The Hollow Ones were individuals that have had their souls drained, resulting in a state of mindlessness. They can manifest as mindless ghosts from the Spectral Lands or as people from the Merged Realms who had their souls taken.
During the spectral invasions led by Thunderfang, the Forbidden Five and the Spectral Dragonians stole souls of those from the Merged Realms were exploited in a ritual aimed at transforming Thunderfang into a Source Dragon. Following Thunderfang's defeat in the Spectral Lands, all the stolen souls were returned to their hosts, while the Forbidden Five and Spectral Dragonians disappeared with Thunderfang.
History
History[]
Prior to The Hollow Ones[]
After his demise, Thunderfang ended up in the Spectral Lands, where he devised a plan to become a Source Dragon. His strategy involved amassing several souls to fuel his powers. To achieve this, he rallied an army of ghosts, which included the Forbidden Five, who became Hollow Ones after having their souls siphoned away by Thunderfang.[3] and several Dragonians that died in their corrupted state.[4] The Spectral Dragonians gained abilities similar to those of the Soul Suckers, enabling them to harvest souls on Thunderfang's behalf as they aided the Forbidden Five.[5]
The Hollow Ones[]
Kur and her platoon of Spectral Dragonians raided the village of Abracalabria one night, reaping the souls of many of the village's inhabitants and transforming them into hollow ones. When the sun rose, Kur and her minions fled, leaving the hollowed villagers behind.
The next evening, Ras, Sora, and Arin arrived in Abracalabria, where they were horrified by the sight of the hollowed villagers. As the rays of sunlight disappeared across the horizon, Kur and her forces returned to finish collecting the souls of the village's remaining inhabitants.
Human Resources[]
As Arin, Sora, and Ras try to escape Abracalabria without getting hollowed, Kur and her forces continue hollowing more inhabitants including the Sorceress. After that, they took her to the Monastery of Mysterium.
Casket of Bones[]
Drix and his forces arrived at the Land of Madness and they hollowed and collected the souls of most of the agents at the Administration.
The Screaming Earth[]
One of the Spectral Dragonians came out of the Realm Reassignment portal from the Administration and to the Community of Lee. As it hollowed one of the Lees, the rest of the bodies were hollowed as well.
Under the Light of a Mechanical Moon[]
Zarkt and the rest of his forces arrived and began hollowing the rest of the citizens in the Community of Lee and taking their souls. Nokt and his forces then arrived at the Land of Lost Things and successfully hollowed and collected the souls of the Finders (except Geo) and headed towards Imperium. And as the Ninja arrived at the City of Temples, they saw that Roby also got hollowed.
The Vault of Focus[]
As Nokt and the Spectral Dragonians arrived to Imperium, they hollowed and collected the souls of the Imperians. And while Kai and Frak went to get their Prismatic Blades upgraded, Cole stayed behind to fight Nokt. But because his anger got the better of him, Cole ended up getting hollowed, making him the only ninja to have his soul taken during the invasion of the Spectral Dragonians.
For Whom the Bell Tolls[]
As Nya arrived at the Monastery of Mysterium, she saw the Sorceress was hollowed. In the Monastery in Ninjago, Kai and Frak came back while carrying a hollowed Cole. While the Ninja went to awaken the two halves of the Arc Dragon of Focus, Alfonzo Frohicky and Geo stayed behind to take care of Cole and the Finders.
When Doves Cry[]
Nokt, Rox, Drix, and the Spectral Dragonians fought Arin and Lloyd to keep them from summoning the Arc Dragon of Focus. While they stayed behind, Kur was sent to the Cave of Bells in Djinjago and Zarkt was sent to the Cave of Bells in Mysterium to keep the rest of the Ninja from awakening the two halves.
Chaos Reigns[]
After Thunderfang's defeat, both the Forbidden Five and Spectral Dragonians were vanquished alongside him, while the remaining souls returned to the people that were hollowed out.
Appearance
Appearance[]
By having their souls taken, individuals' skin turn light blue and they are rendered into a mindless state, being incapable of anything beyond slow mumbling and a sense of despair while acting in movement similar to those of zombies. When controlled by Thunderfang, the ghost variations of Hollow Ones have red glowing eyes.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- They are similar to the Mindless Ones from Marvel.
- They behave similar to zombies.
- The Hollow Ones constantly repeat something that is familiar to them.
- Some can be used or controlled by Thunderfang, such as the Forbidden Five and Spectral Dragonians, resulting in their eyes turning red.
- It is suggested that the Hollow Ones barely remember anything of their time spent hollowed, one example being Gandalaria, who didn't recall how she ended up in the Monastery of Mysterium.[6]
- The Administration Agents were shown to recognize their hollowed state, but it's unknown whether this was because of their own experiences after their souls were taken or from witnessing other Hollow Ones. The same can be said about the Wizards in Abracalabria.[6]
