Forest of Spirits

History

History[]

The Forest of Spirits used to be a vibrant and flourishing woodland located in the Wyldness. It was there that the Forbidden Five formed the Wolf Clan and established the Shadow Dojo. However, as the Forbidden Five grew more powerful, they fell into corruption and devastated the Wyldness using Shatterspin. Although the Dragon Masters managed to exile the Forbidden Five to the Nether-Space, Argus, determined to perform Shatterspin, struck the Gong of Shattering, unleashing a curse upon the Wyldness. Consequently, the Forest of Spirits was left in a state of cursed limbo as the inhabitants have perished year after year.^[2]^[3]

The Wyldness[]

Garmadon arrived in the Forest of Spirits after crossing over into the Wyldness. Although he briefly found his way out of the forest, he returned to it in search of the Shadow Dojo and the secrets that lay within. Infuriated that the dojo was empty, Garmadon angrily hurled the Mallet of Shattering into the gong, attracting the attention of the Children of the Wolf and the Lycan King.

The Lycan King[]

With Garmadon unconscious, the Children of the Wolf carried him out of the Shadow Dojo while the Lycan King pursued them. After escaping from his clutches, the Children and Garmadon escaped from the Forest of Spirits.

Masters and Students[]

Garmadon practiced Shatterspin in the Forest of Spirits and trained the Children of the Wolf in the art inside or around the forest.

Destinies[]

Having been assigned to hunt for food, Asa followed a rabbit into the Shadow Dojo, where he encountered the spirits of his ancestors and the Lycan King. Asa fainted in fright and the Lycan King brought the boy to Lupindor.

Homecoming[]

Having failed to defeat the Lycan King in Lupindor, Garmadon and Asa raced to the Shadow Dojo in a last ditch effort at securing the power needed to defeat him and Zaiden Kane. There, Asa rang the Gong of Shattering to unleash the true power of Shatterspin and sacrificed himself to destroy both Kane and the Lycan King. With the curse lifted upon the Wyldness, Garmadon returned to Ninjago through the pool by the Stone Wolves in the Forest of Spirits.

Secrets of the Wyldness[]

Cole, Zane, Bonzle, and Gandalaria flew Jiro to the Wyldness in the Forest of Spirits to get to one of a Magical storagehouse to find a way to protect Bonzle, who can create a portal to the Nether-Space and release the Forbidden Five. Jiro had to stay behind in the forest and the group narrolyw avoided the wolf warriors patrolling the area. Although after finding the protective container, Bonzle was captured by Jordana, who imprisoned Cole, Zane, and Gandalaria in an Imperium electro cage.

The Forest of Spirits[]

After breaking out of the Imperium electro cage, Cole, Zane, and Gandalaria chased after Jordana to the Cloud Kingdom, which was set to crash.

Meanwhile Lloyd and Nya were traveling by foot after Jordana conjured a storm to knock them off course.

At the Shadow Dojo, the Wolf warriors were in their positions for the Ritual of the Blood Moon to happen. Although Jordana had lost Bonzle to Arin and Riyu, Ras manage to catch up to the two and drive the Explorer back to the Shadow Dojo. Unknown to Ras or the other Wolf warriors, Kai, Sora, and Wyldfyre were disguised as wolf warriors.

Rising Ninja[]

As the Ritual began, Kai, Sora, and Wyldfyre accidentally revealed their identities after removing their Wolf Masks, initiating a battle around the Shadow Dojo. Elsewhere, Nya and Lloyd discovered Arin and Riyu and together, the four regrouped with their allies at the Shadow Dojo to join the ongoing battle.

During the ritual, Nokt was the only one member of the Forbidden Five to be released from the Nether-Space while the other four were left in but Rox had secretly projected her soul into Jordana. As the Blood Moon began to leave, Ras asked his master for assistance, who teleported the Shadow Dojo to an open field.

Dragons Rising, Season 3[]

Prior to The Missing[]

The Explorer's Club issued reports about sightings of lighting flashing from within the Forest of Spirits.^[4]

The Missing[]

After relying on the Explorer's Club's reports. Kai, Nya and Wyldfyre went to the Forest of Spirits in search of Jay. They followed the lightning, thinking that's him, only to encounter Lightning-Tides and accidentally interrupted their Lightning-Tide Community Ceremony, causing them to lock them in a cell and judge them. Wyldfyre tried to save them by disguising as a Lava-Tide, only for the Lightning-Tides to put her into the cell as well. After Nya explained them the situation, Lightning-Tides decided to release her except Kai and Wyldfyre. Thankfully, Nya saved her brother and Wyldfyre, escaping from the Lightning-Tides as they put up a wanted poster for them.

Later, a truck was driving through the Forest of Spirits when the Forbidden Five land in front of it. Rox declared they needed the supplies and had Zarkt fire a Misfortune blast, which cause the truck to fall apart. As the two citizens got out and hid, Kur jumped behind them and grabed the two to use her decay power. Rox told Kur to let them go so they can spread word that the Forbidden Five have return and no one is safe, as Drix sends a swarm of insects after them. As the Five loot the truck for supplies, Rox declares it was time to unchain Thunderfang.

Trivia

Trivia[]

The forest Zilvar discovered in his cherche for a new home for his tribe, bears a strong resemblance to the Forest of Spirits; however, it is not clear if it's the same place, especially since it was depicted as a peaceful location, which contrasts with the usual description and atmosphere of the Forest of Spirits.
