Cloud Kingdom

Overview

“In the Cloud Kingdom, they believe everything they write in their scrolls is immediately what happens in real life.”
Kai to the other ninja, "Writers of Destiny"

The Cloud Kingdom was one of the realms before the Merge and is now part of the Merged Lands, It's inhabited by the Writers of Destiny. Before the Merge, the Cloud Kingdom could be accessed from Ninjago through the Blind Man's Eye, through use of the Realm Crystal, or if the inhabitants are willing to allow someone to enter.

History

History[]

Background[]

At an unknown point in time the Cloud Kingdom came into existence as one of many realms parallel to Ninjago. The monks residing in the Cloud Kingdom assumed the role of the Writers of Destiny, influencing various events across the realms while guiding rather than dictating their fates. At some point the First Spinjitzu Master would visit the realm.[1] Approximately 10,000 years before the ghost invasion, Fenwick and his brother Quanish governed the Cloud Kingdom. Fenwick held the view that the destinies of the realm's inhabitants should be controlled, whereas Quanish advocated for their freedom to make personal choices, resulting in Quanish's banishment to Ninjago. Prior to the ninja's arrival, Fenwick encountered the Preeminent and consented to changed Morro's destiny in exchange for the preservation of his own life.

Possession[]

Peak-a-Boo[]

After scaling the Wailing Alps, the ninja arrived in the Cloud Kingdom through the Blind Man's Eye, seeking the Sword of Sanctuary.

Kingdom Come[]

The ninja were greeted in the Cloud Kingdom by Fenwick, who explained the nature of the world to them and revealed Morro's intentions to them, before imprisoning them with Nimbus. He then enabled Morro and his allies to enter the Cloud Kingdom after being contacted by Bansha, before leading them to the keeping place of the sword. However, Cole's ghostly nature enabled the ninja to escape and intercept Morro, and they pursued him in an effort to recover the sword. Nimbus briefly interfered with their plans, until Nobu—a Cloud Monk not aligned with Fenwick's treachery—rewrote Fenwick's scroll of destiny to make him Nimbus' target instead. The ghosts and ninja then departed the Cloud Kingdom.

Curseworld, Part II[]

Morro and Lloyd later passed through the Cloud Kingdom during their battle over the Realm Crystal. Nobu and another monk observed this, but the older scribe warned Nobu that they couldn't interfere.

Between Seasons[]

The Cloud Kingdom was attacked by the Oni, with all of its inhabitants turned to stone.[2] However the effects reversed when the Ninja defeated the Oni in Ninjago.

Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu[]

The Kaiju Protocol[]

While trying to open a portal to the Never-Realm, Wu and P.I.X.A.L. concluded the Traveler's Tea was not strong enough. They add more leaves, and instead, opened several portals to different realm, including the Cloud Kingdom.

Between Series[]

During the Merge, the Cloud Kingdom was among the many realms that merged with Ninjago. Over time, the Cloud Kingdom integrated with a realm that was home to the Ice Dragons, who relocated to the Cloud Kingdom for refuge.[3] Ras, at some point, went to the Cloud Kingdom, where he cursed the Scroll-Worms to attack inquirers in order to ensure certain information, including the Merge and Dragon Cores, remains hidden.

Dragons Rising, Season 1[]

Writers of Destiny[]

Following a MergeQuake, the Cloud Kingdom was amalgamated with another realm inhabited by tentacled beasts, who launched an assault on the former. The Writers of Destiny were rescued from the beasts' attacks by the ninja, who sought access to the Cloud Monks' archives. However, the Scroll-Worms had been cursed, preventing the ninja from obtaining the information they needed to end the MergeQuakes. Despite the setback, the ninja successfully defended the Cloud Kingdom from the tentacled beasts and closed the MergeQuake that summoned them, preventing the merging of the Cloud Kingdom with the monsters' realm.

Mindless Beasts[]

Without relying on the Scroll-Worms, Nya eventually found information on the Temple of the Dragon Cores and was lured to a hidden portal gate by Sprite.
