Garmadon[]
Lloyd and his father
Lloyd's father loved him very much since the day he was born. Lloyd idolized him and even dreamed of being just like his father by becoming a supervillain, but his father didn't want his son to be like him, instead, he wanted Lloyd to be his person. When Lloyd finds out he was the Green Ninja, he was sad that he had to face his father and vice versa. When Garmadon was purified of the evil in him, Lloyd was happy that he was finally reunited with his dad and the two used this as an opportunity to spend time with each other.
When dealing with the Overlord, Garmadon came to his son's aid with no hesitation telling Pythor who brought up his oath of not fighting that when he stole his son all promises were broken.
When Lloyd was about to go off to Chen's Island with his friends to find Zane, Garmadon tried to stop him but joined him on his journey. It was there that Lloyd learned some shocking details about his father's past, namely that Chen was his master and his father had signed a love letter written by his uncle which caused his mother to fall in love with him. Lloyd was surprised but persuaded his father to tell Wu and Misako about his past after he admitted his fear of losing them after he got both of them back in his life. Lloyd was also sad that his father turned into Anacondrai but the latter told him he was on his side no matter what and Lloyd was quick to stop Jay from attacking Garmadon after he mistook him for an Anacondrai warrior. Before the battle with Chen, Lloyd noticed Wu and Misako shunning Garmadon, asking if they knew about the letter as Garmadon sadly confirmed it. When fighting Chen's forces he was openly against the idea of having to banish his father to the Cursed Realm defeat Chen but relented and personally banished him to see him off though was sad at the outcome.
In "Curseworld, Part II," Lloyd was reunited with his father while traversing the Cursed Realm and attempted to free him but to no avail. Lloyd was distraught when he realized that to defeat the Preeminent he'd have to sacrifice his father who told him no matter what he'll always be a part of him. After the defeat of the Preeminent, Lloyd returned from the Cursed Realm and stated his father was in a better place. On "Day of the Departed," Lloyd and his mother pay their respects before Pythor attacked them and while fighting the Anacondrai, he realized that no matter what, Garmadon would always be there for him.
Lloyd battles against his reborn father once again
During Season 8: Sons of Garmadon, Lloyd learned that a criminal organization intended to resurrect his father but as his villainous self. This caused him to feel conflicted over seeing his father again but dealing with a threat to everyone.
When Lloyd saw his father resurrected as his villainous self, he was horrified but believed that his father was still in there deep down despite others telling him that he was gone. Lloyd left his friends and confronted his father, they fought and Garmadon showed no mercy to him, even stating he had no son.
In Season 9, Lloyd formed a resistance against him. In "Radio Free Ninjago," the two nearly came face to face again but Skylor hid his presence. It was seen in that episode that Lloyd was still haunted from his last fight with his father since it was the reason he lost his powers. Lloyd nearly lost his composure when making a broadcast but soon regained strength and personally challenged his father.
In "The Gilded Path," Lloyd encountered his father once more and was nearly killed by the Colossus. However, Lloyd pleaded to his father at not doing so and Garmadon relented, marking the first time he had shown hesitance after his revival. This reluctance allowed Lloyd to escape his grasp and stare at his father in confusion as to why he spared him.
During "Green Destiny," Lloyd confronted his father with Wu who had returned and they fought as Garmadon declared them as his enemies. Lloyd's pleas for him to come to his senses fall on deaf ears, as Garmadon has no intention of reforming. When on the brink of certain doom, Lloyd uses Garmadon's overconfidence and will to fight against him by baiting him into prolonging the battle. Lloyd soon suddenly realizes that if Garmadon was fueled by the fight then he must stop fighting to defeat him. He manages to resist his father long enough for the latter to lose his power and for Lloyd to regain his own. Showing mercy, Lloyd refused to strike Garmadon down permanently, instead insisting that the fight was over. Before going to prison, Garmadon warned Lloyd that now that he was powerless, there was nothing that could stop Ninjago from being overcome by the approaching darkness. Despite no longer trusting his father, Lloyd heeded his words about the darkness and feared the coming of the Oni.
Lloyd and Garmadon, fighting the Oni.
In "The Darkness Comes," Lloyd heeds his father's call to Kryptarium Prison and he is once again reproached by his father for his lack of belief in the incoming darkness, which makes Lloyd more alarmed. He still refuses to let him out at first but still acknowledges Garmadon as his father. He later changes his mind and frees him.
In "Into the Breach," Lloyd is frustrated by how he has to "babysit" his father but puts up with him and cordially introduced him to the ninja's sleeping room. He looked sad when seeing the picture between him and his father and despite being furious when his father destroyed it, he still couldn't throw the picture away and returned it to its place gently and stared at it once again sadly. Although Lloyd continues to mistrust his father and refuses to allow him to go armed and without him, he ultimately decides to trust his father and they work together. Lloyd saw at one point a hope that his father was still there but was frustrated by how Garmadon denied it yet perplexed when Garmadon laughed truly.
In "The Fall," Lloyd and Garmadon fight side-by-side effectively against the Omega but they are both overwhelmed by the leader of the Oni and Garmadon admonished Lloyd for being able to defeat him but faring poorly against their enemy. Lloyd shared banter with his father upon destroying the Realm Crystal until learning to their horror that the Oni will still invade. Lloyd still follows his father's commands and they successfully escape the situation, but at the cost of Cole. Lloyd is furious at his father for his lack of care for Cole's death and walks off in anger.
In "Endings," Lloyd shows concern when Garmadon gets overpowered by the Omega and drags him to safety despite the danger to himself. Lloyd also trusted Garmadon to help them in conjuring the Tornado of Creation, stating that while Garmadon may not be a ninja, he is still as much of a part of Ninjago's history as the rest of them.
In "Crystastrophe," Lloyd and Wu track down newspaper clippings, and stumble upon Garmadon.
In "Christofern," Garmadon tells his tale of what he had been doing in the meantime, and Lloyd expresses a great deal of frustration with the way Master Wu was so calm and how his dad handled the situation. In the end, Lloyd and Wu see Garmadon's Oni Form.
In "A Lesson in Anger," Garmadon tries to teach Lloyd how to do the Oni Form in the Samurai X Cave, and comes across difficulty. He criticizes Lloyd's inability to do the Oni form, and Lloyd's repressed Destruction leaves him, much to his surprise. Garmadon then gets frustrated with Lloyd for repressing his Oni self. P.I.X.A.L. then enters the room and interrupts the lesson with good news, and ends the episode there.
In "Brave But Foolish," Lloyd once again is frustrated with his father for being negative, With Lloyd and Garmadon aboard the Destiny's Bounty try to move the Crystal Island from the city, and Wu confronts the Crystal King. Lloyd and Garmadon fight Dragonides on the Destiny's Bounty.
In "Distress Calls," Lloyd expresses his reason for not wanting to embrace his Oni heritage, due to being his biggest fear; becoming like his father. He lashes out at his father for not giving him the care he required at childhood such as his birthdays, abandonment. He even accused Garmadon for lacking compassion for others due to being an Oni. When Garmadon spared the infected Serpentine, Lloyd starts to regret what he said beforehand about compassion.
In "Roots," Lloyd was so heartbroken by his father's apparent murder that he unlocked his Oni Form and ragefully attacked the Overlord. He later discovered Garmadon deceived him and was appalled. During the monastery rebuild, Garmadon handed Lloyd a floorboard, which he appreciated, slowly regaining his respect for him.
Misako[]
Lloyd hugging his mother
Misako is Lloyd's mother. They care a lot about each other throughout the series. Lloyd did not know his mother when he was young but in Season 2, when he was reunited with Misako he was initially hostile towards her for her supposed abandoning of him. But after finding out her reason was to protect him and save his father, he ultimately forgave her and the two became closer in future seasons.
In Season 5, when Lloyd was possessed by Morro, Misako was desperate to get her son back stating she wasn't going to lose him just as she lost her husband. After Lloyd was freed of his possession, Misako was happy to have her son back and consoled him after the defeat of the Preeminent which led to his father's demise.
While fighting Nadakhan, Lloyd was sad at the thought of his mother being one of the Djinn's victims. On the Day of the Departed, Lloyd and his mother paid their respect to Garmadon and Lloyd defended his mother from Pythor when he attacked them.
During Season 8: Sons of Garmadon, Lloyd mentioned his mother going off on her own to find Wu but he didn't know where she was and seemed worried for her.
They were reunited in "Dread on Arrival" and Lloyd discovered Misako had found Wu before she was captured by the Sons of Garmadon. He was very angry at seeing her situation and wanted her released before the ritual took place.
Afterwards, in Big Trouble, Little Ninjago, Lloyd confronted Garmadon at Kryptarium Prison. Garmadon defeated Lloyd, weakening him, and temporarily making him lose control of his powers.
In "Endings", Lloyd asks his mother to go inside the monastery right before the battle with the Oni.Despite her concern, she listened, but not before expressing her love for him. After the defeat of the Oni, the two celebrate the peace alongside everyone else present.
In "Shintaro",Lloyd tells his mother about his uncle's depressed state and she gets him to join the ninja on their trip to the Shintaro palace.
In "The Island", Lloyd shows immense loyalty and devotion to Wu and Misako, showing great determination do save them from the keepers.after finding them, he is happily embraced by his mother, much to his relief. He later expressed his concern about the real Wojira to Wu and Misako.
The two would reunite again in "Crystalized", when Wu assembled the Resistance, and worked together against the Overlord and his dark forces and emerged victorious in the conflict.
Wu[]
Lloyd and his uncle Wu
Wu is Lloyd's paternal uncle and Master. Lloyd and the other ninja care about Master Wu greatly and are glad to have him as their teacher. Despite their initial friction due to Lloyd wanting to follow on his father's footsteps and due to him allying himself with the Serpentine, Wu never doubted of the goodness in his nephew's heart and always tried to convince him to come to his side. After Lloyd was betrayed and abandoned by Pythor, Wu was the one to extend a hand to him and bring him to the side of good. Since then he had been looking after Lloyd during the course of his remaining childhood, and Lloyd came to love and respect Wu very much, both as his uncle and Master.
During Season 7, Lloyd and his friends came to Wu's aid when he fought Acronix and was distraught as Wu was wounded by the villain. In "Scavengers," Lloyd was sad that he might have failed his uncle when he needed help fighting Acronix, and Lloyd wanted to make sure he doesn't fail him again, so he looked after him when he was injured and continued to work harder in his training to become a master. Seeing his nephew tormenting himself with the guilt for not being there when he was hurt, Wu reassured him that the one to blame for his situation was himself, as he should have asked for help. Later on, after Wu is taken hostage by the Time Twins, Lloyd infiltrated the their base and he went out of his way to save the captive Wu but lost him to the Vermillion. When Wu was lost in time with the Time Twins, the ninja made Lloyd their master and he said his first order as their master was to get rid of the time blade and find out where Wu was.
During Season 8, he was unknowingly reunited with his uncle when he came back as a baby. Lloyd was unaware of this until Harumi betrayed him and revealed this fact to him, and he couldn't believe his uncle was the infant the whole time. After he was reunited with his friends, Lloyd spent more time with Wu and wondered when he would return to normal. When Garmadon attacked the city, Lloyd protected his infant uncle from harm and refused to let Harumi take him, by passing him to the other Ninja.
In the Season 8 finale, Lloyd was under the impression that his uncle was dead and unaware he was in another realm. In "Firstbourne," Lloyd was still sad at losing his uncle and was unable to focus on his training. However, he learned that he had been instead teleported to somewhere after he and the others found a piece of a leaf for Traveler's Tea. During "Iron & Stone," Lloyd was informed that his uncle was sent to the Realm of Oni and Dragons.
Lloyd and Wu, after ending Garmadon's reign.
In "Green Destiny," Lloyd was reunited with his uncle and was amazed that he is almost back to normal and surprised at his new armor. Wu also assured Lloyd that while he may not have power, he would still fight beside him against Garmadon, making Lloyd happy. Wu helped his student in fighting his father before he was forced out of the fight. Wu was later happy to see Lloyd has regained his powers and defeated Garmadon in battle. In the end, Lloyd was happy that his uncle had returned to normal and they celebrated saving the city. Wu also acknowledged Lloyd as a Master and gave him some advice about the perfection of the world and how they mustn't give up before discussing an impending danger.
During Season 11, Wu grew frustated with Lloyd and the other Ninja after they became complacent and lazy because of the peace after they defeated the Oni, so he forced them to train by putting them in very uncomfortable situations and sent them to search for something to do outside the monastery. After Zane was banished to the Never-Realm, he briefly fought his uncle to claim the Scrolls of Forbidden Spinjitzu to reach him. It is unknown what his reaction was to Lloyd returning, but it appears to be reasonable.
During Season 13, Lloyd tried to get Wu out of his funk of feeling his age before they were invited to Shintaro, where during their time battling Vangelis, which caused Wu to start to become renewed.
When the Ninja broke Aspheera out of Kryptarium to free Nya from the Endless Sea, Wu was completely against it that he held no pity on them when they were incarcerated, until their escape and search for the Crystal King that led them to Garmadon and Wu telling Lloyd to unlock his Oni Form.
When Wu started to become concerned about a coalescence, he had Lloyd gather many scrolls about it before hoping he does a better job as master before the coalescence occurred, merging all the realms, and Wu ended up and remains missing.
Years later, Lloyd attempted to copy Wu's ways in teaching the next generation of ninja. He even tried to mimic his uncle's method for keeping time, however with terrible results. During the resulting chaos of their attempt to evade Imperium with the released dragons, Lloyd looked back on Wu's advice about finding peace within himself despite the chaos outside, something that allowed him to regain calmness and find a way to solve the situation.
In Dragons Rising: Season 2, Lloyd was shown to meditate like his uncle on a few occasions, though he would do it in front of a picture of Wu, implying Lloyd misses his master and is still sad about losing him to the Merge. He also wished he could seek Wu's guidance on a few occasions. In "Beyond the Phantasm Cave", the trial of fear revealed that Lloyd was afraid of failing Wu, suggesting that Lloyd has indeed been trying to live up to his uncle's expectations ever since the Merge, causing his own insecurities about making him proud to grow even more. He also had his doubts about being the ninja's master during the Tournament of the Sources and carrying on the legacy of his master. When Arin disclosed to Lloyd that Wu caused the merge, Lloyd was in shock and in disbelief.
In Dragons Rising: Season 3, Lloyd continued to disbelief that Wu's caused the Merge and claimed to Arin he believes Wu had a good reason. By the time he reunites with Arin again after the latter and Sora left Ras, Lloyd reveals to him that he had a hard time to believe his uncle would cause the Merge, even more without knowing why he did it, and had come to terms about Master Wu's apparent passing. He then learns from Arin that is likely that Master Wu may still be alive, as he had confirmation that he did not pass through the Spectral Lands.
First Spinjitzu Master[]
- “You're the First Spinjitzu Master.”
- “No, no, please—no kneeling. You have done so much for Ninjago. If anyone should kneel, it should be I.”
— Lloyd and the First Spinjitzu Master, "Endings"
Lloyd with his grandfather, the First Spinjitzu Master.
The First Spinjitzu Master is Lloyd's grandfather, who died long before he was born. Though he never met him, Lloyd respected him for his great skill. During Season 8, he discovered that he was partially Oni and Dragon because of him.
In Season 10, after Lloyd, the ninja, his father, and uncle formed the Tornado of Creation to defeat the Oni, he appeared in an unknown place and finally met his grandfather. Lloyd knelt before him in respect and awe, to which the First Spinjitzu Master helped him to his feet and said there was no need for kneeling. The Master was very grateful to Lloyd for helping to defeat the Oni, and for all that he's done for the world he created. He gave Lloyd the choice to either return to Ninjago and forget their meeting ever happened, or go with him to somewhere he will be happy. The two appeared to nearly touch hands, but then Lloyd awoke in Ninjago.
Love Interest
Love Interest[]
Harumi (formerly)[]
Lloyd with Harumi
Lloyd developed an interest in Princess Harumi in Season 8. When he first saw her, Lloyd was amazed by her appearance which earned him teasing from his teammates to his dismay. Later on, he got acquainted with her and they bonded to the extent where Lloyd could call her "Rumi" instead of "princess". They also saw they had similar backgrounds and having a destiny they didn't want to be laid out for them.
Harumi holding Lloyd’s arm in the Bounty
The two also stood next to each other when they were in the same room, and often made physical contact (Lloyd was often seen with his arm around Harumi, and Harumi was often seen holding onto Lloyd's arm). The two were also often seen smiling more when in each other's presence.
In "Dead Man's Squall," they were talking about their parents on the Bounty, and they told each other that they weren't alone and that they would always be there for the other. They had almost kissed in this episode before Lloyd made an excuse and left. Later in the episode, they helped save each other.
After he realized she is the Quiet One, he felt betrayed as she played on his emotions by deriding him for not being a proper savior, as well as telling him that his uncle was the infant the ninja have. Harumi fought Lloyd and stated in the fight that she wanted to resurrect Lloyd's father so she could watch Garmadon destroy him.
Harumi mocks a heartbroken Lloyd.
In "Dread on Arrival," she had him imprisoned as well as his abducted mother. After Lloyd told her that their conflict was between them, she coldly told him there was never anything between them, leaving him heartbroken. Harumi further threw hurtful words at Lloyd as she gloated over his helpless predicament, as he was shocked by her true persona. After the ninja came to his rescue and interrupted the ceremony, Lloyd watched as Harumi and her followers were arrested. He felt guilty that the events happened because he trusted Harumi and swore not to put too much trust in anyone again.
Lloyd pays her back for her betrayal
As Harumi was put in the back of a transport van, Lloyd stopped to speak with her. She tried to manipulate Lloyd again, telling him that he was right that this wasn't her. Enlightened by her betrayal, he immediately saw through the lie, and told her to stop, using her previous words against her. Enraged, she tried to charge at him, but he coldly closed the doors on her, to her shock. Lloyd then watched as she was driven away with a serious look on his face.
They met again when Garmadon attacked the city, she confronted him and he told her actions were no different from the Great Devourer attack but she ignored him and chased him as he escaped with Wu. Unlike before, she offered him a chance to join her organization but he refused her offer and the two fought for a while although Lloyd seemed reluctant to hit her and instead twisted her arms behind her back until he managed to get away, much to her fury. Harumi held Lloyd by the throat and made him watch as the ninja were "killed" by the Colossus but this time she didn't try to kill him (even though she had the chance). Instead, she put him down on the top of the tram carefully, which suggests that she was satisfied with him living with the despair of losing those close to him, as she had felt happened to her when her parents passed. However, she was angry by his escape and screamed in fury.
In "Firstbourne," when she reported to Garmadon that Lloyd still hadn't been caught, she was opposed to his plan to use Colossus to draw him out and suggested sending Mr. E instead.
During "Radio Free Ninjago," when Lloyd made his speech to Ninjago of rebelling, Harumi was angry to see him again and tried using a recording of his loss against his father to stop him. Her attempts had nearly succeeded but he overcame it and continued speaking. She and Killow barged in, only to find them gone. She was furious at his escape but realized the location of their base after seeing garbage trucks drive away.
During "How to Build a Dragon," Harumi was nearly killed by Garmadon but saved herself by revealing the location of Lloyd and the resistance.
In "The Gilded Path," Lloyd faced her again and he was shocked to see Harumi before she overwhelmed him in battle but he was saved by his friends and escaped her grasp.
In "Two Lies, One Truth" they met him again while she was confident in defeating him, she was dismayed to see he had tricked her and she ended up captured by Lloyd and the rest of the resistance.
During "Saving Faith," Lloyd witnessed her trying to escape the Colossus and they shared a gaze at each other. Lloyd looked on in pity and faintly said her name as the building she was on collapsed, killing her.
In "Stop, Drop and Side Scroll", it's revealed that Lloyd harbored guilt for not being able to save Harumi from her death, as her avatar stated.
Lloyd said that "the real Harumi would've remembered" their first time alone together where they gave food to the poor unlike Avatar Harumi, which shows that he realized that Avatar Harumi was a fake, as she lacked the intimate memories no one else would have known about.
However in "The Council of the Crystal King" when Lloyd disguised himself as the Mechanic to infiltrate the council to learn their plans, he was almost immediately exposed and beaten down by Pythor, Aspheera, Mister F, and Vangelis. As he recovered, he became horrified and shocked when the Kabuki Masked person is revealed to be the real Harumi before he blacks out.
During their discussion, Lloyd revealed that in spite of her apparently never truly having feelings for him, he did have genuine feelings for Harumi. He even explained that he searched for Harumi following the defeat of the Colossus, saying that he searched for her through the rubble with his bare hands, which she did not believe. He later tried to reason with Harumi, saying he knew Harumi wouldn't want any innocent people get hurt.
After Harumi seemingly killed his friends, he felt angry with her, thus refusing to join her and her council. He even said that he would make her pay for her actions. Despite this, Lloyd still cared very much about her. He begged Harumi to do the right thing and join the right side on multiple occasions. He even noticed her doubt and hesitation in some of her decisions, thus continuing to see the good inside of her, in spite of being enemies.
Lloyd and Harumi in "Roots"
Lloyd and Harumi's relationship would change forever in "Dragon Form." Upon learning that the Overlord was the one who corrupted the Great Devourer, Harumi realized that Lloyd and the ninja were never the ones to blame for her parents' death. Harumi joined Garmadon and Lloyd in the fight against the Overlord and, although not shown, Lloyd was happy to see the goodness inside Harumi finally shine through.
Lloyd and Harumi waving at each other in the monastery
Lloyd and Harumi officially, but indirectly, reconcile in "Roots." When the Golden Ultra Dragon appeared to fight the Overlord, Lloyd instructed Harumi to seek cover. Harumi listened to Lloyd and eventually came out and asked if Lloyd is okay after the battle. With the Crystal Temple collapsing, Lloyd indirectly made up for failing to find Harumi after her death in "Saving Faith" by bringing her aboard the Golden Ultra Dragon and flying her to safety with him and Garmadon. Lloyd also explained that Harumi switched sides during the battle to the other ninja. Lloyd and Harumi's repaired relationship was shown while the ninja built the Monastery as Harumi smiled at Lloyd who also smiled back.

Arin[]
- “I lost my parents in the Merge. I guess I've been trying to find a new family ever since.”
- “And you have, Arin. You, Sora, Riyu, and Wyldfyre. One thing I know about family is that it's just like being a ninja. There's always room to grow.”
— Arin and Lloyd, "The Battle of the Second Monastery"
Lloyd comforting Arin
Arin was one of Lloyd's first two students, with the latter also being his idol. They first met during the Merge, when Arin was caught in the storm caused by it and Lloyd came to his rescue before bringing him to safety, promising him he'll find his parents. When the ninja were presumed lost afterward, Arin found Lloyd's mask, which he started to wear. They reunite, several years later, when the latter rescues him and Sora from the Claws of Imperium, and was amazed how he thought Arin was a ninja, due to him wearing his old mask and knew Spinjitzu. Arin believed his return was fate and that he was meant to train him and Sora. Thought doubtful at first, Lloyd was encouraged and complimented by the Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons. After their mission in Imperium, Arin started to doubt his place in the team as Lloyd's fellow ninja were coming back before Lloyd cheered him up and told him they were his new family, even giving him his old mask back. While searching for the Pink Dragon Core, Lloyd attempted to train Arin on how to control the latter's Object Spinjitzu after being intrigued by it when he used it the first time against Dorama's puppet. Lloyd continued to instruct Arin on the ninja's ways and give him encouragement to help ease his concerns and insecurities.
In the beginning of Season 2, their relationship is still the same and Lloyd continued to teach Arin and comfort him. In "The Spell at the Waterfall", Lloyd showed concern when Arin was at risk of being demoted to a First Fang Ninja, he even offered to train his student, though the latter declined. In the next episode, Lloyd relayed some of Wu's teachings to Arin and reminded him of his potential. Unfortunately, Arin failed in a training exercise, resulting in his demotion and Lloyd was sympathetic to his student. In "The Shape of Motion", Lloyd was worried when Arin and Sora were delayed in their stealth mission. Throughout the Tournament of the Sources, Lloyd entrusted Arin to be the detective in the mystery of the Matriarch's death and even sneak in to the Wolf Clan's residence to get more information. However the latter backfired due to Ras' manipulation and Arin started doubting Lloyd. In "Elements of Betrayal", Lloyd realized Ras' influence on Arin and was appalled when the latter betrayed him and chose to go after Ras. Lloyd was overall very sad at the loss of his student.
In "Chaos Unchained" Lloyd's attempt to defend his uncle's actions caused Arin to be further angry with Lloyd due to Arin believing the Merge caused his parents' death. But even though he was displeased with Lloyd trying to defend Wu he ultimately decided to go back with the Ninja to help them get to the First Land so they can stop the Forbidden Five from unleashing Thunderfang, during the battle in the First Land with the Forbidden Five, Lloyd tells Arin to take the two Prismatic Blades he has back to the Monastery so the Five can't get them, but when he sees Ras is in danger from Nokt, Arin chose to save him rather than return to the Monastery, leaving Lloyd distraught at this decision. During "The Shatter Dragon", Because of Arin failing to keep the Blades away from the Five, Thunderfang is unleashed and during the battle against him, Lloyd's soul is absorbed with Arin doing what he can to prevent that from happening, Arin seeing Lloyd's body falling rushed ahead to catch him and upon doing so is upset that his former Master wasn't waking up, Arin at the end of the battle then used the elixir he got from the Spectral Lands to defeat Thunderfang, freeing the souls of Lloyd and everyone that Thunderfang absorbed. After Lloyd reawakens, Arin runs over to check on him, happy he is alive, but he alongside Sora chose to go with Ras still in order to reverse the Merge to bring his parents back, though Lloyd let's them go with Ras because Arin and Sora are free to make their own decisions, he laments that he is still worried about them and hopes they will be okay with Ras.
Upon learning from Jay that Arin's parents were still alive and had been relocated by the Administration, Lloyd makes his top priority to find them, so that he could bring Arin and Sora back. This led to a reunion with his students who, by chance, had found themselves in the Land of Lee and helped the situation, with Arin saving Lloyd and helping him and the Ninja manage the situation, while Sora convinced Lee to stop. After escaping from the Land of Lee when the Spectral Dragonians appeared and drained everyone else's souls, Lloyd is able to have a proper conversation with Arin, where the two are able to make amends, with Lloyd apologizing for not putting more urgency over finding his parents. When Arin showed regret over abandoning the Ninja and letting Ras influence him, Lloyd was quick to reassure him.
With Thunderfang's threat becoming even greater as he started to absorb souls in order to get enough power to become a Source Dragon, the Ninja split in order to summon the Arc Dragon of Focus, with Lloyd and Arin going to the Spectral Lands to summon the dragon. While heading to the Well of the Lost, Arin confesses to Lloyd that he is planning to retire from being a Ninja, with the latter then trying to convince him otherwise. After summoning the Arc Dragon of Focus and the two commanding them against Thunderfang, Lloyd realized that his desire to keep Arin on the team was preventing him from focusing on the battle, so he let Arin take the lead, which allowed them to defeat the Dragon of Chaos. After that, Lloyd told Arin that he shouldn't try to force him to stay on the team and that he would respect his decision to leave. However, to his luck, Arin was able to regain his confidence after being inspired by Lloyd's trust on him and their victory over Thunderfang. When they found themselves in an unknown realm with no way back, after trying to return to the monastery, Arin shows concern over what to do, but Lloyd reassures him that they will find a way to return.
Sora[]
- “I'm surprised she doesn't want to talk to the greatest elemental master in the merged lands. Remember when you used to insist you didn't have an elemental power?”
- “Feels like a million years ago. I know you had your doubts about being our master, but I couldn't have done this without you, Lloyd. You and Arin inspire me.”
— Lloyd and Sora after the latter was crowned the winner of Tournament of the Sources., "Elements of Betrayal"
Lloyd and Sora
Sora is one of Lloyd's first two students. While she kept doubting at having the Power of Technology as she first got it from Riyu, Lloyd kept trying to tell her she has it and that Riyu "soups" it up. During their mission in Imperium to disable the Photacs, an old invention of hers, Lloyd started to question Sora's loyalty upon discovering she had tuned several more, until she turned up with a dragon that was her namesake and revealed she built a component to disassemble them, he started to trust her again. Lloyd was proud when Sora achieved her True Potential after Beatrix nearly sent him and Arin in a MergeQuake rift.
Their relationship continued to solidify, as shown during the Tournament of the Sources, Lloyd was the ninja's master served as a solid teacher to Sora. He would have her (along with the other ninja) get up and start warming up. He also helped taught her the fundamentals of Spinjitzu. His instructions were most valuable. In "The Final Game”, he gives her some advice on how to leverage the elementals powers she has and reminds her of her capabilities. His advice would prove crucial during her match with Nokt. In "Elements of Betrayal", Lloyd praises Sora for being the rightful winner of the tournament and even comforts her about Arin, promising they will find him. Although, they realized Arin might not want to return to them.
In the beginning of Season 3, Lloyd and Sora searched for Arin across the Merged Lands. Both were glad when Arin decided to join them against Thunderfang, even though it was temporary. After the Chaos Dragon's defeat, Sora regretfully leaves her master to follow Arin. Though Lloyd let's them go with Ras because Arin and Sora are free to make their own decisions, he laments that he is still worried about them and hopes they will be okay with Ras.
They reunited during the Spectral invasions and Lloyd proudly notes that he and Sora have more in common than he realized.
Frak[]
Lloyd and Frak
Frak is Lloyd's third student. They first met at the Tournament of the Sources after the former prevented Arin and Riyu from being arrested by the Security Bots before Frak expressed how he is also a fan of the ninja. It is unknown how Lloyd reacted to Frak being in the Wolf Clan, nor how he learnt the latter was kicked out for losing to Sora. When Frak insisted on leading the Elemental Masters to hold back Cinder and the Wolf Mask Warriors, Lloyd expressed his appreciation. After Arin's betrayal and attempt to rescue Ras from the Forbidden Five, Lloyd recruited Frak to be his next student.[1]
Unlike with Arin and Sora, whose skills he trained from scratch, Lloyd trained Frak (who already had fighting skills) into unlearning the bad habits he got from Ras' mentorship and relying on more sources of strength besides anger. Later on, Lloyd recruited Frak into joining him, Sora, Zane, Riyu and Zanth in their search for Arin. Despite Frak's desperate attempts to prove himself resulting in some setbacks, Lloyd has showed patience towards him, understanding he only needed time to settle in with the team.
Friends
Friends[]
Brad Tudabone[]
- “It worked, Lloyd! You did it!”
- “No, we did it.”
— Brad and Lloyd, "Double Trouble"
Brad talking to Lloyd
Brad was a good friend of Lloyd's when he attended Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys. Their friendship started rough, due to Brad putting fire ants in Lloyd's bed. They became friends when Brad claimed to have been just showing Lloyd how things work, and Brad began teaching Lloyd "the art of revenge" in secret.
In Season 2 in "Double Trouble," Brad, along with his classmates, tried to turn Lloyd evil again. Their plan failed when Lloyd revealed Brad's true nature, which resulted in Brad's confession of his support for the ninja as they had saved him when the evil ninja had captured him. The other kids soon followed suit, joining Lloyd's side. He then decided to help Lloyd fight the evil ninja.
Gene[]
Gene and Lloyd
Not much is known about the relationship between Gene and Lloyd except they were classmates at Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys.
In "Double Trouble", Gene and his classmates came up with the idea to try and turn Lloyd back into a villain. They failed when Brad released Lloyd after expressing his eagerness to return the kindness the ninja showed him. Although reluctant, he helped Lloyd in sewing the gis and fighting the ninja clones.
Lloyd holds some respect for Gene, as he was elated upon seeing that Gene's theory was correct during the fight.
Kai[]
Lloyd and Kai
Kai and Lloyd are best and close friends throughout the series, even if though Kai was jealous that Lloyd was picked as the Green Ninja instead of him. Luckily, this did not hinder their friendship. Kai acts as a brother-figure to Lloyd as he looks out for the latter whenever he has doubts. The two have a strong connection that makes them like a family. Out of all the ninja, Kai is closer to him.
When Lloyd was still a kid until he became older, out all of the ninja, he appeared to look up to Kai the most, as seen with his concern for Kai's safety and during his training sections and missions.
In Season 4, Lloyd tried to reenlist Kai as a ninja and told him that he shouldn't dwell on not being a ninja. He was also worried when Kai supposedly turned on him but was relieved it was an act meant to deceive Chen into drop his guard and give the red Ninja a chance to get the Staff of Elements. Despite temporarily being taken over by his own jealousy towards Lloyd, Kai was able to overcome it and destroy the staff, releasing everyone's elements. When Lloyd's father was banished to the Cursed Realm to defeat Chen, Kai made a promise to look after Lloyd when he was sad about the loss of his father.
In Season 5, after Lloyd was possessed by Morro, Kai was the most determined out of all the ninja to get his best friend back, even going far as to give up the Realm Crystal and leaped into the water (despite his fear and inability to swim) to save Lloyd from drowning. When Kai was in trouble when he was facing Morro for the possession of the Sword of Santuary, Lloyd was able to regain control temporarily and give Kai time to escape with the sword. After Lloyd was freed from Morro's possession, Kai was relieved to have his friend back and comforted Lloyd when he was upset about dropping his guard by telling them they would defeat any threat. Kai's words proved true as the ninja were able to save the city of Stiix and defeat the Preeminent and her army of ghosts.
In Season 7, he and the other ninja decided to make Lloyd their master after Wu was lost in time with the Time Twins.
In the Season 8 finale, Lloyd was devastated and depressed that his best friend seemingly died, but was unaware that Kai actually was in another realm.
In "Firstbourne," Lloyd was still sad at losing his friend and was unable to focus on his training. However, he learned that he had been instead teleported to somewhere after he and the others found a piece of a leaf for Traveler's Tea.
During "Iron & Stone," Lloyd was informed that his friend had been sent to the Realm of Oni and Dragons.
In "Green Destiny," Lloyd was reunited with his friend and hugged after he had returned. Lloyd then gladly fought off the Sons of Garmadon with his aid. Kai was happy to see Lloyd defeat his father and regain his powers as a result.
In season 11, after Kai lost his powers to Aspheera and decided to step down from the fight for feeling useless, Lloyd tried to cheer him up and motivate him to keep on fighting, but with no success. Fortunately, Kai was able to come around on his decision. When Kai was able to regain his fire after reigniting the fishermen's hearth, Lloyd was overjoyed for his friend.
After the Merge occurred and separated the Ninja, Kai was the first one with whom Lloyd was able to reunite with, when the former returned to the monastery. Lloyd dove head first to attack, only to stand down when he saw it was Kai, relieving him. The two were happy to see each other and hugged. After shutting a MergeQuake rift, Lloyd sent Kai to map out the merged realms and find the others. Throughout the next years, they stayed in touch as Kai would send Lloyd messages about his progress, along with maps and information of the new Merged Lands, until they reunite at the Land of Madness (along with Nya), and the latter assumed he was babysitting Arin and Sora, unaware that they were his students.
Jay[]
Lloyd and Jay
Jay and Lloyd were good friends throughout the series. They don't interact much, but as the series goes on, they grow closer and show that they really care about each other. Despite Lloyd finding Jay annoying from time to time, Lloyd trust Jay greatly. In Season 5, when Lloyd was possessed by Morro, Jay, and others would have done anything to rescue him from Morro's clutches. At the end of Season 7, Jay was the first ninja to decide Lloyd should be their master after Wu was lost in time with the Time Twins. Although in Day of the Departed, Lloyd was annoyed that Jay was riding the Ultra Sonic Raider Jet.
In "Game of Masks", it was shown that Lloyd trusted Jay enough to accuse Harumi of being the Quiet One, as Harumi knew of Lloyd's Oni heritage, which she could only know if Jay had told her or if she was the Quiet One.
In the Season 8 finale, Lloyd was under the impression that his friend was dead and unaware he was in another realm.
In "Green Destiny," Lloyd was reunited with his friend and gladly fought off the Sons of Garmadon with his aid. Jay was happy to see Lloyd defeated his father and regained his powers as a result.
In "The Council of the Crystal King", Lloyd was surprised that Jay was correct the N line had a secret door which lead to a high-tech chamber.
In "Beyond Madness", Lloyd appeared to have a low opinion on Jay, as he mentioned Jay as the worst ninja student, when he tried to reassure Arin that he is not the worst student, recalling how Jay destroyed the South wing when he trained in there.
Lloyd reunited with Jay after The Merge.
In "Inside the Maze," Lloyd was surprised to see Jay fighting on Ras' team. After hearing Jay tell Nya that he had no idea who she was. Lloyd reminded the team that none of them knew what happened to Jay after he disappeared during the Merge. Lloyd realized they had very little choice so he could do nothing as he watched Jay attack Nya and even used a Wolf Mask to shatter his goodness. After Nya won her match with Jay, Lloyd pointed out to Sora that while they won the match they ultimately lost Jay to evil. Lloyd was also horrified when Jay expressed hatred to Nya after losing to her.
In "United We Fall", Lloyd and the others went to get Jay back only for Ras to tell them that he already sent Jay away for failing to win. Lloyd promised Nya they will find Jay after the Tournament and help her search for Jay.
In "The Shatter Dragon" Lloyd managed to reunite with Jay during the battle with Thunderfang and enlist his help to find Arin's parents after learning that they were alive and Jay knew where they were.
After he was brought back to the Monastery and stayed there for a while it became apparent that due to Jay's shattered soul, he was being very rude to Lloyd and the others in the Monastery, earning Lloyd's annoyance. However saying that he trusts Jay given their history, but Lloyd would later walk back on this statement and say he didn't fully trust him due to him shattering his goodness. Lloyd was also annoyed that Jay easily trusted the Administration Agents because they were wearing business suits after losing his memory (forgetting that an amnesiac Zane did a similar thing with Vex, Wu got tricked by Aspheera, Kai got tricked by the Serpentine Generals, Cole got tricked by Yang, Nya was tricked by Kalmaar, and Lloyd himself even fell for both Pythor's and Harumi's manipulations). He also pointed out to his amnesiac friend that he is the worst at guessing games when he reassigned Arin’s parents to the Land of Lee. Lloyd even criticized Jay's plan of getting captured and breaking out which all of Jay's plan. It is also implied Lloyd had no intention to keep his word on doubling what his client (unknown to him was Zeatrix) was paying Jay and just hoped Jay's memory will come back on it own. Since Lloyd wasn't concern when Wyldfyre tilted the Temple Bountyand Jay hit his head.
Cole[]
Lloyd and Cole
Cole and Lloyd are good friends throughout the series. Whenever Lloyd feels down, Cole and the other ninja support Lloyd. Throughout the series, they grow closer and show that they really care about each other. When Lloyd was possessed by Morro, Cole and the others would have done anything to get their friend back from Morro's clutches. On the Day of the Departed, Lloyd and the other ninja were happy to see that Cole had become a human again.
At the end of Season 7, Cole and the other ninja decided to make Lloyd their master after Wu was lost in time with Time Twins.
In the Season 8 finale, Lloyd was under the impression that his friend was dead and was unaware he was in another realm.
In "Green Destiny," Lloyd was reunited with his friend and hugged after he returned. Lloyd gladly fought off the Sons of Garmadon with Cole's aid. Cole was happy to see Lloyd defeated his father and regained his powers as a result.
During "The Fall," Lloyd was devastated to learn Cole had been consumed by the darkness and scolds his father for his disregard of Cole's fate while labeling Cole as part of his family. However, he was relieved when the earth ninja return to help hold off the Oni.
Zane[]
Lloyd and Zane
Zane and Lloyd have been good friends throughout the series. Lloyd and the other ninja have shown to really care about Zane, as they missed him when he sacrificed himself to defeat the Overlord.
In Season 4, when the team broke up Lloyd attempted to bring them back together by enlisting a new member which was met with a negative response. However, this stopped when they found out Zane was still alive, they decided to go searching for him. Lloyd stated the decision was to find a member of his family to Garmadon who tried to stop him from going to Chen's Island, another show of his care for Zane. After reuniting with Zane, Lloyd was happy to see his friend telling him it was good to have him back on the team.
In return, Zane also cares about Lloyd, as when Lloyd was possessed by Morro in the fifth season, Zane and the other ninja did everything they could to rescue him from Morro. When Lloyd was released from Morro's grasp, they were elated to have their friend back and fought against the ghosts emerging victorious.
In the Season 8 finale, Lloyd was under the impression that his friend was dead and unaware he was in another realm.
In "Green Destiny," Lloyd was reunited with his friend and gladly fought off the Sons of Garmadon with his aid. Zane was later happy to see Lloyd defeated his father and regained his powers as a result.
In “The Message,” Lloyd discovered Zane's message and was saddened to hear that he was giving up hope. The Green Ninja decided to go find Zane even more now that he knows that he was getting closer.
In "My Enemy, My Friend," when Lloyd was brought before the Ice Emperor, he was shocked to discover that the Ice Emperor, who was responsible for the attack on the Formlings, was really Zane.
In "A Fragile Hope," Lloyd tries to get Zane to remember who he is, unaware that his memories were erased and was shocked to hear that he was in the realm for decades, so Zane doesn't remember him. However, Zane did appear interested in Lloyd's stories and had the latter imprisoned instead of executed as Vex desired. Lloyd was attacked by him when he attempted to take the staff from him. He then ordered Vex to have him thrown in the dungeon. Despite this, Lloyd had faith that he could get through to him and he will see Vex for the liar he is.
In "Awakenings," the two confront each other again with Lloyd determined to reach Zane. He stopped Akita from trying to kill Zane before they fight. Despite a lengthy battle, Lloyd tried many times to remind Zane of who he was until he was overpowered. Zane also hesitated in finishing off Lloyd after the latter pleaded to him. When Vex attempts to kill Lloyd, Zane recovers his memories and saves Lloyd who is happy to see him back while Zane thanked him for not giving up on him.
Several years after the Merge, Lloyd and Zane manage to reunite in Imperium before they work to get the captured dragons out.
Nya[]
Lloyd and Nya
Nya and Lloyd are good friends throughout the series. There wasn't much interaction between them in the first few seasons, but they did care for each other.
In Season 5, when Lloyd was possessed by Morro, Nya wanted to help save Lloyd from Morro's possession which caused her to train harder in becoming the Water Ninja. Due to his possession, Lloyd had not seen Nya become the Water Ninja, but when Lloyd was freed he was happy to see her as the new addition to the team. Nya was also relieved that Lloyd was freed from the ghost.
After his return to the team, Lloyd and Nya worked to stop Morro and his forces from taking over Stiix. Lloyd congratulated Nya when she unlocked her True Potential and destroyed the Preeminent (even though she also destroyed his father along with it) to protect Stiix.
In Season 8: Sons of Garmadon, she was still a good friend to him and even offered him advice on approaching Harumi after the others gave bad advice. When he was defeated by his resurrected father Lord Garmadon, Nya gave him some of her power for him to recover after his fight with his resurrected father. She was also the only ninja who had stayed with him while the others had gone after Colossus.
After Lloyd saw the other ninja "die," they formed The Resistance in Season 9: Hunted to defeat the Sons of Garmadon, Lord Garmadon, and Harumi. Being the only two ninja left (the others being in another realm, unbeknownst to them), it was during this time that the two truly became close friends. In the end, Nya was happy to see Lloyd defeat his father and regain his powers.
When Nya merged with the ocean to defeat Wojira, Lloyd grew devastated and was later seen at her memorial to pay his final words. A year later, Lloyd led the Ninja to break Aspheera out to free Nya, even if it led to their incarceration.
Several years after the Merge, Lloyd reunited with Nya when she attacked him and his students for helping the Earth Dragons, until it was easily settled.
Wyldfyre[]
Wyldfyre faces Lloyd
Wyldfyre is Kai's student. Lloyd first met her upon freeing her from the Imperium Prison, mistaking her for Kai (due to their similar powers) before she attacked him, due to his Imperian disguise, and he kept trying to reason with her until he saved her from getting hit by Imperium Guards and they worked to save her guardian, Heatwave, which he didn't realize was her family, until she told him. After escaping, Wyldfyre and Heatwave decided to stay in the monastery, but Wyldfyre preferred to stay with Heatwave in the dragon stable. To help her develop her elemental power, Lloyd asked Kai to train her, something that Wyldfyre objected, which nearly set the monastery's recreation room on fire, until the two settled their differences during the Dragon Core hunt.
Dareth[]
Lloyd and Dareth
Lloyd and Dareth get along fine, even though he is put off by the latter's attempts to show off. Dareth has helped Lloyd and the ninja by providing shelter from the resurrected Garmadon and providing assistance in the resistance.
While Lloyd sees him as a good friend, he can still be annoyed by his antics but sees he's only trying his best and cuts him slack. This was seen in "Green Destiny" where Lloyd was encouraged by Dareth's words to keep fighting.
Skylor[]
Skylor was at first an enemy to Lloyd due to her being on Chen's side. When Skylor betrayed her father, Lloyd started to see Skylor as a friend.
During Season 9, Skylor helped Lloyd and his group and saved them from the Sons of Garmadon. Skylor also encouraged Lloyd when he was feeling down after the loss of his powers. Lloyd also helped Skylor discover a new trick with her elemental power by combining elements
Skylor then saved Lloyd from the Sons of Garmadon, during the ambush before Lloyd had saved Skylor. Skylor was the last of the resistance to stay by Lloyd's side (besides Dareth). After the defeat of Emperor Garmadon, Skylor then cheered for Lloyd.
In "A Mayor Problem," it was revealed that Skylor and Lloyd kept in touch and Lloyd had Skylor's number the whole time. Indicating that they stayed friends after Hunted, much to Kai's concern.
The Resistance[]
Lloyd was already acquainted with the Elemental Masters from the time they had helped stop Chen's forces. In Season 9, he was happy to see them again after they had saved him from the Sons of Garmadon. He was quick to ally with them in fighting Garmadon's forces and got along with them very well. During the ambush, Lloyd wanted to save the masters but Nya told them they had to prioritize his safety and he agreed, though he was clearly worried for them as he was devastated to hear they were captured.
After the ninja returned, Lloyd was happy to see the resistance had broken out and were helping them fight Garmadon.
Kataru[]
Lloyd and Kataru
During "The Last of the Formlings," Lloyd learned of him from Akita and of his supposed fate by the ice dragon Boreal.
In "A Fragile Hope," while in the dungeon, Lloyd meets Kataru, realizing he’s Akita's brother whom she thought was dead and vice versa, in the Ice Emperor's dungeon. Lloyd reassured him that his sister is still alive, to the latter's relief. Very soon, the pair are liberated by Grimfax and allied to overthrow Vex and his master.
During “Awakenings”, Kataru and Grimfax create a diversion for Lloyd to reach Zane, who soon recovered his memories and destroyed his scepter. Shortly after the ninja left, Kataru believes he wouldn't see him again and tries to cheer his sad sister up.
Akita[]
Lloyd meets Akita after defending him from the Frost Wolves that attacked him, then saves Lloyd again from an avalanche that he created to defeat the Blizzard Samurai, she in her wolf form, decides to help him find the Titan Mech, during the search he tells her about his father and then names her as "Red."
After finding out that she is a Formling, he was shocked to learn this and was angry at her deception. In return, Akita said she didn't know if Lloyd could be trusted, though she was angry at Lloyd for his droning on about his life story with his father and Harumi when he didn't know she would understand everything he said about. They reconciled when Lloyd advises her not to run with her broken leg, and Akita told him why she's after the Ice Emperor, and the two team-up.
Even though their goals differ, Akita might've had empathy for Lloyd when she asks him what he'll do after saving Zane.
Akita kisses Lloyd goodbye
In "Awakenings," they almost come into conflict when she learns the Ice Emperor is really the friend he's been searching for. Despite that, they remain protective of the other as Lloyd saved her from attacks and she voiced worry for him until she was frozen, to his dismay. After Zane regained his memory and liberated the realm, she and her people were freed from the ice and the threat of Vex and the Ice Emperor done.
Akita and Lloyd were about to part ways and the latter tries to come up with the best way to say goodbye. However, she seizes the moment to kiss him on his cheek, which left him surprised. She then bade him goodbye. Before leaving, he told her to take care and she told him the same.
P.I.X.A.L.[]
Lloyd and P.I.X.A.L.
Lloyd first encounters P.I.X.A.L. during the events of the Nindroid Crisis, but they do not appear to interact directly with one another for quite some time. In later seasons, they get along well, with both occasionally asking the other for advice and assistance on the battlefield.
In Season 7, P.I.X.A.L. uses Nya’s stolen Samurai X mech to catch a falling Lloyd (who lost control of his energy dragon while fighting the Vermillion Army), preventing him from plummeting to his death. Lloyd thanks P.I.X.A.L. for saving his life but is unaware of her identity at the time.
In "The Mask of Deception," Lloyd communicates with P.I.X.A.L. remotely and asks her to deliver his vehicle to him while chasing Mr. E. When she does so and "catches" Lloyd with his vehicle, he jokingly remarks that he could kiss her for saving him. P.I.X.A.L. is quick to say, "I don’t think Zane would approve," indicating her firm view of Lloyd as a friend.
Later, when Lloyd and Garmadon launch a mission to destroy the Realm Crystal in a futile attempt to prevent the Oni from entering Ninjago, P.I.X.A.L. waits in her Samurai X mech for them in case they require assistance. When Lloyd and Garmadon are unable to stop the Oni, P.I.X.A.L. comes to their aid and carries them both to safety.
In "Unsinkable," when P.I.X.A.L. unveiled her creation, the Hydro Bounty, Lloyd was the first ninja to thank her.
In 'Assault on Ninjago City," Wojira attacks P.I.X.A.L. while steering the Destiny’s Bounty and soon overpowers her. When Lloyd becomes aware of this, he immediately comes to her aid and distracts Wojira, allowing P.I.X.A.L. to briefly guide the Bounty and its occupants away from the primordial sea serpent.
In "An Issue of Trust," when P.I.X.A.L. presents Lloyd with a mech to battle the Crystal King alongside Garmadon, she remarks how the mech should function properly if her calculations are correct. Lloyd assures P.I.X.A.L. that he has no doubt that her calculations are correct and thanks her. P.I.X.A.L. then hugs him, pleasantly surprising him, before they go their separate ways to battle the Crystal King's forces.
Following the defeat of the Crystal King and his army, Lloyd, P.I.X.A.L., and their allies work together to rebuild the Monastery.
Okino[]
Lloyd and the ninja comfort Okino.
Lloyd and the ninja meet him in Prime Empire.
After many of Okino's disappointments, the ninja were finally masters, whom he led to the Red Dragon. Thanks to the ninja, he learned that Prime Empire was just a video game, that he couldn't believe. The ninja considered him their friend, and so did he, as he refused to obey Unagami and betray the ninja.
After helping them, Lloyd wishes him luck on whatever future choice he had and Okino abandons his task as a guide and becomes a ronin.
It appears they remained friends as Okino was present at Nya's memorial.
Blazey H. Speed[]
Lloyd and Racer Seven
Blazey H. Speed (formerly known as Race Seven) is an NPC that Lloyd befriended in Prime Empire.
In "Racer Seven," Lloyd sees Racer Seven racing at the Speedway Five-Billion and once again crashes. After her loss, she gets out of her car and in fury, throws her helmet in his direction while Lloyd was running away from the Red Visors. Lloyd later finds her drowning her sorrows at a noodle shop and stops to talk with her. He explaining that the world she lives in isn't real and Unagami has programmed her to lose. At first, Racer Seven doesn't believe Lloyd and even threatens to call the Red Visors if Lloyd doesn't leave her alone. Before Lloyd leaves, Lloyd tells her to meet in the empty parking lot if she changes her mind. After another loss, she realizes that Lloyd has a point and heads over to the empty parking lot. Lloyd comes out to greet her, happy that she believed him. Lloyd then returns her helmet and asks if she wants to join the race with them.
During "The Speedway Five-Billion," Racer Seven takes Lloyd up on his offer and meet him at the garage. The other ninja tell her of what Prime Empire really is, as well as Unagami being Milton Dyer. They reveal the only way to stop him is to get the three Key-Tanas, as well as winning the Yellow Key-Tana in the Speedway Five-Billion and they need her for that. Racer Seven reminisces of what Lloyd told her of how she was created to lose but could change that. She asked how he could be so sure. Lloyd says he isn't, but she has to believe in herself and that'll help her win.
As of "Game Over," Racer Seven and Lloyd were freed from Prime Empire by a redeemed Unagami along with the other ninja and NPCs. After exiting the Manifestation Gate, Racer Seven spots Lloyd among the crowd and he sees her. She briefly smiles at Lloyd, in gratitude for giving her a new start in life. Lloyd accepted this with a smile of his own.
It appears they remained friends as Racer Seven was present at Nya's memorial.
Vania[]
Lloyd became suspicious of Vania
Lloyd and the Ninjas were invited in Shintaro for Vania's Birthday. When Vania was excited to see the Ninja, Lloyd became suspicious of her after what happened with Harumi.
Lloyd apologizes to Vania
After Vangelis was defeated, Lloyd apologizes to Vania earlier for not trusting her, Vania happily accepts his apology.
It appears they remained friends as Vania was present at Nya's memorial.
Alfonzo Frohicky[]
- “Did I bring the thing? To the place?”
- “Yep. Still the best Assistant Keeper of the Monastery ever.”
— Alfonzo Frohicky and Lloyd, "The Power Within"
Alfonzo Frohicky is the current (and only) Assistant Keeper of the Monastery. Lloyd was skeptical when Arin and Sora brought him in to help maintain the monastery while Lloyd would train the two, until he eventually caved in.
Source Dragons[]
Ever since becoming a conduit for the Source Dragons, after using the Source Dragon of Energy's power to power up the portal gates to lead his friends and the dragons they rescued from Imperium to safety, not only Lloyd became a vessel for their power, but he also developed a connection with them, allowing him to not only talk directly with them, but also to overhear their conversations on occasion.
His first interaction with the Council of Sources after becoming a conduit was when he tried to medidate on his visions, only becoming frustrated when failing and asking the Source Dragons for answers. He is then approached by Spirit Dragons, that allowed him to contact the Source Dragons, who were curious about the one mortal that freed of them from captivity. Energy, having sensed great potential from Lloyd, urged his breathen to help him in his quest, which caused Motion to give him directions towards the Dragon Masters where he and other Ninja would be able to learn how to counter Shatterspin.
While imprisoned in the Land of Lee, Lloyd finds himself pulled towards a meeting of the Council, where he overhears them talking about how Thunderfang is still a threat and discussing over the possibility of summoning the Arc Dragon of Focus. While Motion, Energy and Flow agreed that doing it was necessary to prevent Thunderfang from reaching them, Strength, Focus and Life refused to do so, with the former dismissing the threat Thunderfang represented and the latter two regretting having meddled with mortals to begin with. This deadlock between them prevented the Source Dragons from doing anything to help.
After Lloyd (along with Arin) commanded the Arc Dragon of Focus against Thunderfang and defeated him, the Council of Sources was cut in half, with Strength, Focus and Life taking offense over his actions and deciding to remove themselves completely from the mortal plane.
Source Dragon of Energy[]
First encounter
They first met during the Battle of the Second Monastery. Lloyd was determined to free The Source Dragon of Energy. He was disappointed to find out it was impossible to do so without causing a disaster. Energy Source Dragon, feeling Lloyd's inner goodness, helped him save his friends and dragons from Imperium by sparking Lloyd into a Conduit. Later on, Lloyd freed The Source Dragon using three Dragon Cores, which the Source Dragon was very grateful for and remarked they will meet again.
After Lloyd grew frustrated over his inabity to find an answer towards his visions, the Source Dragons contacted him, following Energy talking about him. The Source Dragon of Energy, wanting to pay his debt, managed to convince the Council to help Lloyd find a way to fight Shatterspin.
Lloyd's actions in freeing him and his untiring dedication in protecting the Merged Realms and serving the Sources were what allowed Energy to take notice of his potential and decide to help him in any way he could, while also causing him to change his mind about mortals. This is what inspired him to side with Motion, along with Flow, in summoning the Arc Dragon of Focus. He also was the one who snuck Lloyd into a secret Council meeting where Motion revealed that mortals can release the Arc Dragon of Focus themselves.
Source Dragon of Motion[]
Motion thanks Lloyd
They first met in the "Beyond the Phantasm Cave" when Energy Source Dragon convinced her to help the Green Ninja. Despite agreeing in helping him, she knew that, due to the fact Source Dragons couldn't directly interfere in mortal affairs, she directed him towards the Dragon Masters that could help them fight against Shatterspin.
Months later Motion appeared before Lloyd and his fellow ninja in her mortal form to directly ask them for help to find those who killed three Arc Dragons (with at least one of them being connected with her). Despite the other Source Dragons were disregarding the dangers looming over them, Motion decided to put her trust on Lloyd, after he proved himself to be trustworthy after rescuing Energy, even directing the Ninja towards the City of Temples, where the Tournament of the Sources would take place.
When Lloyd was in a coma, plagued by terrible visions, Motion warded them off his and encouraged him to keep fighting thus waking him up.
After the tournament, she thanked Lloyd, even ensuring him of his accomplishments, telling him that, not only one of his students won the tournament, but he also uncovered the truth behind the deaths of the fallen Arc Dragons, prevented Ras from reaching the Source Dragons and put the Forbidden Five's plans in disarray. As a sign of gratitude, Motion granted him a Dragon Icon from one of her scales.
Ever since Lloyd earned her trust and respect, Motion has come to develop a great deal of faith on him and his team, knowing that, if the Council of Sources wouldn't come to an agreement over awakening the Arc Dragon of Focus to fight Thunderfang, the Ninja would be able to do it themselves, an opinion that was found with great skepticism by the Source Dragons of Strength, Focus and Life.
Source Dragon of Life (formerly)[]
Lloyd first met the Source Dragon of Life when they and the other Source Dragons approached him after he showed frustration over interpreting his visions. When Strength asked who would "claim" him, Life replied he was one of theirs, even knowing he was a descendant of the First Spinjitzu Master. This means that Lloyd's elemental power of Energy comes from them.
Despite Lloyd being connected to her source energy, being a conduit and having proved himself worthy of their trust, Life overlooked all that in favor of their own regret about meddling with mortal affairs due to all the problems it caused to them and the other Source Dragons, leading to their decision to not summon the Arc Dragon of Focus to stop Thunderfang, fearing it would cause more troubles. After Lloyd's actions in summoning the Arc Dragon of Focus without the Council of Sources' consent, they, along with Strength and Focus, removed themselves from the council. This resulted in Lloyd's Energy to become unstable.
Source Dragon of Strength (formerly)[]
Lloyd first met the Source Dragon of Strength when he and the other Source Dragons approached him after he showed frustration over interpreting his visions. Unlike Energy, Strength was showed having a very low opinion on Lloyd, saying he "[didn't] seem like much". Despite that, with Energy's plea to help him as thanks for freeing him, they show him the way towards the Dragon Masters.
Despite Lloyd being a conduit and having proved himself worthy of their trust, Strength stubbornly refused in meddling with mortal affairs anymore, leading to his decision to not summon the Arc Dragon of Focus to stop Thunderfang. When Lloyd overhears the Source Dragons' conversation about Thunderfang still being a threat, Strength is the one to notice Lloyd's presence and angrily pushing him out of their plane. After Lloyd's actions in summoning the Arc Dragon of Focus without the Council of Sources' consent, he, along with Life and Focus, removed themselves from the council.
Source Dragon of Flow[]
Lloyd first met the Source Dragon of Flow when she and the other Source Dragons approached him after he showed frustration over interpreting his visions. Despite interactions between Lloyd and the Source Dragon of Flow are not showed, because both sided with Motion and Energy in summoning the Arc Dragon of Focus, it's implied that, very much like them, she seem to see the same potential in him as them.
Source Dragon of Focus (formerly)[]
Lloyd first met the Source Dragon of Focus when she and the other Source Dragons approached him after he showed frustration over interpreting his visions. Due to the absence of interactions between Lloyd and the Source Dragon of Focus, it's unknown what she thought of him when he became a conduit, but due to her regrets over meddling in mortals' affairs (especially using the Arc Dragon of Focus against Thunderfang the first time), she voted against summoning them again. However, after Lloyd commanded the Arc Dragon of Focus against Thunderfang, the Source Dragon of Focus took great offense over the Green Ninja using her own personal avatar, without her consent, resulting in her removing herself from the Council of Sources, along with Strength and Life.

Enemies[]
Pythor[]
- “I thought you were my friend.”
- “All you wanted was to make the Serpentine your slave. Well, sorry, my dear boy, I have other plans.”
— Lloyd and Pythor, Never Trust a Snake
Lloyd and Pythor
Pythor manipulated Lloyd to get his hands on the map to the Serpentine tombs. Pythor later allied himself with the Overlord to get vengeance on Lloyd for letting the Great Devourer eat him. When capturing him, Lloyd was shocked to see Pythor's new look and the latter blamed him for it.
During the Second Serpentine War, Pythor wasn't pleased to see Lloyd again but had no choice but to help the ninja. Lloyd even protected Pythor from Chen's forces and Pythor gave the ninja a spell that would banish Chen and his followers. By doing this, Pythor became a temporary ally to the ninja, despite the spell banishing Garmadon too.
During "Day of the Departed," Pythor fell back into his evil ways and decided to use the events of the day to destroy Lloyd. They fought and Pythor used underhanded moves such as holding Lloyd's mother hostage but Lloyd and his mother broke free and Pythor disappeared into the night.
Shortly before the crystal infection, Lloyd met Pythor again and tried to fight him.
The Overlord (archenemy)[]
- “Your grandfather fought me and failed. Your father fought me, and also failed. You tried twice and failed just like your forebearers.”
- “You know what they say, third time's the charm.”
- “You still hope. Admirable, but foolish. Watch as I crush that hope.”
— The Overlord and Lloyd, "The Coming of the King"
The Overlord persuading Lloyd to join him
Lloyd and The Overlord were fated enemies, as the prophesied Green Ninja and Dark Lord respectively. The Overlord hated Lloyd for being the grandson of the First Spinjitzu Master and sought to destroy him. In return, Lloyd personally hated The Overlord for corrupting his friends and father to serve him and defeated him during the Final Battle.
Due to Pythor, The Overlord returned to try to steal Lloyd's golden powers to become the Golden Master. However, Zane made the final move and sacrificed him to protect his friends and freed Lloyd from being a victim of the threat.
One year following the defeat of Kalmaar, The Overlord revealed himself to Lloyd as the Crystal King that gathered his enemies and brought Harumi back. The dark entity taunted Lloyd about how he and his predecessors failed to end the Overlord for good. Eventually, Lloyd was able to defeat the Overlord once again with the help of the Golden Ultra Dragon.
Chen[]
The final round of the tournament
Lloyd entered his tournament after hearing Zane was on his island. Lloyd later learned Chen was his father's old master and was surprised to learn this.
Lloyd began to view Chen as an enemy, once seeing him take the Elemental Powers of Karlof and wanted to stop him in his tracks.
Lloyd also learned that Chen was indirectly responsible for his birth after he learned the villain gave his father the love letter Wu had written to his mother.
Lloyd was lured into facing Chen when Kai feigned allegiance to him. In their battle, Chen used his staff to hold the advantage of the Green Ninja and defeated him effortlessly. Chen also couldn't help in rubbing in on holding Lloyd's fate to his father. Chen stripped Lloyd of his power and prepared to complete his spell, however, Kai revealed his ruse, and Lloyd regained his powers. Along with his friends, he fought against Chen's forces. He grew to detest him when learning Che manipulated the humans and Serpentine into fighting each other, in order to benefit himself.
Lloyd defeated Chen after he banished his father and freed the spirits of the Anacondrai generals and they cursed Chen and his followers.
Morro (formerly)[]
- “Let me handle the blowhard.”
- “You think you're better better than me? No one is better than me!”
— Lloyd and Morro, Curseworld, Part II
Lloyd and Morro fighting over the Realm Crystal.
Lloyd was possessed by Morro for most of Season 5.
They first meet when Lloyd is lured into a trap by the ghost warrior. Morro subsequently attacked Lloyd, while taunting him that his father's sacrifice was what allowed him to break out of his imprisonment. Morro showed a dislike for Lloyd both because he was Wu's nephew and the Green Ninja, something he dreamed of.
After the ninja found the Realm Crystal, Morro abandoned Lloyd's body and held the weakened Green Ninja hostage for the item in question over their friend. However, Morro leaving Lloyd caused the other ninja to regain their power and they fought to free Lloyd.
Reunited with his friends, Lloyd sought to defeat Morro for possessing him. Lloyd confronted Morro and attacked him in revenge for using him.
During "Day of the Departed," they meet again and Lloyd was angry to see him. He quickly armed himself for a fight until Wu told them that Morro came to help, to Lloyd's surprise. Morro explained to them of what Yang was planning. Thanks to him, the ninja recalled how they forgot Cole and rushed to his aid. His mission accomplished, a redeemed Morro returned to the Departed Realm at peace.
In The Splinter in the Blind Man's Eye, Lloyd revealed that Morro's possession was the most traumatic event that he experienced as the feeling of not being able to control his body and being forced to watch and be responsible for the damage he caused and the friends he's hurt was enough to keep him up at night.
Vex[]
Lloyd and Vex
Lloyd sees Vex as an enemy for manipulating Zane.
During "The Never-Realm," Lloyd heard about him from Sorla and was worried about the threat he poses to save Zane.
In "My Enemy, My Friend," they meet formally when Vex had Boreal spare Lloyd after he was defeated and brought before his master. He was present when Lloyd awoke and was shocked to learn that the Ice Emperor's true identity as Zane.
In "A Fragile Hope," Lloyd realized Vex had something to do with Zane's condition when the latter called him a liar and requested permission to destroy Lloyd after he tries to get through to Zane and take his staff but is forced to watch him be imprisoned. Despite this, Vex relished in taunting Lloyd on having hope, while stating that Lloyd does not know the "many details" that could help get through to Zane. The Green Ninja was unaware of Zane's lost memories and states Zane will see him for the liar he is, though Vex cockily retorts he is the faithful advisor and tells Lloyd the shackles he's in will block his powers.
During "Once and for All," Lloyd's group were confronted by Vex. Lloyd was able to slip away while Vex confronted his allies.
In "Awakenings," Vex arrives to find Lloyd frozen by his master. Seeing this, he implored his master to destroy the Green Ninja. However, when he hesitates, Vex tried to do the job himself while taunting Lloyd on his predicament in failing. He moved to destroy Lloyd until Zane regained his memories and stopped him by knocking them away. Later on, Vex was stripped of power and was banished to the outskirts of the realm.
Grimfax (formerly)[]
Lloyd and Grimfax
Grimfax was initially an enemy but became a friend of Lloyd's.
The two first met when Grimfax's Legion attacked Great Lake in "Fire Maker." Lloyd and Grimfax battled until the latter retreated after snuffing out the Hearth Fire.
They meet again in "A Fragile Hope," where he listens to Lloyd plea to Zane and is left in a thought about it. In the dungeon, Grimfax questions Lloyd if he was really friends with Zane and if he could get through to him after Lloyd says he could, Grimfax released him. Thankful, Lloyd welcomes him to his resistance.
During "Once and for All," they were confronted by Vex and his soldiers. Grimfax put his faith in Lloyd by telling him to split from the group and get through to Zane.
In "Awakenings," Grimfax's faith was well put because Lloyd not only got through to Zane but freed the realm from the eternal winter. This also allowed Grimfax to take back his rightful place as king and banish Vex for his crimes.
Ras (temporary ally)[]
Lloyd and Ras
Lloyd and Ras first met during the Battle of the Second Monastery, fighting on opposite sides. The Ninja managed to escape with all the dragons, leading to Ras' imprisonment.
When Ras took over the Cloud Kingdom. Lloyd and his fellow Ninja tried to stop him, but were defeated by Cinder using Shatterspin. They fought each other during the Blood Moon Ritual. Ras managed to sacrifice Kai and free Nokt, but was forced to escape with the rest of the Wolf Clan.
They met again at the Tournament of the Sources. A personal rivalry seemed to have sprung between them when they met face to face during the dinner of the tournament. Ras conspired with Bleckt and sent an attacker bot after the Ninja. During the final round, Lloyd and Ras acted as coaches for Sora and Nokt respectively. Lloyd was certain that it was the villainous tiger who killed the three Arc Dragons, to the point where he was astonished to discover he was innocent. After Nokt stole all the elemental powers, Lloyd and Ras teamed up against him and the Wolf Warriors. Lloyd also noticed that Ras manipulated the former’s student, Arin to fight on his side and showed concern when the latter abandoned the ninja to go save the villain.
After meeting Ras in the World Forest, Lloyd assumed Ras was holding Arin hostage but Ras said Arin is with him by choice.
After Thunderfang's defeat, Arin and Sora leave with Ras. Although Lloyd is worried about his students, he allows it, pointing out that making one's own decisions is the difference between a ninja and Ras.
Zeatrix[]
- “Your sister Beatrix didn't need these tricks to fight me.”
- “No, she needed an army. My army!”
— Lloyd and Zeatrix, "The Sword Shatters"
Lloyd and Zeatrix fight.
Prior to meeting Zeatrix personally, Lloyd saw visions of her, though he assumed it was her twin sister Beatrix. The former princess of Imperium held a grudge against the Green Ninja for stealing her chance to take revenge on Beatrix. During the tournament Lloyd was haunted be the visions of him being defeated by Zeatrix. When he managed to win, Zeatrix broke the rules and attacked him from behind, sending Lloyd into a coma. For a brief moment, she seemed to regret her actions. However, that didn't last long as she was quickly enraged by Wyldfyre's words but Zeatrix intended on attacking Wyldfyre not Lloyd.
Thunderfang[]
Thunderfang attempts to steal Lloyd's soul.
Lloyd and his fellow ninja tried to stop the Forbidden Five from releasing Thunderfang. After the Shatter Dragon was released, he targeted Lloyd specifically, as he was the Conduit of the Source Dragons. Eventually, Thunderfang managed to devour Lloyd's soul, until it was released by Arin using elixir from the Well of the Lost.
In light of Thunderfang's return and the Spectral invasions he led, the ninja planned to awaken the Arc Dragon of Focus, which made the Dragon of Chaos furious. Once the Champion was activated, Lloyd and Arin took control of it and defeated Thunderfang.
