History[]

Background[]

The Source Dragon of Flow, among the seven Source Dragons, played a role in maintaining balance across the realms. Each Source Dragon represented a unique source.^[8] As a result, the emergence of Elemental Powers was influenced by the Source Dragons.^[9]

At some point, indirectly the powers of Water and Wind were granted to the creature Wojira.^[10]

The First Spinjitzu Master came the Source Dragons and humbly implored them to contribute their dragon energy to create the Dragon Cores, which were meant to avert the Coalescence,^[11] an imminent event wherein all realms would merge into a single world, a consequence brought about by Source Dragon energy.^[12]

When Thunderfang, the dragon of Chaos, attacked the City of Temples after being rejected from the council of the Source Dragons, the council decided to send the mortal avatar of the Source Dragon of Focus, the Arc Dragon of Focus to stop the Chaos dragon. After its task was completed, the avatar of the Focus Source Dragon was split into two halves, which were put into a deep slumber.

When Lloyd sought help from the Source Dragons to find a way how to counter Shatterspin, they all summoned him to their void, where they discussed what to do, and agreed to help him after the Source Dragon of Energy begged them to aid him, like he aid him back in Imperium. Albeit voiceless, the Source Dragon of Flow seemed to be fine with their decision, showing no signs of objection when the Source Dragon of Motion gave Lloyd a vision.

The Source Dragon of Flow was meeting with the other Source Dragons on the fate of the mortals. They agreed with the Source Dragons of Energy and Motion to aid the mortals in defeating Thunderfang once and for all, but then the Source Dragon of Strength realizes that Lloyd was listening to their conversation and then he was forced out the council’s void.

Chaos Reigns[]

The ninja's choice to awaken the Arc Dragon of Focus to face Thunderfang had resulted in a fallout among the Source Dragons. The Source Dragons of Motion, Flow, and Energy stayed behind while the Source Dragons of Strength, Life, and Focus decided to withdraw from the Council of Sources. When the Source Dragon of Energy discussed their brethren's actions to be unthinkable, the Source Dragon of Flow pointed out the ninja's choice to awaken the Arc Dragon of Focus without any of their consent, asserting that the Source Dragon of Energy must acknowledge the impropriety of such actions. Yet, the Source Dragon of Motion came to the defense of the ninja, arguing that their intentions were not misguided. Nevertheless, Energy voiced deep concern for the mortals, highlighting that the disruption of Elemental Powers, caused by the absence of Focus, Life, and Strength, would inevitably result in chaos among Elemental Masters and their powers. Flow added to this lamentation by reflecting on the violation of their promise to the First Spinjitzu Master, suggesting that the actions of their fellow Source Dragons could end the current cycle. Motion clarified that such a trajectory could lead to the end of all cycles, emphasizing that the universe had never encountered such danger.

Personality[]

The Source Dragon of Flow fosters a deep sense of loyalty and honor. When Thunderfang's threat was imminent, they sided with Motion and Energy to summon the Arc Dragon of Focus to defeat him once and for all and also save the mortal world and themselves from his wrath. Despite the fallout in the Council of Sources, Flow was a bit sympathetic to their choice since the Ninja did choose to awaken the Arc Dragon of Focus without the council's approval, saying it was noble but improper as it threw the universe into chaos. They also showed a degree of honor in keeping promises, because while being sympathetic to Life, Focus, and Strength's leave, they pointed out that it was a violation of their promise to the First Spinjitzu Master.

Abilities[]

• Transcendent Dragon Physiology - As a Source Dragon, the Source Dragon of Flow is a dragon of godlike power that exists beyond concepts like Time, Space, Reality, and Dimensionality unless they take their mortal form,^[13] and is comparable to Greek gods in terms of power and abilities.^[13]
  • Immortality - As a Source Dragon, Flow cannot be killed unless they take on their mortal form.^[14]
  • Retrocognition - As a Source Dragon, Flow is capable of viewing and perceiving the past.
  • Precognition - As a Source Dragon, Flow is capable of viewing and perceiving the future.
  • Flow Embodiment - As the Source Dragon of Flow, they embody the flow in the Merged Realms.
  • Telepathy - Similar to a few other dragons, the Source Dragon of Flow possesses the ability to communicate with other beings by using telepathic powers.
  • Draco-Ergokinesis - As a Source Dragon, the Source Dragon of Flow is capable of manipulating their dragon energy.
    • Elemental Creation/Linkage - By embodying Flow, the Source Dragon of Flow serves as the foundation of various Elemental Powers, with their energy being integral to the source of Flow. They are connected to several Elemental Powers of which they are the source, including Golden Power (with their siblings),^[1] Water,^[2] Smoke,^[5] Form,^[6] Wind,^[4] and Time,^[3] as well as those that could have been developed by others through the Flow source.^[15] They also depend on the other Source Dragons; when the Source Dragons of Strength, Life, and Focus withdrew from the council, it disrupted the balance of Elemental Powers, causing a disconnection between the Elemental Masters and their powers whether they are derived from Flow or other sources.^[16]
    • Sparks - Like all dragons with a high level of dragon energy, the Source Dragon of Flow has the ability to share their energy to an Elemental Master. As a Source Dragon, they can also designate an Elemental Master to act as a conduit for their dragon power.
      • Elemental Power Augmentation - By sharing their dragon energy with an Elemental Master, Flow can increase their powers.
      • Power Bestowal - By sharing their dragon energy with mortals, Flow can bestow some of their abilities to them.
        • Rheokinesis Bestowal - By allowing mortals to use their dragon energy, the Source Dragon of Flow can grant them the power to use Flow.
        • Precognition Bestowal - Conduits of the Source Dragon of Flow gain their power of precognition in the form of visions of their future.
  • Dimensiokinesis/Realm Manipulation - The Source Dragon of Flow is endowed with all the characteristic abilities and attributes of a typical member of their species, thereby conferring upon them a position of immense power and influence over the realms.
    • Dimensional Travel - The Source Dragon of Flow has the ability to travel dimensions to hide and transport themself and other living beings they take with them.

Trivia[]

• The symbol of the Source Dragon of Flow looks similar to that of Water. However, Chris "Doc" Wyatt initially stated it was not related to that Elemental Power. Instead, he stated that the element of Water is linked to the Source Dragon of Motion.^[18]
  • This was peculiar, as Nya wears the Source Dragon of Flow's symbol on the back of her Merge, Tournament of Sources, and Storm suits.
  • Glen Lakin later corrected Wyatt and confirmed that Water is from the Source Dragon of Flow.^[2]
• According to Glen Lakin, if an Elemental Power of Sand were to exist, it would be derived from the Source Dragon of Flow.^[19]
• As of Dragons Rising Season 3, Flow is the only Source Dragon whose name hasn't been mentioned outside of credits.
• The Source Dragon of Flow is one of six non-binary characters to appear in the franchise. The others are Terri, an unnamed algae farmer, Zaiden Kane, the Source Dragon of Life, and the Arc Dragon of Focus.
  • The Source Dragon of Flow is also the first genderfluid character to appear in the franchise.
    • The reason could be a play on words as ‘genderfluid’ contains the word fluid in it, in which fluids are usually associated with flowing, while the dragon is the Source Dragon of Flow.
• Flow is the only Source Dragon whose known elements were all introduced in the original series.
• According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, if the Source Dragon of Flow established a sacred reservoir and appointed a guardian to protect the timeline, the ones who would protect it would be the Elemental Masters of Time.^[20]
