causing the crate to spill. The vendor offers free fruit to anyone who catches her, turning the crowd into a mob that chases Sora. While fleeing, Sora trips, losing her fruit and headphones. She crashes into Arin, who is carrying a stack of homemade pies. Arin hands Sora the pies to hold so she can hide in plain sight. When one of the pursuers tries to buy a pie, Arin claims they are closed, grabs the pies back, and runs away with Sora. Once safe, Arin shares a slice of pie with Sora after hearing her stomach rumble. He introduces himself, explaining his belief that people must stick together after the Merge to survive. Sora starts to say her real name "Ana" before choosing to go by "Sora" instead.

In the World Forest, the ninja confront Arin and Lord Ras. Sora disembarks from her jet while Frak waves at Arin, prompting Ras to growl. Arin expresses shock at seeing Sora, Frak, and a newly oversized Zane, remarking on how much has changed since they last met. Lloyd demand Ras to release Arin, but Ras insists that Arin remains by his side willingly. Kai dismisses Ras's claim as a villainous lie. However, Arin confirms Ras is telling the truth, revealing that Ras is officially his new master, leaving Riyu and the rest of the ninja completely baffled.

Sora finds her discarded headphones in the Crossroads junkyard. She puts them on to test them and starts dancing to the music, narrowly escaping two guard dogs by climbing over a fence. She meets Arin in the Crossroads after he crashes while testing a Grapple Gun she built for him. Arin accidentally fires it, attaching to a pole and tripping the same Merlopian vendor from before, making him drop his Urchin Fruit. Arin puts on Lloyd's old hood and practices a rudimentary Spinjitzu, correcting Sora when she playfully scrambles the names of the ninja. Sora picks up a welding mask from a broken box and admits she didn't have friends or ninja where she came from. In their penthouse that evening, Sora builds a custom oven to replace Arin's campfire setup. When she hits it to adjust the heat, the oven shakes violently and explodes. As the explosion sets Arin's recipe book on fire, he frantically smothers the flames using Lloyd's flame-resistant mask. Frustrated, he yells that it was a mistake. Sora, shocked and hurt by his reaction, runs off before Arin can apologize for snapping.

Ras refuses to let Arin go, claiming he is training him just like he once trained Frak. Frak counters that he left once he realized Ras's true nature, while Kai points out Ras's evil past of trapping people in Nether-Space. Lloyd urges Arin to return the team, but Zane clarifies that their search was focused on finding the remaining Prismatic Weapon held by Arin. Sora firmly rejects calling Arin a "former ally". Lloyd shows the Prismatic Blade to Arin, asking if he possesses a matching weapon. Arin draws the Returning Blade, which Ras immediately confiscates, identifying it as a Prismatic Steel trophy he has held for years. Sora explains that these two blades are the final Prismatic Weapons the Forbidden Five need to release the Chaos Dragon. After Kai shoves Sora clear of a giant falling branch, Ras decides to retreat with the blade to keep it out of the Five's hands. Frak leaps to attack Ras using his element, but Arin blocks him with Spinjitzu, pleading with the ninja to let them leave. Before the confrontation escalates further, Rogue suddenly swoops in and snatches Ras, flying away with him and leaving Arin exasperated.

Following their argument, Sora walks away through the Crossroads alone, unaware that a truck is trailing her. Arin frantically searches for her, asking around for directions despite bumping into a Lava-Tide and getting berry ooze on his face. Sora reflects on her isolation, feeling unable to return to Imperium or stay somewhere she has alienated others. She spots what appears to be a lost cat behind some barrels and follows it to the back of a truck to comfort it. As Sora approaches, the cat attacks her, and two members of the Re-Awakened slam and lock the truck doors behind her. The men laugh about capturing another "lonely Other-realmer" to send as labor for the mines. Sora fruitlessly tries to punch her way out of the locked truck as it drives away. Arin arrives just in time to see the truck leave, desperately calling after them to stop because they have taken his best friend.

As Rogue hauls a bound Lord Ras away, Kai asks who he was, and Arin bitterly labels him his "new least favorite person" before donning his mask and flying off on his glider. Declaring that she will not lose Arin again, Sora takes off in her jet, closely followed by Zane and Riyu. Nya leads the rest of the team toward their car, but they are halted as the sky flashes red. Drix arrives alongside six Dragonian Trackers. Lloyd realizes they are after the Prismatic Blades, while Frak steps up to stand ground against them. Drix orders his Dragonians to fly after Rogue, Ras, and the pursuing ninja to retrieve the blade. Landing before the remaining ninja, Drix taunts that defeating them will be easy. Kai warns Drix that he will regret sending his army away, but Drix remains unbothered as they prepare to battle.

As Rogue drags him through the air, Lord Ras demands to be released immediately under threat of eternal retribution. Arin closes in rapidly on his glider, prompting Rogue to draw his daggers. Sora, Zane, and Riyu weave through the forest trees behind them. Sora spots Arin ahead just as the Dragonians flank them. She warns the others, allowing Zane to drop a heavy branch onto three Dragonians while Riyu uses his tail to whip a branch into the remaining three. As Sora gets close, Arin accelerates and lands on Rogue's back, demanding that he let Ras go. Rogue tilts sharply to his right, causing Arin to slip down toward the tip of his wing. Taking advantage, Rogue begins jabbing at Arin with his daggers.

Kai attacks Drix with fire, but Drix dodges and tosses him aside. Frak attempts to strike, but Drix repels him with a Shatterspin-powered kick. P.I.X.A.L. saves Frak and blasts Drix with vehicle cannons, though Drix's Shatterspin barrier absorbs the blow unharmed. Nya high-fives Lloyd and urges him to escape with the Prismatic Blade. She uses her Rising Dragon Technique, but Drix vanishes into a swarm of bugs and kicks her into Kai. When Kai blasts a hole through Drix's torso with fire, Drix simply regenerates from bugs, leaving Kai and Frak horrified. Drix overwhelms Kai and Nya with bugs, then fires another swarm at P.I.X.A.L. and Frak, causing their car to malfunction and crash onto a lower branch. Deciding to use the legendary weapon, Lloyd leaps out to fight Drix. He repeatedly turns into a bug swarm to dodge Lloyd's strikes, kicks him toward the edge, ambushes him from behind, and snatches the blade. When the other ninja rush to assist Lloyd, Drix blasts them all away with a wave of Shatterspin, forcing them to catch themselves on lower branches as Drix flies off with the blade.

While Sora demands to be let out of the truck, Arin navigates Crossroads shortcuts to catch up. After tasting the berry ooze on his hands and noting it would be great in a pie, he climbs a roof and tries jumping onto the truck, but misses and lands on another car moving in the opposite direction. Arin fires his Grapple Gun, latching onto the truck and pulling himself through the air. When the truck suddenly halts, he flies forward and hits the windshield right in front of the clueless Re-Awakened drivers. Inside the truck, Sora attempts to forgive the cat, but it scratches her. Arin kicks through the roof to save her. When Sora admits she thought he didn't want to be friends anymore after their argument, Arin reassures her that friends make mistakes and reiterates that they must stick together. Despite a sharp turn and the cat grabbing her leg, Arin pulls Sora out onto the truck's roof. When a Skulkin Re-Awakened member climbs up with a sword, Arin uses Sora's Grapple Gun to pull them both up toward a nearby building. The attacker loses her balance, falling into the cage where the cat attacks her as Arin and Sora escape to safety.

In the World Forest, Arin fights Rogue in mid-air, blocking a thrown dagger with his glider wings. He leaps onto Rogue's transport rope, cuts it with the dagger, and latches onto a tree to break their fall, freeing Ras on a branch. Rogue grabs Arin and drags him to another branch where they trade blows. Nearby, Ras uses his hammer to fight off a Dragonian, while Riyu, Zane, and Sora combat the remaining Dragonian Trackers. Rogue cuts the branch Arin is standing on, causing Arin to lose his grip and fall. Sora uses her power to blow away Rogue's suit before setting her jet to autopilot and diving off to save Arin. As they fall, brief flashbacks show Arin baking pie with Ooze Berries in the oven Sora built, with both agreeing they are "stronger together". Sora fires her Grapple Gun, catching a branch to halt their fall. Holding hands, both apologize to each other. Sora begs Arin to return the team, promising to help find his parents. Crying, Arin reveals that he already found his parents and that they are dead, leaving Sora in complete shock as they hug. Drix ambushes Ras with Shatterspin, disarming him of his hammer and slamming him to the ground. Drix reclaims the Returning Blade, uniting all the Prismatic Blades. As Dragonians immobilize Riyu and damage Zane, Drix flies off carrying both blades, Ras, and his hammer—leaving Zane to realize nothing remains to stop them from unleashing the Chaos Dragon.
